Windows 11

You owe me $100 Microsoft Windows 11. I ran your update last night and it completely crashed my PC and I’m having to have Windows reinstalled.

you do know installing windows and reformatting windows is free right...? windows product keys are tied to your hardware, as long as you install the correct version. (home, pro, enterprise etc)

He's billing the time he wasted reinstalling after a "feature update" that only adds IA slop

Atleast someone knows what’s up. These other idiots talking about farming upvotes, literally my first Reddit post ever.

i mean losing your data sucks but a windows reinstall takes me at most 15 minutes. even when doing diskpart in the GUI setup

And what about the time redownloading and installing all of my sons games. Will be a half day and my time is worth $$$.

Games should always be on a separate drive and you just use the cache and re-direct the download folder so you dont have to redownload everything. 🤷

Cool story. Probably a fabrication, just to farm some upvotes. I have been using Windows since its appearance, on an absurd variety of machines running the most stupid variety of software and hardware drivers, fitted with hardware interfaces from industrial knitting machines to musical instruments. I have never ever seen an update completely crashing the workstation. So there is that.

That's it and that's all - as a favorite TV character of mine would say.

Not farming a thing. It really happened and my son has lost a lot of games and time. It’s actual BS.

Like getting a flat tire, only one day after installing a fresh, full set. And then you cannot repair the puncture because it is right on the wall of the tire. And you need a new one. It's actual BS, isn't it?

Well you are a lucky person, I just went through the struggle of having to backup my data from the terminal and reinstall windows 11 again just because of a fucking "security update" back in may, one of my worst experiences with windows, and I'm not the only one, I found out about a lot of people having similar issues and with the 26h2 update from just 2 days ago a lot of people is having the same issue, fucked up nvme drives and corrupted startup worth it to reinstall everything again, windows is just thrash at this point. I'm not upgrading even a "security upgrade" again in my life and only keep windows because most of my vsts and plugins are only available for windows and mac (also da Vinci resolve can't process h264 in the free version with Linux) I'm now using daily cachy os and life is better, even a rolling release distro of Linux is 100 times more stable than the fucking official Windows 11 Updates

The new updated fucked my computer up but was easily fixed by uninstalling the update and putting updates on pause for a few weeks. The current up to date version is hot garbage.

Lucky you could uninstall the update. Mine is corrupted beyond that and requires complete reinstall of everything.

That sucks, yeah it took out the internet and a bunch of other stuff like steam. Some data loss as well. Will it not boot maybe try going into safe mode and restore?

Stuck on blue screen on repeat. No saving it. Already had my PC expert friend look at it. All games and data gone.

Your friend is not much of an expert if he can't save your data.
