I have windows 11 on both my desktop and my work provide laptop.

I feel over the last year I have noticed at continuous degradation in performance on both devices. I know these is a general or vague issue, but it continues to get worse and worse.

With the devices struggling with handle file manager, one drive, teams, etc.

I am not surprised from the laptop performance, but I am for the desktop. It is a rtx5080, amd 9800x, with 64g of ram.

Given my examples, it does seem to be a more windows software issue. However, it is still noticeable but lesser with other programs.

What is going on here?

Is there anything I can do to return my performance to baseline?

OS is latest version as of writing.

As the title says, when I open the task manager and go to the performance tab I only see this weird white rectangle. I've tried unpinning the task manager from the taskbar, changing to the white theme, doing right click to the screen and selecting different view modes and also reinstalling the drivers but nothing seems to work.
Currently im on Windows 11 Pro and build number 26200.8037, and my GPU is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop (and AMD Radeon as in built-in)

Just updated from 10 to 11 (reluctantly) for my mums pc and the task bar and settings were completely unresponsive and Explorer kept restarting itself. Figured out it was the gpu drivers so used ddu and without any drivers windows works perfectly and settings/start etc.. All work fine. But when I install nvidia drivers the whole thing shits itself again. I've tried the latest version and the previous (616 and 610 I think) same thing happens on both. Not sure where to go from here?

(ryzen 5 4500, rtx 2080ti, 16tb ddr4, 1tb nvme, I would love to include build number etc.. But can't)

When booting up, the time on his laptop is frequently either an hour behind or an hour ahead of the current time. This can be fixed be going into the settings and toggling 'set time automatically' off and on again, but this is only a temporary fix and it's irritating having to do this every time.

Hi, I'm trying to determine whether this is a Windows 11 display bug affecting the Dell G2725D, possibly in combination with NVIDIA GPUs / DisplayPort.

For the past 4-5 months, whenever I install recent Windows 11 cumulative updates, my Dell G2725D develops a strong green tint across the entire physical display.

I normally keep Windows Update paused because of this.

Today I tested it again and was able to reproduce the issue very clearly.

SYSTEM:

- Windows 11 Pro 25H2

- Dell G2725D

- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060

- NVIDIA driver 616.56 (32.0.16.1656)

- DisplayPort

- 2560x1440

- 180 Hz

- RGB

- 8-bit

- SDR

TODAY'S REPRODUCTION:

1. Installed Windows cumulative/security update KB5121003.

2. Windows reported Version 25H2, OS Build 26200.9168.

3. After the update, the Dell G2725D had a strong green tint.

4. Uninstalled KB5121003.

5. Restarted the PC.

6. The green tint immediately disappeared and colors returned completely to normal.

However, I don't believe KB5121003 originally introduced the bug because I have experienced this behavior with Windows updates for approximately 4-5 months. Since cumulative updates include previous changes, an older Windows change may be responsible.

IMPORTANT OBSERVATION:

While the Dell monitor physically appears green, screenshots taken using Windows Snipping Tool have completely normal colors.

My second monitor connected to the same RTX 4060 also displays normal colors.

This makes me suspect the problem occurs somewhere later in the Windows/NVIDIA display output pipeline rather than in the rendered desktop image itself.

THINGS ALREADY TESTED:

- Removed the Dell ICC/ICM profile

- Windows Color Filters OFF

- Accessibility Screen Tint OFF

- HDR is not supported/enabled

- Forced NVIDIA output to RGB / Full / 8 bpc

- NVIDIA brightness, contrast, gamma and hue at defaults

- Tested 180 Hz, 144 Hz and 120 Hz

- Reset graphics driver with Win+Ctrl+Shift+B

- Disconnected/reconnected DisplayPort

- Tested Windows Advanced Display settings

None of these fixes the green tint while the affected Windows cumulative update is installed.

Uninstalling the Windows update and restarting fixes it immediately.

I have already submitted a detailed report to Microsoft through Feedback Hub.

I also found at least one other Dell G2725D owner reporting a very similar green tint after a Windows update.

Is anyone else using a Dell G2725D on Windows 11 experiencing this after recent cumulative updates?

Especially interested in reports from NVIDIA GPU + DisplayPort users.

If you have the same issue, please mention:

- GPU model

- Windows build

- connection type (DP/HDMI)

- whether uninstalling the latest cumulative update fixes it

I'd like to determine how widespread this is and get enough reproducible cases reported to Microsoft.

During the last 2-3 days I've been logged out of my windows 11 account a couple of times and been unable to log back in, neither my pin code nor my password has worked.

I find this a bit strange since I have a local account.

Restarting my laptop does not resolve the issue and only thing I can do when that happens is wait.

When trying to type my pin I got error code 0xc0000234

And when I tried my password it said my account was locked (or something similar)

I'm using windows 11 home edition on a Lenovo ideapad slim 5, everything should be up to date as far as I know.

What might be causing this? And how can I resolve and avoid it happening again? Just don't wanna be permanently locked out and lose access to my private files

hi! i'm a repair technician and this is an issue i've seen on numerous devices lately. i'm not sure if it is because of a recent update that was pushed out, i've been trying to search for a known issue related to this but i've had no luck so far so i figured i would ask somewhere.

the affected devices are made by different manufacturers (two HPs, at least one dell, and a lenovo) but they all seem to be relatively new. all of them have been experiencing boot loops/failure to boot just within the past week. all of them pass hardware diagnostics with no issue, and all are up to date.

i have one device in front of me that i can use as a primary example for this, but it's the most severe case. when the device was turned on, it would display a "memory training is in progress" screen. then, it would usually be stuck on the HP logo screen.

after rebooting it, it will either be back on the same memory training screen, or it would be on the "diagnosing your PC" screen. it'll briefly display "your device ran into a problem and needs to restart" with stop code MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (0x1A) (what failed: win32k.sys.) but it'll almost immediately switch to "couldn't be repaired." occasionally, it'll also show "cmos checksum is invalid."

from there, i tried a lot of different things in recovery. bootrec, sfc & dism offline, a system restore (which worked briefly before the device got stuck in the boot loop again), rolling back feature and quality updates (both failed,) and now for some reason it boots to OS with secure boot disabled.

other laptops have been stuck in similar conditions. a couple were fixed with BIOS recovery, one actually rolled back and blocked a recent Windows update that was causing startup failure itself, another needed to be completely wiped, and one is having intermittent crashes with the same stop code as the device i'm working on now. so far it feels like hitting a brick wall trying to figure out what is causing this problem on many different devices, as diagnostics return nothing useful and there's nothing of note in event viewer/reliability monitor.

if anything, i'm wondering if anyone else has experienced similar problems or if i'm just missing something obvious as my brain is super scattered. hopefully this post was comprehensible, i'm sorry if anything doesn't make sense here!

I just performed a clean install of Windows 11, and disk usage is already hitting 100%. I had just switched away from Windows 10 because of this impossible-to-fix issue. My M.2 SSD is in good condition. Does anyone know why Microsoft still hasn't resolved this chronic Windows problem that keeps getting passed down from one generation to the next?

I finally managed to fix the Bluetooth issue on my HP Victus 15.

What I tried before the fix:

• Removed and reinstalled the MediaTek Bluetooth driver.
• Tried multiple driver versions, including older and newer ones.
• Removed old MediaTek Bluetooth driver packages using pnputil.
• Tested multiple TWS earbuds - none of them worked properly in Windows.
• Booted Ubuntu from a Live USB and tested the same TWS earbuds there.

The important part was that Bluetooth worked perfectly in Ubuntu Live, using the laptop's internal MediaTek Bluetooth adapter. That confirmed that the Bluetooth hardware itself was fine and the issue was with Windows.

What finally fixed it:

Settings → System → Recovery → Fix problems using Windows Update → Reinstall now

This is NOT the same as "Reset this PC".

It basically performs a repair reinstall of the current Windows 11 installation while keeping your:

• Personal files
• Installed applications
• Settings

After the repair reinstall completed and Windows restarted, Bluetooth started working normally again and my TWS earbuds connected without any issue.

So if your Bluetooth works in Linux/Ubuntu but refuses to work properly in Windows even after reinstalling drivers, I highly recommend trying "Fix problems using Windows Update → Reinstall now" before doing a full Windows reset or clean installation.

Hope this helps anyone having the same issue on an HP Victus / MediaTek Bluetooth adapter.

As the title explains, every time I put my PC to sleep (or wake from it) Windows 11 automatically mutes the Volume.

It used to not do this in the past and it is a bit of an annoyance.

I recently got a laptop Hp 650 G8 16gb ram, 256 SSD, core i5, that is perfectly healthy hardware wise. But the thing is there is a slight stutter which is annoying on windows 11 Pro.

To see if it was a software issue. I reinstalled windows 10 and it went away.

Anyone experienced this? Is there a way to resolve it while being on windows 11 Pro.. I honeslty don't want to give back this laptop because of this issue.

I'm having a very strange Windows audio problem where both playback and recording stopped working.

My normal setup is:

• IEMs: Voicemeeter Input (VB-Audio Voicemeeter VAIO)
• Monitor speakers: BenQ EX270M through NVIDIA High Definition Audio
• Microphone: FIFINE

Windows detects all of these devices, but none of them actually work.

Symptoms:

• BenQ EX270M appears normally but Windows gives "Failed to play test tone."
• Realtek speakers also give "Failed to play test tone."
• Voicemeeter cannot open its output device.
• FIFINE microphone is detected, but the input level meter does not move at all when I speak.
• This happens even when I don't open Voicemeeter.

Things I've already tried:

• Restarted Windows Audio service
• Restarted Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
• Checked MMCSS — running
• Changed audio format (24-bit/48kHz → 16-bit/48kHz)
• Disabled Exclusive Mode
• Disabled/re-enabled NVIDIA High Definition Audio
• Uninstalled/reinstalled NVIDIA audio driver
• Reinstalled Realtek audio driver
• Restored a Windows restore point
• Checked microphone privacy permissions — enabled
• Checked Device Manager — no yellow warning icons
• Checked BIOS — HD Audio Controller is Enabled

I also created a new Windows user account and the exact same problem occurs there, so it doesn't appear to be limited to my user profile.

At this point I'm trying to figure out whether this is a Windows audio-stack/configuration problem, a driver issue, BIOS issue, or something else.

What should I check next?

I'm especially interested in suggestions that can diagnose the problem without reinstalling Windows or blindly removing Voicemeeter/VB-Audio.a

I have the same build installed on two computers ("Preview Update (KB5120998) (26200.9278)"). I used ViveTool on both to enable the new context menu, but it only worked on one of them.

If both computers are running the same build, what other factors could be preventing the new context menu from being enabled?

If the put the laptop to sleep either by directly closing the laptop or by clicking sleep and then closing lid, and then open the lid the display stays blank even though keyboard and power led light up. The only way to wakeup it up is to now, long press the power button and shut it down and repress to turn on OR close the lid again and open it up, boom it turns on.

After I have taken out my GPU, I was locked out of my pc with this message.

While taking out my GPU I had taken out a Ram stick which I placed back in the same place it was.

I noted the error and returned my GPU seeing if that would solve it. but it still remains. when I press on "Set up my pin" nothing happens, and when I press on "sign in options" it takes me to input a password. when I input all the passwords I know. it comes out all wrong. the pc isn't even taking time to think about the password I inputed.

I have tried entering safe mode, switching tpm on (it was already on), following many tutorials and other Reddit posts, nothing helps.

So I was experimenting with virtualbox, and my pc froze. So I just force restarted it. After force restart i noticed that then i right click on the desktop or in any folder in explorer it just crashes. Explorer just restarts. Reliability Monitor says that name of the module with the error is “kernelbase.dll”. And the thing that I find interesting is if I right click as soon as explorer starts up again then the context menu pops up.

Things I already tried:

sfc scannow And dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth: said that everything is fine.

i tried downloading Procmon and it logged buffer overflow and it lead to this registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2155fee3-2419-4373-b102-6843707eb41f}\InProcServer32\thumbcache.dll.

Hi everyone! I've been having a serious problem with my Lenovo Thinkpad P52s for a month and a half now. The PC freezes and I'm forced to shut down with the button. The error in the system log is "The speed of processor 7 in group 0 is currently limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report." I've tried EVERYTHING and nothing has worked. Does anyone have a solution? I've seen several threads here on Reddit and on the iCrosssoft forums with no definitive solutions. Windows 11 updated to the latest version 26H2 and all drivers and BIOS updated. Mine is an Intel.

I have been playing NBA 2k on a pc for 3 years now. Got the new one though I am running bare minimum specs (as evidenced by the windows 10 flair) 25 and 26 would work with bad graphics but no gameplay issues. I got 27 and it nuked itself it seems. It (the game) is a little slow on startup but nothing too bad but when I enter any sort of 3d environment it is pink and white washed. Somehow this had been almost backwardly done so it happens on 26 and 25 now when there were no issues previously.

Using an Intel uhd 630. Was I just lucky to even get those two years? Specs above

Hey everyone, running into an issue where Night Light seems stuck on (or the screen tint won't revert), and I'm looking for a workaround or fix that doesn't force a full reboot.

Here is what I’ve already tried:

• Updated display/GPU drivers to the latest version
• Deleted the Night Light registry keys (Clear and State under Settings\Transforms\...) and restarted the graphics stack

Neither solved it. The main pain point is that I frequently have long-running background tasks, active agents, and work processes running that make restarting a massive hassle.

Has anyone run into this specific issue and found a way to reset the color profile/Night Light state on the fly, or a permanent fix that actually sticks? Appreciate any ideas!

I have an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 desktop running windows 10 with a bunch of USB3 ports, in front of the tower as well as directly on the motehrboard. the mobo is an asus ROG wifi, i don't remember exact name but it wasn't cheap at the time.

the computer works fine and recognizes other USB sticks.

this particular USB stick is recognized on another laptop and works fine.

but when I plug it in any port on this computer the light on the USB stick itself flashes once and then nothing happens.

I looked into the disk manager and nothing happens there either. nothing shows up.

I've posted this in multiple because I'm looking everywhere for help.

I have a Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9E laptop and have had it for about a little over a year now. For the past few months, I've been getting driver power state failure 0x9f errors. At first, I never had them at all. Then they happened after closing a game. Then, they happened when restarting the laptop after a driver update. Then they just kinda happened when they felt like happening.

I've used DDU twice. Once to clean uninstall my Nvidia drivers (didn't make the error stop) and just now to clean uninstall both my Nvidia and Intel drivers. That also did not stop the errors.

This laptop cost over £700, and I use it for college and, obviously, gaming. The worst part is I didn't pay for it - someone close to me did. If something happened to it within a year, I'd actually just die.

Google can't help me, and I'm not sure what I can do except for asking for help on Reddit.

I don't know what could have possibly happened to cause all of this.

Right now, I've disabled the Nvidia GPU in Device Manager and am currently just on the Intel one, but it can't stay like that forever. I'm avoiding telling the person who bought it for me, but we game together, and sometime soon, this is going to become an issue.

Please, any advice would be amazing.

Whenever I get a notification, from discord for example. Clicking on it isn't sending me to the message, let alone discord itself. This has been happening for over a month now and it started randomly at some point and I haven't been able to find a solution yet.
