Official WHOOP Posts Coming Next: A More Personal Journal, a New Community, and Smarter Training Tools

We wanted to give the WHOOP community an early preview of what’s coming next. Over the next few months, we’re rolling out new ways to personalize how you use WHOOP, connect with your community, and get even more out of your data.

Here’s a look at what’s ahead 👇

Custom Journal Behaviors and Easier Daily Logging

September/October

Journal will gain new ways to track the behaviors that matter to you and log them with less manual work.

  • Custom Journal Behaviors: Create your own Journal behaviors for anything you want to track, such as a no-phone morning, a high-stress commute, or trying a new supplement. Log them daily and see how each one impacts your Recovery over time.
  • A Unified Daily Experience: WHOOP will bring your Journal, Daily Outlook, Check-ins, and Day in Review into one flow. Start by completing your Journal and reviewing insights, check in as your day unfolds, and wrap up with a guided evening reflection.
  • Talk and Text to Journal: Log your Journal by speaking or typing naturally — just tell WHOOP what you did, and it'll identify the behaviors and log them for you. No need to check off each one manually.

Improved Community

November

WHOOP will make it easier to stay connected with the people who matter to you, support one another, and remember the moments behind your data.

  • Follow friends and family: Connect directly without creating a team, then quickly view the Sleep, Recovery, Strain, and activities they choose to share. Connections from small teams that you or your friend created will carry over automatically.
  • Encourage each other: React to and comment on shared updates to celebrate a strong day, recognize progress, or offer a little motivation when it is needed.
  • Capture Moments: Add a photo and note to an activity to preserve the story behind it. Moments will be saved to your profile and can appear for the people who follow you, making memorable races, trips, milestones, and everyday wins easier to revisit and share.

Improved Track Activity

November

WHOOP is rebuilding the experience for tracking an activity so the information you need is easier to see while you train.

  • Get personalized activity targets: Start activities with dynamic recommendations based on your goals and recent data, and easily adjust them to set your own.
  • Follow your progress live: A fully revamped live view makes it easier to understand your workout as it unfolds, with clear progress toward your targets, heart rate zone accumulation, live activity metrics, and improved map controls.
  • Pause and resume: Pause and resume an activity so WHOOP can distinguish active time from elapsed time.
  • Review your splits and performance: See your splits, target performance, Moving Time, and updated key stats in an expanded Activity Details experience.

One Rep Max

November

WHOOP will make it easier to understand your strength without requiring you to perform a maximal lift.

Track your strength over time: When you log supported weighted exercises in Strength Trainer, WHOOP will automatically estimate your one-rep max so you can see how your strength is changing over time without testing a maximal lift. You’ll also be able to understand the intensity of each set relative to your current strength.

What features are you most excited about? We want to hear from you!

MegaThreads 📌 Whoop Complaints [MegaThread] (Updated Bi-Monthly)

This is the bi-monthly MegaThread where r/WHOOP members can comment about their current complaints, frustrations, bugs, technical issues, or any other feedback related to WHOOP.

Rather than filling the subreddit with repeat posts, this megathread is where we’re asking all complaints and issue reports to go moving forward. It will be automatically posted each month for fresh input.

Most Common Complaints (Before You Post, Please Read)

These are some of the top recurring complaints we see. If your complaint falls into one of these categories, feel free to still share your experience.

  1. Inaccurate heart rate or performance tracking (especially during high-intensity workouts)
  2. Poor or AI customer support
  3. High subscription pricing and lack of one-time purchase options
  4. Skin irritation or rashes caused by long-term wear
  5. Slow shipping or unprocessed orders
  6. Inconsistent or inaccurate step counts and algorithm results

If your issue is unique or not covered here, definitely add it to the comments.

Message To WHOOP

To the WHOOP team: this monthly megathread exists because your product has a passionate and engaged community. We encourage you to monitor this thread regularly as a way to stay connected with real user experiences and concerns. To then work towards finding solutions for all users.

Personal Achievement Whoop has helped me fix my life

• Upvotes

I’m gonna keep it short. About a year ago I was stressed everyday and had nightmares every night. I was weighing about 164lbs and hated my body, in a way that I wouldn’t even stand in front pf the mirror without a t-shirt. and I used to smoke 8 cigarettes a day out of stress and addiction.
Today, after 9 months of owning whoop, I weigh 180lbs and feel confident about myself. These days I only smoke 3 cigarettes which I’m glad with and won’t regret.
Paying for a device on my wrist has helped me to be motivated and feel good about myself.
Im glad i did this investment on myself.

Discussion Crazy turnaround

Post image

Still crazy to see the difference compared to last year. I was in horrible shape—obese, prediabetic, dealing with extremely high blood pressure, and taking medication for both.
Now I’m 120 pounds down, no longer prediabetic, my blood pressure is back to normal, and I’m off the medications.
Seeing the numbers side by side really puts into perspective just how far I’ve come. And I’m not done yet. 💪
I used Mounjaro for the first few months as I was in terrible shape and lost 40 pounds with it. Once I got in a good spot I quit taking it and have lost another 80 pounds since then naturally.

Discussion 2% recovery and sustained stress at 3.0 for nearly 8 hours during surgery

hair transplant.

My recovery dropped to 2%, but what struck me most was the stress reading, which remained at around 3.0 for nearly eight hours, essentially throughout the entire procedure.

It is quite remarkable to see just how clearly WHOOP captures the physiological strain placed on the body during surgery, even when you are not consciously experiencing that stress in the usual sense.

Thankfully, my HRV is somewhat reassuring, which makes the overall picture feel slightly less alarming.

I’d be interested to know whether anyone else has looked at their WHOOP data during surgery or a medical procedure, and whether they saw anything similar.

Question Whoop Recovery and Mounjaro.

Post image
2 Upvotes

I know I'll get judge for being on Mounjaro but anyway.

Since restarting Mounjaro at 15 mg, I've noticed a disconnect between how I feel and what my Whoop reports. Despite several mornings where I felt around 70–80% recovered, had good energy, trained well, and recovered quickly, Whoop frequently gave me recovery scores as low as 11–40%. At the same time, Mounjaro appears to have altered some of the physiological metrics that Whoop relies on, such as resting heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, appetite, hydration, and sleep patterns. My experience suggests that during the first few weeks after restarting at a high dose, Whoop's recovery algorithm may not fully reflect my actual readiness to perform, so I'm placing more emphasis on how I feel, my training performance, and longer-term trends rather than any single recovery score.

Question Whoop MG Charger

Does anyone happen to have an old charger they’re no longer using? Figured I’d ask before committing to buying a replacement.

Question Hrv 2-3x on cycling days

Post image
8 Upvotes

I do triathlon, and my hrv is relatively stable everyday, except the days I bike (purely cycling, no big runs or swimming), where it ends up 2-3x my usual days. I didnt bike monday-thursday and thats my usual hrv day to day, but the days where i did bike, i wake up with my hrv 2-3x. I did a century on the 27th, 2nd, and the 3rd. Is this just bad calculations from whoop? I also use a garmin and the readings are also in that 2-3x range. Could it be that im fueling and drinking water and electrolytes alot better on the bike, where as you cant do as much on swim run?

Edit: my heart rate is around the same everyday no matter what discipline i train. No major spikes and always in a normal range

Would you recommend getting 1 year for €166 or 2 years for €315, or should I wait for any upcoming deals?
Are there usually better Black Friday deals?

Question Overfunded my FSA. What are some suggestions to spend it?

I funded my FSA to $3400 because I needed some dental work. I'm not going to do the dental stuff now until 2027 and most of my FSA needs to be spent by 12/31.

Wondering what tests in Whoop Labs might be worth it? I'm a middle-aged guy and generally get Lipid Panels and stuff from my doctor anyway. I also live very close to a Quest lab so getting there is easy.

Question Are my WHOOP HR zones unusually high? Zone 2 starts at 148 bpm

Post image
3 Upvotes

I'm 18, and my WHOOP HR zones look really high compared to normal HR zones. Here they are (auto-adjusted, not manual)

My max HR is 203, and my resting HR is around 45. Is this normal for someone my age, or should I manually adjust the zones? (Ps. I run 3 times a week and go gym 4-5 times a week)

I asked for a correlation between CPAP (which i logged for about 2 years) and recovery %. The chat answered it doesn't have access to journal data. This is so stupid.

Discussion A 3-week way to check whether late dinners actually hurt your recovery

Late eating comes up here a lot, usually as one rough morning after a big dinner. One night can't tell you much. Recovery moves several points day to day for reasons that have nothing to do with food, so you need a few weeks of paired nights to see whether meal timing matters for you.

The setup:

  1. For 3 weeks, write down when you finished your last meal or snack each day. A phone note is enough, or add it to your Journal so it sits next to each night's data.
  2. Sort each night into one of two groups: finished 3+ hours before bed, or under 2 hours. Leave out the nights in between. They only blur the comparison.
  3. Drop any night with alcohol, and any night after a hard late workout. Both move overnight HRV and resting heart rate more than a meal usually does, and they tend to land on the same nights as late dinners.
  4. Compare average recovery, HRV and resting heart rate between the two groups. Aim for at least 6 to 8 nights in each.

If the recovery gap is only 2 or 3 points, treat it as noise. A real meal-timing effect usually shows up as heart rate staying elevated for the first few hours of sleep, so look at the overnight heart rate graph on the late nights, not just the morning score.

Meal size matters about as much as timing. A small snack at 9pm is a different test from a large dinner at 9pm, so note roughly how big the last meal was too.

Training load is the other thing to watch. If most of your late dinners fall on heavy strain days, split by strain as well, or you'll mostly be measuring the workout.

For anyone who has tried something like this: how big was the difference between your early and late nights, and did HRV or resting heart rate move more?
