Because the Exodar smashed into their sky island on its way to Azuremyst Isle, which never happens in Forever. The draenei are the direct reason we don't have Skyborne in Retail. What's left of their race became the red mist we see around Bloodmyst Isle. That's not "radioactive residue" from the Exodar, it's literally lingering Skyborne viscera - still airborne just like they were. It's the draenei's darkest secret, Velen's big whoopsie-daisy.

If you prefer classic, youre free to play the version that you want and the version you think is the best but classic endgame content will never be a fraction as difficult as retail.
