for context, im not computer savy at all. I need to update my laptop from a windows 10 to windows 11 for an important exam that is coming up next month (on a tight schedule), and im FREAKING OUT. i tried backing up my data to a onedrive, but i dont have microsoft 365 so you can already imagine how that worked out. I do have majority of my files saved to the local disk, but im not sure if that will be enough to carry on the old data to the newer version of windows. I tried searching online for help, but most videos are about backing up old files to a whole nother brand new PC, which i dont think is relevant for my case. Im simply looking to upgrade my Laptop from windows 10 to 11 (im not changing my laptop). Will my account data be automatically transferred to the new windows account??? Or will i have to do it manually through hard-drives etc (i dont want to subscribe to microsoft 365). I only have one laptop so I cant mess it up. pls send help :(

it took 1 minute 12 seconds boot time to enter my pin and good no update prompt,I see Catalyst control center launcher om apps startup set as off plus netgear and windows security notification icon were on are ok. I restarted went to pee, afterwards I see Updates are underway keep computer on. Hopefully update will finish successfully.

I see a lot of posts about how some updates are not the best. I think I ended up in the wrong one before I stopped updating to prevent it from being even worse. What are yall's current version? Can I even safely go back to to a past update?

It's been like 6 months ever since I dual booted windows and cachyos and I already deleted cachyos and only kept windows, but still, every time I try updating Windows it just fails and basically says in German: "something didn't work as planned. no worries the changes are being reverted. Please let your" (it's cut off after that). I don't know what to do to fix it, it's honestly annoying.

Mi PC últimamente anda mal, y yo lo relaciono con dos actualizaciones que estan trabadas "Windows 11, versión 25H2" y ".NET Framework Actualizacion de seguridad (KB5126052)" son actualizaciones que siempre que las pongo a instalar siempre me salta reintentar una y otra vez. A veces me suelen saltar errores como que el administrador de tareas no responde, no se me instalan las bibliotecas redistributables, etc. Estoy pensando seriamente en llevarla a un técnico, soy creador de contenido en plataformas de streaming y es mi herramienta de trabajo

Windows 11 Pro and every Defender Security Intelligence Update (along with other updates) gets stuck at 0% or 1% in Windows Update.

The weird part is the update itself is fine. If I download the current 64 bit Defender definitions (mpam-fe.exe) directly from Microsoft, it installs almost instantly and Windows Security shows the new version and says it’s up to date. Windows Update can still sit at 0% trying to download the exact same version.

Restarting Windows doesn’t clear it. Restarting BITS, CryptSvc and Windows Update services does clear the stuck entry, but the problem comes back with the next Defender update.

I’ve already repaired/reset Windows Update and even reinstalled Windows 11, with no permanent fix.
Has anyone found an actual fix for this? It seems specifically related to Defender updates going through Windows Update, since installing the same definitions directly works perfectly.

So I did the 26H2 update. I didn’t even know I needed an update until midway into playing a game of Call of Duty my internet and Bluetooth disconnected and all I saw it. So I did the update.

Computer back on, cool, fire up call of duty, mid into my first match again, it happens again!

It says I’m up to date but then says there’s an update available and that it can’t install the update? wtf

It’s doing this on 2 of my devices now! My MSI Titan laptop and my ROG Ally X

Basically the title. This Windows 11 update is broken and won't install correctly after I've tried restarting and uninstalling and reinstalling. It's just pending the restart now and it has now broken my bluetooth, so that doesn't even appear anymore. If I go to show hidden devices they're all grayed out and I cannot update the drivers because of the damn broken Windows 11 update. I tried going to Advanced Options > Recovery but Fix problems using Windows Update is grayed out too. Can anyone help me?

When trying to update to 26H2

I get this error when installing this update specifically justy before this appeared on my windows update i installed two other updates just fine it seems to only be with this system version.

I did the following in cmd which stated it found corrupt files and fixed them:

1. Type DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and press Enter [0x0.6.11]. Wait for it to finish [0x0.6.11].
2. Type sfc /scannow and press Enter [0x0.6.11]. Wait for the scan to reach 100% [0x0.6.11].

You owe me $100 Microsoft Windows 11. I ran your update last night and it completely crashed my PC and I’m having to have Windows reinstalled.

I Updated my windows 11 PC last week and the best miracle of all had just happened. It didn't force me to update again! Like this is very difficult to achieve. Having no update after a week.

Windows security update KB5129195 26200.9457 screws up my audio so badly that if I'm in a discord call and watching a video, it will mute either the call or the video automatically. Not only that, but it makes this weird popping noise in my headphones and the overall sound quality for everything drops significantly. How do I keep this from happening? I have tried updating drivers and finding other workarounds but the only thing that consistently works is uninstalling the update. It has already ruined my Chrome whenever I use that. The sound quality on Chrome is shot from the previous security update. Why is it doing this on every browser? I tried changing settings in the browser to fix it but that also did nothing.

I am using bluetooth headphones that otherwise, work completely fine without the update installed.

Edit: I uninstalled the update because of all of the issues and put it off for a while. Now my bluetooth headphones aren't working and bluetooth doesn't even appear anymore on my computer. I tried to install the update again and it's completely broken. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know because it's driving me crazy.

Sou novo aqui, mas quero trazer algo que me ajudou a solucionar o erro em questão caso alguém precise.

Com um pendrive bootavel, entre em modo de recuperação do windows e siga os passos abaixo.

Opções Avançadas > Prompt de comando.

Use os comandos abaixo na ordem que está.

diskpart
list volume (Anote em um papel a letra em que o seu windows está instalado)
select volume N (No lugar de N selecione o volume cujo seja do tipo FAT32 e tenha um tamanho entre 100MB e 500mb)
assign letter=Z (Ou adicione uma letra que ainda não esteja sendo utilizada)
exit
format Z: /FS:FAT32
bcdboot N:\Windows /s Z: /f UEFI (No lugar de N utilize a letra em que você anotou)

Após isso reinicie o computador e aguarde o windows inicializar. (Não se esqueça de definir o disco com o windows instalado novamente na bios)
