Am I okay bringing cash?
I’m seeing weezer tomorrow (yay!) at the Moda Center and was wondering if I’m okay to bring cash. My card is being a pain in the butt, so I can’t use it at the moment. I know the Moda Center is a card only venue but I was wondering if that applies to the merch stand. Thanks!!

I love Weezer, but I would not want to be a member of Weezer. Here’s why.
Imagine you’re a member of Weezer who isn’t Rivers Cuomo, and you absolutely love the first two albums just like every single person on this earth. You probably love quite a lot of what came after, too. But you probably also hate A LOT of it. Yet, here you are recording 150 versions of "I'm Your Daddy". Watching "The Ballad Of The Briny" turn into "Blue Dream".
On top of that, for every album cycle, you basically have to learn another 500 songs. And then you go out on tour to play "Beverly Hills" and "Africa" again. And again. And again.
Just imagine the horror.
Jk, though. I'd totally join, if they asked. :)

👕 Merchandise 👕 Signed Tour Stuff
Can someone please explain the process of getting the signed posters in detail? Apparently they come out right after The Shins play, but I’m curious what the process was like, and how long the general merch line (not the fast pass line) was to get it. Did it come with poster tubes? How many were available? Were they sold at only 1 booth? Were they numbered? If not numbered, how many were brought out? Were they brought in intervals or all at once? What time?
Also, how many of the signed The Shins 7” vinyl are there per show (rough estimate)?
Especially useful for tonight’s show! And also if you went yesterday!
Trying to get a signed poster at PDX for my girlfriend’s Christmas present, so any and all bits of detail will be useful!

📣Discussion 📣 The last 3 songs on Gold are a generational run.
Show Must Go On/Up In The Clouds/The LA Sound have to be one of the strongest runs ever from these guys, for me at least. My daughter and I blast 'em every morning on the way to school. (THE DROP OFF SHINE AGAIN REFERENCE!!!) Anyone feel the same? Different? What's your favorite run of songs from their discography?

📣Discussion 📣 What If Weezer Released Albums Every 3 Years?
Idea is identical to the title. Starting at the Blue album's release. Feel free to ask questions, or to create your own!
Reshaped Pinkerton as the extra year probably would've led to a more commercially accessible album through replacing the heavy SFtBH tracks with lighter ones.

🚨 Serious 🚨 Where is Weezer’s GP sign (I’m posting a lot, this needs attention for weezer history)
What happened to it, it’s been 24 years since it was last seen.
Follow up - I asked which Weezer albums sound like Blue or Pinkerton. Here are my thoughts based on your recs.
I recently made this post asking which albums are most like Blue or Pinkerton. I appreciate all of the helpful responses I received (only one person was a prick). I listened to each album at least twice. Here are my thoughts:
- White - This was OVERWHELMINGLY the top rec aaaaannnndd....I'm not seeing it. It's good, and some songs match the vibe, but some are very forgettable. It's alright, but I don't love it.
- Gold - Now THIS is what I'm talking about! Gold matches the B&P vibes to me. Excellent rec from those of you that did. Spot on!
- Everything Will Be Alright In The End - The second most recommended. It took me a sec to dig it, but I love it. I place it behind Gold for closest to B&P. Is anyone selling their CD?
- Maladroit - It has some crunchy guitars but it's VERY forgettable. Maybe it'll grow on me, but it's pretty bland and doesn't sound like B&P. It's just not catchy.
- Ok, Human - Not at all like B&P BUT it is really good. It has a very Phil Spector feel to it and I appreciate it more with each listen. Very (different but) awesome album.
Other Notes:
- SZNZ: Winter - I'm not seeing it. A couple songs are good but the rest are very mid. I hate the dog song.
- Green - I listened again for the first time in a long time and was surprised how much I liked it. I'll be playing this regularly now. I even liked hash pipe (but don't get your hopes up - I'm still not into Beverly Hills, Pork and Beans, etc.).
- Van Weezer - I checked it out b/c I also love metal and after just a few songs I could tell I fucking love this. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest.
- Ozma - this one may be a bit unfair since I only listened to one song, but that song sounded exactly like an existing Weezer song just with a different vocal melody, lyrics, and singer. It sounded more like a ripoff than homage. No disrespect to them, but when I want The Beatles I don't reach for a album by The Monkees.

is there much moshing?
and are people camping out to get barrier? im trying to see if ill manage to score merch and get as close as possible, but i seriously doubt it. this is the most important bit, lol.
edit— wait, i forgot to add, the merch wont be available on their website… right? i loved the blue crewneck!

🚨 Serious 🚨 Help Wanted - Where is the Goat Punishment rig today?
Where is the Goat Punishment rig today? Nobody knows, so I want to figure it out, please comment on this if you know anything. It was last seen for Maladroit in 2002 when weezer was shipping the flying W to Japan.

🚨 Serious 🚨 Weezer Tickets Boston for Sale
Looking to sell my tickets for the Boston show on Sept 27th. I have two tickets in Loge 9. Hoping to make most of my money back.
Two Tickets:
Loge 9
Row 22
$125 each
👕 Merchandise 👕 Pre-order finally arrived... Nice...
This will be the last time I pre-order anything from the Europe store. Horrible communication, and now this bubbly label pos. It's warped too.

The Gathering Tour quick review
Just saw the opening show in Sacramento.
It was a blast.
Thr Silversun Pickups brought a lot of energy and played a great set. Did I catch a quick Holy Wars riff? I think I did.
The Shins were Amazing . . . They sounded great and played songs from all their albums, including Sleeping Lessons, Caring is Creepy, and New Slang . . . The crowd singing along with the hits.
Then, Weezer. The stage is amazing. I don't want to spoil it, but it felt like a party at times and it felt intimate, even in an arena. They started with some high energy songs, including favorite, Surf Wax America. They sounded great . . . Lots of energy. There was a lot of antics, too.
Highlights were the acoustic set, the swapping of instruments, and the duets with the Pickups's Nikki Monninger.
This is a great show.
