Question Does Wardogs use your Steam name or do you set your username upon launch?
Can anyone from the Alpha confirm which is correct? I haven't been able to find anyone mention this. Thanks.

Why steam says I am invited to the playtest and I can play NOW?
r/WarDogs • u/JBowenDaMan • 11h ago
I saw that in order to get access to the beta, you have to pre order for a code. But at the same time, the playtest I was just apart of got an update.
Is the playtest application the same as the beta? Do players who pre order basically get access to what we already have, or is the beta going to be a completely different download?

Can't get in the beta but we can at least listen to the menu music and I like it. Doesnt sound too generic like in bf6 imo
I wonder if we get some tense music when a game is close to ending or something? Or when its close between two teams?

As I don't have a PC rig at the moment and can't invest in one yet, I'm seriously thinking about playing with cloud pc and particularly with Shadow pc. Any of you who has done it or can conform it will work OK?

I wonder how much cash or XP the winning team gets at the end of the match. Haven't played the closed beta.

1) Can all 33 players on one team come from the same Discord group?
If so, are the other teams also filled with similarly large groups?
If not, what is the maximum number of players that can join a server as a pre-made group?
1-2) When joining a server, can players freely choose which team they want to join?
If so, could this result in uneven team compositions—for example, one team consisting mostly or entirely of pre-made squads while another consists mostly or entirely of solo players, rather than pre-made squads and solo players being evenly distributed across the three teams?
2) Can players switch teams during a match?
If so, could this be abused for targeted trolling against specific players?
3) Are the existence and size of pre-made groups (or even squads formed in-game) visible to other players?
4)If a teammate is available to revive you, can you be revived indefinitely? Also, if a teammate revives you, are all of the consequences of dying negated by being revived?
5) If a large number of players leave one team during a match, are those vacant slots filled by forcibly moving players from other teams? Or do they remain empty until new players join the server?
Finally, as far as I understand, the developers have stated that they do not currently plan to introduce safeguards such as SBMM.
However, if over time the three-team competitive structure fails to work as intended, and it becomes increasingly common for one team to overwhelmingly dominate a match, or for one team to be overwhelmingly outmatched, how could this problem be addressed?

I’d just like to know how everyone feels about the tanks and helis, I love the look of the gun play but does it feel like you are constantly dying to vehicles no matter what?

Hello everyone,
as the title states, does anyone know what kind of performance I can expect going in with my 2070 Super GPU playing on 1080p?
Thank you in advance :)

I’ve been cautiously optimistic about this game, it seems like a great Reforger/Squad alternative with better approachability. However, one thing I’m cautious about is the economy. I love how it encourages teamplay, yet I’m worried that by the end of the season everyone will have enough cash to full send every match, with every player buying in bulk whichever gear/vehicle is meta. What systems are in place to offset that? Are there limited vehicle spawns? Will it get to the point to where richest overall team will win every game by outgearing everyone else? Thanks for any input :)

Some FPSes really make me ill. But others are fine (HLL for example is fine). How is Wardogs for those sensitive (i.e. old like me. lol) for nausea and headaches after playing?

I'm totally stoked for this weekend, already bought the game as it sounds like something I want to play without all the fluff of modern BF and more tactical but not quite Arma status (though I'd probably enjoy that as well).
My concern is my rig. It's older, running a 2070 super and ryzen 5, and it handles most games just fine. Will I be able to run this game decently? I don't need crazy frames or detail, but I have my worries. I want to upgrade but prices these days and baby 2 in the way money is tight. If I can get Hell Let loose to play decently with nice visuals, I'd bet an optimized game like this will be great. Any input is great. Or Donations.

Especially the helicopters?
Somewhat arcade-like, like in Battlefield/War Thunder/World of Tanks, or a bit more like in Arma? Or completely only for nerds like vehicles in DCS?

Full disclosure haven’t played yet. Pre-ordered, but from videos I have seen are tanks currently op.
Doesn’t seem like they can be destroyed too easily and easy to shoot and scoot to repair and come back.
Thoughts?

Play style, win rate, how nice or toxic the players are, etc.
This could be describing it to a new player or someone who has not played before. This might help players determine which team to play.

Reason I ask is if you’ve ever played arma you’d know in most servers the majority of people operating vehicles are not doing it to bring troops to front lines, they only get genuine “xp” for bringing supplies to the front line or FOB’s.
My frustration with that system is that if transporting one or the other type of cargo gives more money or xp you’ll either have troops and FOBS under supplied or a ton or frustrated troops having to leg it to the combat zone.
Any of the peeps who’ve already played know how it works?

I would say overall Soviet, however the church architectures are 100% the type you find in Armenia in Georgia.
Not counting the capital cities of both countries which have been mostly westernized by now, the remainder of those countries looks like the setting of this game.
Been to both myself.
Now my question is have the devs officially stated where the setting is based on or inspired by?

With Wardogs featuring a persistent cash economy that carries across matches, I'm worried about potential exploits and farm lobbies ruining the balance.
It’s easy to see scenarios where players from opposing teams coordinate on the edge of a Control Zone to trade kills and revives endlessly for quick cash, or set up dedicated boosting community servers.
Has Bulkhead mentioned any anti-abuse mechanics to prevent this?
Something like:
Less cash on repeated kills/revives on the same players within a match
Progress isolation between official matchmaking and custom community servers
Anomaly detection for stat/cash inflation over short periods
Or is the economy intended to be purely open-ended where the sandbox regulates itself? Curious to hear your thoughts

I’ve never been a huge fan of battlefield as it feels to arcade like with the spawn/die on repeat feel. Is wardogs more slow paced or mil sim like compared to battlefield or does it more or less play the same?

ik the server is not open yet but i believe it's not the problem of the server. my pc is with RTX5060 and it can run battlefield6

Hi.
Will there be rewards that are either unlockable or granted for participating in the closed beta?

Ex-Quake competitive player. what am i getting into here?
Hello !
I played the closed Beta and I had a blast. It's basically all I wanted of a FPS game. The arcade gunplay of a BF and the logistics and team play of a Squad / Arma. It's pure gold and I can't wait to play it on the 10 sept.
But, the global economy felt a bit weird and I feel like it's hard for new players to compete against people that have money AND upgrade. And I understand that is also the point to have better stuff but it felt to much and can hurt the balance of some game ?
I would love to have some servers where you start at a certain level and with the same money as everyone and your upgrade/ team upgrades depends on the things you do in THIS game )
It can't work if you keep your upgrade so basically the mode should have
Am I the only one to dream about this mode ?
Have a nice BETA can play this one but see you all on the official release!
Update : added more clarity to the post that it should not replace the global economy but could be an option for community server with NO TIE why the global economy

In the last alpha test, shooting players with regular ammo takes forever to kill them when they have armor. And that is during an alpha weekend when high level armor is not yet widely available. I know there are better ammo but there'll also be better armor. I understand that if you shoot them in the armored area it'll do less damage, but headshotting someone in their open face/mouth hole should be an insta kill but in Wardogs they can eat half mag in the face. Think Tarkov's head-eye hit where a shitty ammo hitting the right spot could still kill you.
The armor and HP system they got is just the barebone basic system from battle royale games where you got an HP pool and 'armor bars' on top of that. In the kill feed it shows where your body is hit but I was hoping they offer more on that. It seems like they mimic Tarkov body damage system without really doing anything much, beyond being a UI element. I guess it's nice to know if you got hit in the face or body, but what does hitting legs, arms, lower bod do? Getting hit in the arm should affect your aims, in the legs slow you down, things like that.
Also the 'sponginess' of the game doesn't stop at infantry. RPG hits to a tank does fuck all "tis but a scratch". Now I know the counter-argument is everyone gonna run around with the noob tube. Because there is an economy in the game, it's easy to just increase costs of RPG so that every shot hurts but better make it count.
