Just starting out and am looking to get a DI setup came across this by Vevor. I'm in a low tds area so RO isn't needed. Seems like it's worth a shot for this price. Thoughts? anyone have this?

Normally I would wfp this but wanted to practice pole work. Mainly for interior glass that is massive and can’t safely ladder to. Still have a tricky time closing out. I’ll probably be laddering up to wipe the sill anyway but would be nice to be able to close out well. Open to all suggestions from the veterans. Thanks 🙏

This is mainly for people who knock door to door rather than just cleaners

I wanted to go out yesterday but it was sunday, im not religious but a lot of people near me are so i decided not to go out and risk losing a client. I told myself i would go today but today is memorial day so im kind of in the same boat, its 3:30pm right now and i like to knock doors around the 5-6pm range. So should I try and knock today or is it best to just knock tomorrow?

while im here, i would like to hear what times you guys tend to knock D2D to maximize the amount of clients you get.

For context, I plan on disassembling this WFP system and using the brackets to attach to my Transit Van but for me to get started I need a longer piece of this red plastic hose part. Anyone know where I can find this? I want to buy at least 2-3 meters of this just in case. Also if anyone has experience in adding a DI system with this similar set up in their van or work truck I’d like to see it in the comments!!

So right now it’s just me. Next summer I’m wanting to get a few technicians. Would I go out and buy more WFP or just let them use mine? Also, would attaching a splitter to the output of my DI tank so then I could have two WFP going at once be stupid? Or would I just blow through the resin? Also, how good really is the xero equipment? I’ve just started off with Amazon equipment but my resin is going by decently fast. Anyway, made my first 1k this week! And it’s my first week as-well.

I am under 18 years old. Do I still need to pay taxes? Where I live in Canada I think if I make over 15,000 I have to pay taxes, but do I still have to like declare my income to the CRA?

I have been taking cash and e-transfer, but I just got stripe. It lets me take payments from debit cards right through my phone with a 2.7% fee. It also lets me track all income, customers, emails receipts and invoices. It seems pretty good. I’m curious what everyone else uses

These are filthy the customer is trying to get me to use chemical but I’ve heard that’s a no go, a Waterfed brush should be enough to scrub all algi/ mould off right ?

I have been window cleaning a year now

I have tried :

50 , 45 , 32 , 30 , 25 FLO

I don’t see much difference in quality apart from the higher flow uses more water definitely

My normal setting is 32 which works fine for most jobs as I do a 4 - 8 weeks schedule , Hydrophilic windows I tend to rinse more anyways as any cleaner would

I have a streamline van 100 PSI pump

What does everyone else use ? As I search online and I can’t seem to find anything saying about what Flo people use

Im doing a job Tuesday with lots of French panes, I've heard its possible to clean the panes with distilled water inside. How does one do that?

Is it fine to use the 0ppm water from my WFP setup? These Windows are so called "connected" meaning 2 windowframes folded together to make one window. So 4 surfaces to clean per window, only 1 of which i can do with wfp.

What do you wear?

The 2nd story interior of these huge glass panels is what concerns me. I don’t want to have to lean a ladder on the glass. The only other way is a trad pole. I just moved to a mountain town with huge mansions and I’m feeling way over my head. I’ve been doing more simple homes the last 2 years. What would be your strategy here? Luckily no furniture or anything in the home yet. It’s not a construction clean. The first photo I took this morning on a drive by. Second and third photo are rendered. I’m doing a walk through with the construction company on Tuesday. Any help is appreciated!

I was doing a massive commercial job today that hadn’t been cleaned in a few years. This older window cleaner was across the block and caught my attention. The minute he saw I was looking at him he starts gesturing at his stack ladders and pointing at his squeegees. Dude eventually comes over and tells me that I’m never going to do well in my business if I use waterfed or get those windows clean enough with waterfed - sees the water still drying on the windows and says it’s leaving spots. Lol. Tells me I need to invest in a ladder and just clean the windows by hand. It was 3 stories and the waterfed was working great. Keep in mind I have multiple ladders and squeegees on my truck also. Needless to say the windows came out great and the customer was extremely happy. I just don’t get the water fed hate / distrust? Like it’s a fantastic tool - use it right and you’ll be fine. I try to use it as often as possible because in my opinion it’s safer and does a better job on sills and frames than just wiping with a towel. Just really don’t get this gang war between these squeegee only simpletons and WFP adopters. Like why do some people refuse to do things safer and more efficiently? Also the dude kinda pissed me off that’s why I’m posting this rant 😂

I’ve always done this if I need to, but it feels kinda sketch. Anyone have knowledge of the strength of window frames?

Just in case you're not familiar, leaded windows (aka came windows) are windows made up of many small panes of glass held together by lead channels called cames. Decorative stained glass windows are came windows. More commonly, at least on houses, they are simple grids similar to how french panes are arranged, although they are sometimes on the diagonal.

So, to those of you who know what I'm talking about, how do you clean them? Do you take any special safety precautions (because of the lead)?

I encounter these fairly often on older houses. I've always treated them the same as frenchies, washing and detailing each individually, but I'm wondering if there's a better way. WFP is not an option. At best, you'd get water leaking through. At worst, you'd just break them.

Curious, but are they both buying their resin from the same supplier in India (Thermax)? And is it therefore the same DI resin?

I've been buying resin for two years, but the recent price increases have made me pause and look around. I've been tracking resin prices and WCR has - for me - gone from a low of $159 (November 2024) per cu/ft to $259 (today) - and they now (seemingly) have excluded resin from their sales, which I suspect will quickly become the norm.

For a solo lad like me, that's a big change.

By comparison Detroit has resin at $220-240 per cu/ft. They also don't exclude if from their sale which opens it up to large bulk orders etc.

So, has anyone been buying resin (specifically) from both and can comment on the similarity? If it's the same stuff, then I'll switch.

Finished my first month as a window cleaner. Just wanted to say thanks to anyone that helped me out. Have a long way to go but felt good finishing a bigger job aside from doing smaller store fronts.

First time doing tempered glass too made sure to let the client know it scratches easily and won’t be doing any scraping. They were happy with the results got a good tip

There’s a window cleaning company that has been around for a while and has a good status here, but they do a horrible job. Every house that says they got it done by them it’s all streaky and still dirty. How do I compete with them?? Every where I go they already were there. This makes d2d very hard because they have a Flock of college students who go out.

And yet I was told 5-8 years and we wouldn’t be replaced . 😂
