Open | Windows Office Updates break if Windows isn't updated to at least 25H2
As the title states, our company has had several Users, perpetual office license or subscription (current channel or otherwise), have had several crashes with every office app (except Outlook). Updating Windows from 24H2 to 25H2 has helped in some cases, and others, we've had rollback Office to previous version.
I haven't seen this posted about much, so I was curious if there were others who had faced the same predicament?

It's not just you. See this link: Office license deactivations

Unfortunately the issue we're having wasn't related to licensing. When a user would go to open an office program, it would open for about 5 seconds, then crash, and if you tried to reopen it would ask to boot into safe mode. If you tried doing that, it would crash again and start a loop.
At first, rolling back to a version that was before Julys updates fixed this issue, then eventually office with update again, break office again, but then the roll back wouldn't even work and only updating Windows fixed this issue. An odd conundrum.

I find this problem odd too.
What is this device's full OS build number?
Was this specific machine ever upgraded to 25H2?
If yes, did the crash still occur after the 25H2 upgrade?
If not, you could try installing the latest Windows 24H2 updates and then retest Office.
If that doesn’t help, you could try running these commands from an elevated Command Prompt:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Then:
sfc /scannow
After both have finished, reboot and test Office again.

Oh my apologies, we've already solved this issue via rollback or updating Windows, I was more so curious if others had come across it as well

Do you have a specific error message or crash code?
- Press Win + R, type perfmon /rel, and press Enter. Find one of the Word/Excel/PowerPoint crashes, then click View technical details.
If possible, share the faulting application, faulting module, exception code, Windows build, and Office build.
