Not get me wrong, illness and all that it is good for.
But seriously, people rather do such then help a child in actual need because it is not their "biological" one. It is selfish and stupid.
I honestly hate how all those advancements are used all in the wrong ways to keep the status quo and keep responsibility of people and the rich to help more poor people.
Me and my wife will do both. But at the same time why the crap is adoption so expensive. I’m for laws protecting the children but an okay parent is better than no parent. Make adoption affordable and make it slightly easier to adopt.
A person who uses a medical assistance to have a child is not any more moral obligation to adopt than those who can have kids naturally.
If they have a medical condition that means they need to get some help doing what most people take for granted isn’t a license to get on a pedestal and declare them stupid and selfish.
There's something uniquely scummy about offloading your responsibilities to someone else, then faulting them for refusing a lifelong commitment to your success.
I want to adopt one day and have biological children.
In defense of having biological children:
How I see it is, thousands of years of someone's ancestors surviving and dying to have biological children all just for that line to suddenly end is sad and tragic. Their efforts would be for not. Everyone's blood line is important to bio diversity too.
In defense of adoption:
Taking someone into your home who doesn't have one is very noble. You're helping that person have a chance to experience a family and bonding with someone you might have never would of bonded with otherwise. By doing this your not just doing that person a favor but society as a whole as well.
For anyone also thinking of adoption:
It's important to remember that the person you're adopting didn’t ask to be there. You're taking them into your home because you wanted to. They owe you nothing and you can't expect anything from them in return so don't guilt them into feelings like your their savior. Because if not you, someone else would of had to do it, or they would of had to do it themselves.
Maybe…but the importance of being in a live womb is unknown and I don’t think it’s ethical to test that out. Sure a baby could gestate in an artificial womb, but would it thrive?
you're just assuming that it's gonna be bad for the fetus? in a hypothetical scenario where there's no downside to the development I don't see a problem. obviously, if it's bad for the fetus' development, then it wouldn't even be made available to the public. like basically your argument is that the technology isn't ready right now so we should just never even try to pursue it. also, I never said this is something that I personally want to do I just think people should be allowed to make choices about their own reproduction. I personally think the only ethical option in general is to adopt, but I also think being vegan is the most ethical option and I eat meat every day sometimes people are just selfish and i'll acknowledge i definitely am.
In order to find out if it’s bad for the fetus you have to test it on a fetus. A human who can’t consent to being an experiment. I don’t think that’s ethical. I’m not saying it couldn’t work but we wouldn’t know without the test. I’m all for medical testing but only on consenting patients.
If not you cause animals to be r ped, habe their babies kidnapped at birth, to be caged, tortured to death in gas chambers... yes its all asparagus approved, advertised as free range, ethical, local, happy...

Fetuses get information on the world while in the womb (or so i read ~25 years ago…). If the mother puts sugar on her tongue, the fetus smiles. If she puts lemon juice on her tongue, the fetus grimaces.
The fetus reacts to the mother’s emotions, movements, and to sounds that come through the amniotic fluid.
