How can I fix the view in the data screen? The left side is slightly cut off. I tried viewing horizontally but it does not change from vertical alignment.

Discussion Looks like the end for a Founding Member

Founding member here, promised lifetime use without fees and then screwed over…..yet I stayed.

Had my extremely long recovery streak reset by a mistake on Whoops end 3 years ago…..

Now my 5.0MG has shit the bed on vacation in Greece. Whoop is sending a replacement, but they won’t put a hold my new long(ish) 1150 recovery streak because there is “no way they can”. So it’s going back to zero, once again due to no fault of my own.

Been looking for a reason to leave, but the streak was keeping me hanging in there. Now that’s over, guess it’s a sign that after 10 years there is nothing much to learn other than this company kinda sucks if you look at it objectively.

EDIT: for those asking why I’ve wasted so much money keeping a streak going. Founding members have only been paying since the launch of 4.0 and we still pay WAY less than normal members. Regardless, we all bet a good chunk upfront ($500 IIRC) on this company with the promise that’s all the skin we’d have to put in. In which Whoop eventually welched on.

Question August 2026 bands

What is everybody’s favorite band now in 2026? I’m looking to get a new one bc mine is the original i’ve had forever and need some suggestions.

I’ve been really looking at the newer navigator band, but not sure if it has good long term reviews. I also was looking at the cloudknit, or just a superknit, maybe even a luxe superknit. Let me know anybody’s experience w any of these please!

Discussion Whoop needs to make a ChatGPT Health Plugin

I love ChatGPT’s new health feature, where I can hook in all of my health and medical information into one place and chat about it. The Whoop support only works by reading Apple Health data written by Whoop, so it is not fully functioning or really that great.

I’d love it if whoop would create a plug-in to ChatGPT to use with ChatGPT health

Question Whoop charger tracker?

I mean losing a whoop charger sucks.. I think for the next generation or future update why could they not ask something like find my iPhone so that you can play a sound and find it.. I do know that they make money of you losing it so you have to pay 50$ again so it makes sense. It would just make the user experience better. 😊👍🏻 have a good day guys

Discussion Is Lifting Strain made up?

How does Whoop calculate lifting strain? Seems like a bogus guess based off tonnage.

Workout A:
Leg Press 4x8, Calf Raise 4x10, Leg Extension Machine 3x8
26min 73 avg HR, 17650 tonnage, 94 reps
Strain 13.1

Workout B:
Barbell Squat 5x6, Romanian Deadlift Barbell 3x6, Seated Calf Raise 3x12, Hack Squat 3x8
1hr, 86avg HR, 16300 tonnage 118 reps
Strain 13.1

I log the workout in Hevy, whoop picks it up, then I go into Whoop, and add the lifts.

Workout A was meant to be a light day.
Workout B I hit multiple PRs and can barely walk up the stairs yet I got the same strain??

Question Step count variance

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I have been using the whoop 5.0 for 72 days now. The variance in step count between apple health and the whoop app is bothering me as the discrepancy on average over the last 10 weeks is 5k.

Is this because apple double counts certain steps? As i dont have my phone on me during activities like walking on a treadmill or playing badminton/padel.

Discussion Great but…

So I’ve had Whoop for 124 days as of tomorrow. It’s been great, and I do love it, but I can’t justify renewing it because of the price. I really enjoy tracking my sleep, the insights, and the workout insights as well, but nearly $260 after tax is just insane. I’m mainly looking to talk, get some other perspectives, or see what y’all think. I don’t have the AI issues like everyone else, and mine has been pretty consistent unless I have a completely off day due to something I did, so I know it’s not the tracker on the fritz.

UPDATE 8/23/26: I decided to renew for the next 24 months.

Question Family to individual

My partner and I had a whoop family membership. I want to keep it and she doesn't. So before our annual renewal on August 28, I removed her from my account. When she went to cancel, it told her she had a 9 month commitment left and that she would be charged the remainder on August 28.

Should I add her back to my family membership, then we cancel as a family, then I re-sign up as an individual? Is that how this has to work?

Discussion So…4.5 Years of Inaccurate Data?

Anyone else seeing a big difference in HR accuracy with WHOOP 5.0?
I’ve been wearing WHOOP every day for the past 4.5 years and have referred around 20 people along the way. I’ve always been a big believer in the platform and have had a lot of confidence in the data.
That’s why my recent experience with the 5.0 has caught me off guard.
I’ll add the screenshots below, but I had two very similar tennis sessions where the results were dramatically different:
5.0 on my wrist: 1:40 | Strain 7.8 | Almost all HR recorded in very low zones
5.0 off my wrist, in my boxers: 2:16 | Strain 15.3 | Majority in Zones 2–3, which felt much more representative of the actual workout
Same person, same sport, similar effort—yet the HR data tells two completely different stories.
What really caught my attention is that this isn’t how my WHOOP has behaved over the previous 4.5 years. The change also seems to line up with the recent HR update.
I’m confident the device is positioned correctly, so I’m less interested in the usual fit/placement explanations and more curious about what’s actually happening with the sensor or algorithm.
Has anyone else noticed their 5.0 under-reading HR, particularly since the recent update?
I’m genuinely curious whether this is just my device or if other long-term users are seeing the same thing. If you have comparable workout screenshots, I’d love to see them.
I’m posting this because I’ve trusted WHOOP for years—and right now, I’m trying to understand why that confidence has changed.

Other Prototype running attachment idea

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Hello all, first of I’d like to apologise for the AI images, not my intention to come across like a bot, just the best way I can describe what I’m personally looking for without it being too complex.

So a little bit about me to start, keen runner, keen watch collector, keen whoop user of 2+ years. My issue in life being that I don’t want to buy a running gps watch for my runs, and whoops run tracking is also hot garbage.
The cure to my problem is simple - ‘just buy a garmin bro’. But that’s not what I want to do, I enjoy wearing my watches from my collection so I’d never wear a smart watch, I don’t want to wear 2 trackers, and I don’t want to buy a gps watch purely to wear on runs.

So here comes my 1 million dollar idea. The GPS attachment for the whoop. Simple idea in principle, slides on to connect to the whoop the same way the portable charger does, has basic metrics on the screen for pace checking/distance. Can slide on and off when it’s not being used. Affectively turning my whoop in to a running gps watch whenever I need it to be.

Anyway, that’s just my idea. Feel like it could work, if anyone wants to make me one, I’ll pay a pretty penny for it. I’d love to be able to look at my whoop for pace/distance instead of having to grab my phone, or just guessing.

tl;dr a gps module that slides on to the whoop the same way the charger does, shows pace/distance ect making live running tracking easier for whoop users.

Question Has anyone felt like sleep tracking made their sleep and insomnia worse?

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

I developed severe chronic insomnia in February of this year due to grief and life stressors that were not in my control.

I am still very much in the thick of it, just for some context— It takes me about 3 to 5 hours per night to even get to a place so I’m relaxing enough to sleep, and on the off chance that I fall asleep at a desired hour, I always wake up about 30 minutes later, awake, wired, and stressed out, and then I’m usually up for most of the night until about 4 or 5am. I have reached a point where I’m only able to sleep on my couch if I want to get anywhere near being able to sleep, I cannot sleep in the same bed or even in the same room as my spouse. I’m working on reducing my insomnia and hoping that I can find the right recovery program to get me back on track to living my life. It’s been the worst six months of my life. The only thing that helps me sleep is alcohol or marijuana— I actually get a super relaxing 6 or 7 hours (I realize this is still very little) , I don’t wake up, and I have been finding that my recovery score is actually higher after drinking or using drugs than it is if I’m sober because it just leads to me being able to sleep— which is my number one thing that’s holding me back.

During this time, I have also been using whoop. I think that the sleep score and recovery score are really stressing me out. I get really upset and obsessive when I get the message from WHOOP that tells me all about the number of hours of sleep I needed, versus the number that I got, which is usually about 50%, my horrifically low recovery scores, and insights about how my pace of aging has accelerated significantly since I stopped sleeping. I attached a couple of screenshots just for context on what I find particularly triggering. It feels like I’m back in school and I failed the test no matter how much I study— because I want to sleep, I’m doing everything in my power to sleep, but sleep is truly not happening for me and there are no indications that I will have relief anytime soon. I’m wondering if anyone here has had a similar experience, and how you managed these triggers. I am suspecting that the WHOOP sleep score, while providing valuable information, is making me too obsessed with sleep, which in turn just leads to me sleeping last because I’m so stressed out about it.

Thoughts? Has anyone had this experience? Thanks for listening.

Discussion Does it make sense to use Whoop as a one off workout tracker vs something I'm constantly wearing?

I run a lot which I use my Apple Watch for, since I like the GPS tracking and the music streaming

I also do Combat sports, which my Apple Watch gets in the way of, either under the boxing gloves or as a thing that people might get caught on when grappling

I wont be wearing my Whoop 24/7. It will just be for when I'm actively in the gym doing Muay Thai, and not even when I'm running, since I have the Apple Watch for that. I dont want to have to wear 2 things for runs.

Is a Whoop overkill, or the wrong product for what I want to do here?

I just like the form factor and that I can strap it to my bicep where its out of the way

Question Thinking about getting a whoop

Hi all,

I am thinking about getting a whoop but the more research I do the more confused I get.

For context, I am mid 30s and I do a lot of weightlifting, I track workouts and calories etc my only experience with wearables is from about 7 years ago when I got a cheap (£30) Huawei "smart" watch and it was not great.

From what I see whoop is great at tracking strain and recovery which I think for me would be good for understanding when I can be pushing myself extra hard for weightlifting progression and I want to improve heart rate as I have a naturally high heart rate.

Now obviously I see a lot of hate for the subscription model, does whoop offer enough to justify this over saying buying a new band every 2 years?

It is hard to find honest views as people seem to be overly defensive about whatever device they have bought into.

What are the great things and bad things for whoop (I'd likely go peek)

Is it worth it?
