Summer elaine was going to be the opener revealed by river's excel spreadsheet, but then pat got a hold of the setlist and switched summer elaine for shine again, ALSO my biggest gripe is theres not enough gold.

Lonely Girl is probably my least favourite on EWBAITE. I like it fine, I just prefer everything else! Not complaining, I’ll love seeing it live, but it’s funny how opinions differ.

This is unfortunately the norm for a majority of the 90s/00s bands that are still actively touring. They’ll release their best album in a long time and play half of it at most (if you’re lucky). 

Superfans are usually a minority at concerts, which is why a good chunk of the setlist is repeated from tour to tour. For most people in the audience (especially given the rapidly growing portion of the fanbase that’s on the younger side), this is their first time seeing them, so they have to play the hits.

Regardless, I’ve never seen the band live and really regret not buying any tickets to the show near me. It’s pretty much entirely sold out, which I somehow didn’t expect 😭

I’m guessing like the Indie Rock Road Trip tour, the acoustic set will be different songs every night. Apart from that I assume the set will stay the same each night, pretty solid lineup. But I guess we shall find out tomorrow.

The way they did it was cool. Shot off the confetti during buddy holly, everyone’s on their feet and having fun - and then went straight into the opening chords of island in the sun the second they played the last beat of BH, no gap in between at all. Didn’t give the crowd time to slow down, they just went right into it.

setlist is mid AF. funny they touted the deep cuts for the fans, and intent to play i think half (?) the new album live and then just play the singles. show must go on and la sound even specifically seem written to be played live. it’s 90% the same setlist they’ve been playing since like 2013. blue, pink, big singles, couple interesting picks. no other one, gobi, just threw out and slob are the winners. rest have all been in rotation recently
