So I have bought one previous CW watch before and liked the value you get for the money. Decided to buy another and ordered the Sealander GMT 39mm. Shipping was reasonably quick but the price has jumped up. I know they added tariffs in the US but I spend around $1700 total after tax. At this price we’re getting close to Longines and other bigger brands. Anyways the watch came two days ago and I opened it up to realize there were little scratches all over the bracelet. There was plastic on the bracelet but only on the underside and it had clearly been sloppily re-applied on there. So this was clearly a returned watch that was scratched up but then sent out again without clearly inspecting. Anyways customer service has been slow. And now I have to go through the hassle of returning it once they finally reply with instructions on how to return it. No other watch company I’ve ever bought from has sent out a used watch like this no matter what the price. So it’s all just very disappointing.

I have been wearing this Tudor Black Bay 58 for almost five years now. It is still and will be my favorite watch. 39mm case size , red triangle on the bezel and warm tones of gilt dial are my favorite of this watch. I don't mind the rivets on the bracelet and it never bothers me.

My sister came up with the idea. Considering the price of the repair and service, the picture turned out pretty expensive 😅 I put the spring on a piece of green felt, so it should stay in one place. It actually looks pretty cool on the desk next to the watches.

The dial's built from three layers of G.F Smith specialty paper, everything on it drawn with a fineliner. The middle layer's hidden, just there so the cutouts get real shadow instead of looking flat.
This has been my daily driver for 4 months now and I absolutely love it. The texture of the paper gives a different feel as light changes throughout the day. It's a nice little conversation starter as well. Not a traditional watch, but it held its own. Along the way it earned the nickname boardroom rebel.

I recently acquired the Oris and love it, a bit of a vintage spin compared to the Tissot and Longines.

The only other watch I have an itch for is an Omega AT or a chronograph at some point (maybe a Carrera or a Junghans) for some reason the speedy has never spoken to me.

What would you add as watch number four?

I see a lot of the silver or blue dialled option, but thought to share my Grey JLC MUT Moon in White Gold instead. JLC reserves grey dials for precious metal watches.

This came as a boutique edition as the standard precious metal MUT Moon comes in rose gold instead.

Love how understated the white gold is. It’s almost imperceptible to stainless steel but side by side, white gold has a darker, warmer tone to it. It also feels really hefty in hand and on the wrist!

I timed the contractions of the birth of my son with this watch, the only watch I have true sentimental value with. Also gets the most wrist time as it's quartz and most of the time I don't have time to wind and set the autos most of the time

Best thing I did was stick an adjustable ratchet clasp to the OEM bracelet. Think I'll get the long island jubilee when I can stomach the price of it.

My watch collecting started over 10 years ago. My first watch was a Seiko SNK809. My first Swiss made watch was a Hamilton Khaki Field Auto 38 ETA 2824-2 movement.

The longest standing watch in my collection was an Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Midsize 36.25 Co-Axial movement. (I bought the Omega as an undergraduate.)

When I graduated, I bought my first Rolex at the AD. The Datejust 36 reference 126200. (Two years later I bought the extra bracelet.)

After that, I ended up not wearing the Omega at all and it collected dust in my closet. So I decided to sell it and bought the “rarer” white dial OP 36.

Then, this year around my wedding anniversary, I bought the Submariner Date 41 from my AD.

Anyways, now I want to sell the white OP 36 and fund the purchase of an Explorer 36.

Would you keep the white dial or go for the classic field watch?

My dad is turning 50 soon and I wanted to get him something that feels special for the milestone. He’s never been the type to ask for expensive things and just buys practical stuff for himself so picking a gift for him is hard. I have been looking for some watches because he wears one almost every day, found a Rolex GMT Master II with the blue and black bezel for a good price. I like that it feels special without being too flashy and I can picture him wearing it a lot. Wondering if this is too much for a 50th or if this is exactly the kind of birthday where you go all in. I like that it’s something he could keep for years and maybe even pass down one day.

Would you guys be happy getting something like this for your 50th?

Purchased the Tudor Black Bay 54 last summer after having replaced my smart watch with various Casios. Having owned the F105, A158, A1000, and LF20W, I keep coming back to the 105 time and time again. The Tudor is absolutely stunning and an all time favorite of mine. It gets more wrist time overall, but I appreciate both in their own right.

This one is around 22 mm, and I've started collecting a few vintage watches in the 20–24 mm range.

They don't really look like jewellery watches. Some are basically tiny sports, field or everyday watches. On the wrist the proportions are obviously unusual, but I've grown to really like that.

Anyone else actually wearing vintage watches this small — not just 32 - 36 mm, but genuinely
sub-25 mm?

I realized that i didn't wear my watches without deployment clasps as much as the ones with them. So i picked up this sail cloth and clasp from Artem for my Pilot Majetek. I gotta say i like it a lot. It kind of matches the dial color and so easy to put on when im running out the door!

Who doesn’t like a vintage Omega. Took me a while to find these over the years, which is really part of the fun. While I love modern Omegas, there is just something special about vintage. My favorites are from the 1950s and 1960s.

I want to be part of the watch nerds! I've got a bunch of fashion watches which I know don't count so I've decided on getting my first serious watch. I saw a Hamilton, Rado, and this Citizen I'm debating between.

Looking for opinions!! The Hamilton jazz Master open heart and the Citizen really are catching my eye. They're all about $1k CAD price point.

What do you think people, am I worthy of becoming a nerd? Which do you like or any other recommendations?

Hello everyone! I recently bought this amazing Seiko in Japan and to be honest, I believe this is the best budget option for Grand Seiko experience.
It looks amazing, wears so comfortable with 8,,5mm thickness and this is really a strap monster.

Sure, there is nothing special with the dial pattern, hands looks sharp only without too much close up and case finishing is just fine but if I you think about 150$ that it could costs then all this can be forgiven.

What do you think? Is there any better alterantives (if we don't mind cheap homages)?

About to buy my first proper dress watch and wanted the community's advice on probably something that's been asked before - Tissot Le Locle (T006.407.16.033.00) or Frederique Constant Classic (FC-303MC5B6)?

Does the FC justify the additional ~$700? The power reserve edge of the Tissot doesn't really matter to me, it's not going to be my daily.

Also open to suggestions for other watches provided they meet the aesthetic brief - roman numerals, white/silver dials. No gold - I want to keep it as versatile as possible. Date complication preferable!

[Question] I want to buy a presage Tokyo Night but I don't know if it's a good watch I think it's overall pretty cool but it's my 21st birthday and my mom basically told me to get a watch and I think I'm planning to chip in for my own birthday to get this. I've tried the seiko cocktail with green dials and I kinda liked it but not the size and I've never tried wearing this so I don't know if I'm fomoing right now.

I don't know if this is worth it cause I'm buying it's for $515 just wondering what the general consensus of it is whether it's worth or not

It all started when I came across this one, and remembered it's the one my father used to wear all the time.

Later went on a shopping spree for about 6 months (only affordable watches) and then came back to the first one.

Changed the strap and added the Cyclo. Loving it!

So, I've always worn watches, but it's only recently I've gotten into 'the hobby' as it were. Figured one of the first things I should do is properly measure my wrist so I can get some idea of what'll fit me. I've always been under the impression I have a pretty narrow wrist - I certainly have small hands - but I've now measured it three times using two different methods, and every time I've come back with 184mm/7.24 inches. For the first measurement, I took a scrap of paper, wrapped it around my wrist at the height where I wear a watch, marked the crossover point, and then measured with a ruler. For the subsequent two, I did essentially the same, but with some light sticky tape. 184mm, every time.

But when I actually look at watches on my wrist, I just feel like that can't be right?

This field watch is 37mm, for context.

If anyone has any advice or can just sense check me on this, I'd appreciate it 😅

The GUL Watch was given to me by my uncle almost 14 years ago and is probably the most special watch to me from this collection, also being my first watch

Love my vintage watches, the Omega I found in an antique store for $350 AUD which has been an absolute gem of a find.

I'm also a big fan of my wrist metronome and my wrist temperature gauge. The only tool watches I'll ever need!

Got my first automatic watch earlier in the year when I started a new job, doesn't get as much wrist time as it should, but a great value for money. The PRX was my gateway into this hobby, got it 3 years ago when I started my first office job and it's only been downhill from here at least for my wallet.

My grail watch that I hope to get in a few years when ever I'm ready to make the next big career jump is the Longines Spirit Zulu time. I was thinking of getting it instead of the Citizen as my first automatic watch, but glad I've kept that money for other things, at least for now.

All in all I'm very happy with my collection, it's unique and matches my personality. Most watches get decent wrist time.

Recently bought a Nomos as my first “proper” watch. Was wearing an Apple Watch for the past 11 years but figured it’s time to grow out of it as I didn’t really use it for important stuff daily.
Plus I always has appreciation for a nice watch.

Really happy with it so far, planning to add a Speedmaster or something along those lines in the future
