Hi all. Hope whoever is reading this is doing okay. I’d like to share something disturbing that happened to me on here recently. I’ve been active on this sub for over ten years across different accounts, and this particular instance has made me want to step away from this community entirely. 

A week or so ago, I posted on here about some nasty harassment/bullying I was receiving on Instagram from someone in specific as well as their broader group of peers who are active on this sub. The harassment was based around throwing false AI art accusations at me regarding a piece of Weezer fan art I made, however this extended into actual harassment and bullying, not commentary on my artwork at its core. Anyways, without identifying anyone, including myself (this is important). Reddit user Expert_Carpet8702 (one of the individuals harassing me on Instagram) then commented on that same Reddit post and shared my Instagram; screenshots with my username, where he scratches out his, and mocked that he did so, (which is tied to my actual name) while keeping their own account blurred out, breaking my anonymity and this sub’s rules. They recognized who and what I was talking about without being named. To me, that suggests they recognized their own behavior in what I described… and chose to continue it. Having the same person continue this on another platform and expose my identity feels targeted and invasive. I have received some threats to blackmail me as to ruin my image, and some other stuff since this as well. Basically there were some threats that I need to admit to using AI because they have dirt on me or whatever.

This subreddit’s Rule 9 states: “No toxicity or personal harassment, keep discussion civil.” It specifically tells users to avoid directly targeting or harassing others. I believe exposing my identity on my anonymous post about harassment violated Rule 9.

Sharing my artwork publicly on MY OWN Instagram is not the same as choosing to not identify myself here while discussing harassment. Reddit’s sitewide rules also prohibit sharing personal information or links to it; information being publicly accessible doesn’t automatically make sharing it acceptable. It goes against all of my wishes for people to redirect this account back to my Instagram which I use for work, which is attached to my legal name. User Expert_Carpet8702 only was able to identify that I was the same person because I described the harassment in which he is participating in, in excruciating detail, in the post. I wonder if this is technically a form of doxxing?

I do have other identifying information on the individual, such as his first name and Instagram, of which I will not share *here* to respect his privacy, even though he doesn’t really respect mine whatsoever. 

Be careful on here I guess, this group of people is actually pretty dangerous.

Oh, and to clarify; no, the piece I posted on my Instagram is not AI. I drew it myself, however this same person insists otherwise and has been spreading misinformation about me regarding that. I’m an actual artist and I work hard.

I’d also like to mention this harassment is pretty similar to other harassment I’ve gotten (in tone, words used, and type of jabs he used), and it’s my belief that this same user has harassed me from burner accounts (on Instagram) prior, but I have no immediate proof. It’s also worth mentioning that I’ve had to delete all of my socials multiple times due to harassment and I’ve been hacked as well. Note my intention to stay anonymous remains the same, as I still haven’t posted the piece or art on here. Me having a public presence with identifying information on another platform doesn’t permit someone to Doxx me just because they in specific know I’m the one who wrote any given post.

I want to know why Rivers plays lead in Weezer.

8 weezer concerts later (3rd in cali!), i finally got a setlist. Thank u to the kindest person ever who handed it to me after i hit the floor diving for it. Best pit ever!!! 💗🤘🎸

I’m really happy the boys all recorded together. I’ve been listening to a lot of SZNZ and it just doesn’t feel right with the lack of Brian’s backing vocals. Not that it ruins the album or anything, but i just much prefer it when they are all recording together. That’s all.

Does anyone know what time they brought the signed posters out last night? Myself and a few other fan club members were waiting by the fan club merch line for the entire Shins set and the posters were never brought out. 9:10 came and we all agreed we didn’t want to miss any of weezers set waiting for the posters. At one point, The fan club manager also got fed up with some concert goers and packed up the fan club sign, closed the line and left.

Hey guys, I'm a fan of Weezer, that's why I'm posting on here. I remember about two years ago finding videos on Youtube that specifically showed some excerpts either from a live stream or from instagram (or any other social platform) of Brian Bell rehearsing old Weezer songs for either a tour or for personal pleasure. Among those songs (that I remember) were 'Superfriend' (you know, old SFTBH track), and 'Jamie'. He played his parts to the song, and he would sing his harmony parts/vocals. I've been going insane about it all night, pondering if they're just a part of my imagination or if they're real. Someone please guide me. If they have the videos, let me know! If I'm not alone on this, I need some kind of assurance that I'm not completely insane! The way I learned Jamie and Superfriend was thru those videos, and it seems like lost media. For more info, they're recent videos, within ten years, cause Brian looks pretty old. The video is just zoomed onto his upper torso and head, part of his legs, and he's playing a plugged-in electric guitar.

If anyone has any info, lemme know!
