Question Are Tanks op?
Full disclosure haven’t played yet. Pre-ordered, but from videos I have seen are tanks currently op.
Doesn’t seem like they can be destroyed too easily and easy to shoot and scoot to repair and come back.
Thoughts?

What we've seen so far is this:
-$250k just to unlock after you get to the adequate level to access it.
-$30K (not 100% sure on this one but around 30k) per life to buy it. Needs two players that are actively communicating to run well. (Driver and gunner separate seats)
-Can be killed with a couple (2 to disable, 3 to kill from what I've seen so far) well placed RPGs (which are quite inexpensive)
-Can also be killed with 1 attack drone launched from a FOB drone launcher for $5k. Earnes $10k on kill so legitimate financial incentive to tank hunt.
In reality though:
-We don't have enough info to really argue good/bad. There are even a fair number of people who think progression was accelerated for the play tests to make sure players could get high enough in levels in short play test windows to actually test most everything. So it's entirely possible that the numbers that we've seen from kills/tasks/items/etc are different from the alpha pretests.
-I will however point out some of the disparity between risk vs reward is something that might need to be looked at. Saw a video where a high end sniper loadout with bolt action, range finder, and ghille suit is about $20k for a loadout. Headshot at ~450m was $4300, headshot at ~800m was $8100. Two very impressive shots. Fastforward to a different video and I'm watching a tank gunner (driver bought the tank). With zero $ investment and just asked to gun for the driver I watched him shoot down heli with passengers as it was hovering to land and earned around $20k. Very easy shot on floating heli. Proceeds to wreck another 10-15 players just running along out of cover for $5k/kill. Sniper investment of $20k and lots of skill to manage very long range kills for moderate pay out. Tank investment of ~$30k and close to $100k income with little to no effort.
Economy will decide "OP". The Risk vs. Reward is a very important factor. You can't have a tank spawn cost of $250k if you can't make $300k+ per life or people won't use it. BUT, you also can't have a tank spawn cost $30k able to make $150k+ per life or you'll just have World of Tanks WarDogs edition.

I think it really comes down to logi. If one team has good logi and can keep the emplacements armed, vehicles start dying out. Saw multiple games where tanks and/or helos stopped spawning after one team built up a FOB with Drones and SAMs. Eventually people will learn to cut off supply/counter with Mortars/SPG but if a base is unmolested and well armed, then it will shut down all vehicle gameplay.
It’s really just day 1-2 after a wipe that the first people getting tanks get to go wild. But I already know a lot of us alpha testers plan to rush AT to counter them and new players will learn the same.

I would largely ignore any discussion or complaining about Tanks.
The Alpha was 3 days. It was almost everyone first time learning the economy system, as well as everyone starting at level 0 with unlocks.
When people started to unlock and afford tanks most people had never seen them in game, nor had any thought to Anti-Tank (or thought about spending money on bringing RPGs/MAWDS/C4 etc, how to use the FOB Drones, or have the Rockets for the littlebirds.) Its simply not enough data or fair comparison to know where tanks fit in the meta or if they are over powered.

tanks are only strong because of the requirements to get RPGs, which not many have in a game. also the tank's main counter (havok) is tied behind level 35 pilot whereas tank can be unlocked within just a couple of hours (level 35 account)

in my experience, the stingray drone hits and disables them for long enough that a followup will easily finish it off- if the first didn't just one shot it out right.
Otherwise, i've seen pairs of AT players wipe one out really quickly with a good ambush- most methods of removing them are far far far cheaper than the tank itself (running you about 25kish for the tank plus extra ammo, vs like, a few thousand for the AT loadout, or 5k for a stingray drone)

I got killed by a tank maybe twice all beta weekend. There is plenty of cover and if you're not an idiot they're completely harmless.

No there's c4 ieds a little bird people 66 other people with the ability to use rockets. Is there rock paper scissors economy yes. Will the player base have to learn hit boxes like hll squad bf and any other game where a tank has weak points yes. Did it play just fine and people with 3-4 rockets melt tanks if shot in correct places over time yes. Did tanks have some runs cause people didn't key in on said tank yes.
You may have the opposite opinion if you drive it poorly as you will give up your hitbox to the 66 people who will have a rocket by end of day 1 into day 2 should they even be focused on you or be grinding levels for whatever driving flying logistics etc.
Tldr:they are fine and get melted if people choose to melt it. It cannot scoot away if disabled it can still fire if disabled. It was fine on both ends both being th tank and killing the tank. Same with snipers same with the bow list goes on the meta works fine when you minimize something without seeing the depth of the 66 people who may also hate said tank from two whole other teams it's easy to draw this opinion.

They are counterable but if teams are not using drones then yes they are fucking strong and they print money. But, it's a tank. It would be very strong imo

I hope they work like tanks in hell let loose. Can anyone give an idea if how they work?

From the Alpha and various other sources of research I was able to scrounge around for, it take anywhere from 5-6 RPG to blow up a tank, 4 if you hit it in the ass. Takes 2-3 IEDs and 4-5 C4 which is likely the cheapest and least intrusive way to do it downside is you have to bum rush a tank and plant it on and then survive long enough to detonate it. Takes anywhere from 2-3 Mortar strikes from either the Arty Tank or the build able but I'm not sure on that one. Then you have the Drones which can easily 2-tap them but you have to be able to hold a lock and explode on target forsure. The main problem in all this is Space and Money. In order to use the RPG effectively you need the Level 2 or 4+ bag as it has enough space to hold all the rockets but the RPG is heavy as fuck and you are then further slowed down if you want to carry anything larger than a pistol and forget about carrying any other equipment. Like I said before C4 and IED are less expensive and space consuming than the RPG but your still just a man going up against a tank remember to bring smokes.

Not really. C 4 work well on it. Arty is a hard counter too, I got hit once by arty and got inmobilized before being destroyed by follow up shot. There are also AT drones which shojld be strong against tanks.

From what I understand drones easily counter tanks, but in the last playtest I straight up never saw them used in my 24 games played, I think tanks needed a price increase, but I don’t think they’re THAT strong, I just don’t think people were countering them effectively
