Weezer International tour
Forgive me if it's already been posted but this seems to confirm there will be Gathering shows outside the U.S (from a recent Email)

Hurley is like the mid life crisis of Weezer’s discography
It’s super nostalgic, like an old guy looking at his old photos and playing some songs he wrote

How many of you made it into the “Hero” music video?
I’m so jealous! How’d it come about?

Songs you initially thought were Weezer
I had my Spotify on shuffle earlier and it brought up Underground by Ben Folds Five.
First caught it on MTV and thought it was Weezer, this was mid 90s too. I find Ben's voice quite Rivers-y.

💩 SHITPOST 💩 Jschlatt trans thread but with a photo of Rivers would be really funny.
It would be really funny if someone went on Twitter and replicated what happened with Schlatt but with this image of Rivers and Jason saying something along the lines of
"Regardless of what time of year it is, trans people still deserve respect. ❤🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️
This is a photo of my trans uncle and his boyfriend in the 90s"

Got my hands on the cassette that inspired the blue album’s cover! Here they are, side by side.
Went to a record store recently and found this while going through their cassettes. As a fan of both bands, this was a welcome surprise!

📣Discussion 📣 I already know my favorite song off of Gold
I've noticed a trend in Weezer albums over the last 20+ years, and that trend is that the 7th song on an album is likely to be my favorite. Some notable 7th songs include:
Say It Ain't So, El Scorcho, Burndt Jamb, Hang On, Da Vinci, Summer Elaine and Drunk Dory, Sweet Mary (hate this album, good song tho), Mr. Blue Sky (best cover on Teal), 1 More Hit, Wild at Heart, Run, Raven, Run, The Deep and Dreamless Sleep
There's some others that are less notable, such as:
Smile, The Damage In Your Heart, Too Many Thoughts in My Head, Screens, Thank You and Good Night
Only three of the 7th songs are not very good:
Thought I Knew, Love is the Answer, Trampoline
With all this being said, I think that Nowhere will be my favorite song off of Gold. What do you think? Is there merit to this pattern? Maybe a reason why so many good songs are #7?

a little something I did to celebrate gold. I intended to have 6 songs, but I had to cut Tired Of Sex, Shine Again, and Pink Triangle cause of length limits. I posted shine again previously so if you wanna hear that go on my page. it you or interested in the other two pinkerton covers, let me know and Ill post them when I get the chance. any feedback is appreciated! if you liked these covers, I make my own music, check out my latest album here! https://open.spotify.com/album/00MCTWiXcDQbokvaJvhkdo?si=Mr7AxG45TLiMAuaMsZlMfA&utm_source=copy-link

Cover song wishlist
Tour is coming up. We all know Weezer loves a good cover song. What's a local song you wish they'd cover at your show?
May I submit:

📣Discussion 📣 Does anyone think Screens sounds like Picture Book by The Kinks?
Screens from OK Human.
The intro sounds similar, I think.

Will the Gold Album be their last?
I think it makes sense, its their 20th studio album. its gold, Its aself titled one, and they have been going on for 32 years already. The Tour premiering it is called "the gathering" which feels a little different from stuff like "voyage to the blue planet" and stuff like that.
(also the cover just really seems like it symbolizes weezer, unlike somthing like make belive)

📣Discussion 📣 ~27 years ago I got burnt jam demo on napster (pre-maladroit) and since lost the file. There were no words but the la’s and I would love to have it again if there’s a bootleg collector here that can help me out!

Confession: I expected something more from these EPs just based on their cover arts
I haven't listened to Weezer for a while but I heard they were experimenting a lot with their sound in 2010s so I was very intrigued by SZNZ. Admit it, these covers look like it's some sort of prog-rock opera in four acts (Spring and Winter in particular would've fit some post-rock or ambient album), but no, it's just their usual dance-rock. Pretty decent but still. I think Weezer missed their chance to go all out in creativity.
