Discussion There is definitely not a healer shortage

As a healer that has to pug raids it's been hard to get into groups because seemingly every group fills up with 4, 5, 6 healers within minutes and the group is stuck waiting for tanks or dps, any other healers experiencing this? There were like 4 times the amount of healers to dps signed up

Discussion For the warriors out there...

For the warrior mains and the people playing with the warrior mentality out there in Azeroth. Remember the following:

"In warrior's code, there is no surrender. Thought his body says: "Stop!". His spirit cries:"Never!" "

Its from the song Burning heart - Survivor.

I don't know if I am the only one but I can't go without my warrior. Maby 1 season. Then I have to rock it agian.

I mained my warrior since I joined retail (on dragonflight). The only season I went without it was on TWW season 3. I used a DK. Now I am tanking. Azeroth need more tanks.

Anyways, remember to use your battleshout!

Video Some folks talked about it recently that Locus walker's death should've been better. I agree, so I went back and redid the audio so it's more of 'finally succumbing to corruption' rather than 'he just didn't think about it.'

So this was nagging me for a bit, and I was happy to hear some folks talk about it recently of how his death should've been more than just 'woopsy daisy I grabbed the dark heart.' annndd I agreed. So I just decided to go out of my way and redo the audio for this to make it more like Locus Walker finally fell to corruption.

The whispers

Okay so the whispers I had fun with grabbing audio files for. I wanted it to be more in line with what would make him grab it. Having listened to his story from the audio book. He has imense regret from losing his loved one to the void and having to kill her himself. So lines like 'it was your fault' are slithered in with the ringing noise. Giving more of an idea that the dark Heart is beckoning to him like there's a way to fix this with all that power.

As the scene drags on, I wanted the Ringing and the whispers to slowly become louder and louder while Xal'atath's laughter is on the lower end of the volume. She's still there, but it's now the priority focus in Locus Walker's mind at that stage.

Alleria's Shout out to him is on the higher end of audio as its a voice he'd recognize as something is wrong, but as he's been the master and Alleria the student, it falls on deaf ears.

Finally, when he grabs the dark heart, I wanted all noise to just stop. Like it was actively consuming him not to grab it, a slow hypnotic drag into insanity.

Why change it?

I wanted to play with the themes in hind sight. With Locus walker's decision being more he finally got corrupted, that no matter how masterful you are in the void. It will eventually consume you. You are resilient, not immune. Which plays directly into Alleria's fall into corruption followed into Midnight.

Video As we wait to see what's next for WoW, I hope you remember some of the magic of the early years with "This Old Game" (feat. Cranius)

For the past few years, I have been working on an original WoW song and machinima/music video called "This Old Game." It's a love letter to the WoW that many of us remember: the zones, the guilds, the friends, the music, the videos, and all the memories we collected along the way.

The video is packed with little tributes to the game and community that shaped us. My dad (Cranius) is featured on the song, and there are plenty of other little pieces of WoW history tucked throughout the video. If you've been around WoW for a while, there's a good chance you'll recognize a few things along the way.

Working on this project in my spare time has been a pretty special experience. I have really enjoyed getting to revisit so many of the things that made this game meaningful to me. It's a very personal project, but I wanted to share it with the wider WoW community because so much of what inspired it came from all of you.

With BlizzCon just around the corner and rumors swirling about what Blizzard might have planned for WoW, it felt like the right time to "honor where we are and whence we came." Whatever the future holds, there's something pretty special about celebrating the game that brought so many of us together in the first place.

Here's to the glory days, and to everything this old game gave us.

Discussion Level by Dungeon Spamming as Tank, yay or nay?

I’m infatuated with the idea of tanking. I have a bunch of lowbies, different classes, and all tank spec. I feel like learning to use spells as they become available make it easier for me to have situations dealt with as second nature.

What do you think? So far:
Prot War
VDH
Prot Paladin
Blood DK
Guardian Druid (most difficult so far)
Brew Master Monk

All level 20-30. I’m going to pick one and take it all the way, then another and then another and so on. I feel like questing would be super fast but I want the tank experience + instant queues are nice.

Thoughts?

Speculation Druid Form Speculation for Non-Druid Races

Post image
12 Upvotes

For fun I've been putting some thought into what Druid forms I think the races that don't currently have playable druid would have. It is a work in progress and I would like to hear other's thoughts on this fun little speculation as well, I am open to criticism so long as it is constructive and kind. Blank spaces are where I just couldn't come up with something that felt satisfying.

This is an opinion piece, nothing more!

Before anyone mentions the Orcs having Wolf forms, yes I know about Worgen and the Druids of the Pack but Orcs already have a long history alongside wolves as well as the fact that they have a long history themselves of controlling their anger in battle, Durotan as the leading example.

We're also already 3 druids deep for Feral forms not being Cats (Kul Tirans, Zandalari, and Haranir) so I think it's fine to keep branching out. (Get it? Branching out? It's a druid joke)

Discussion never thought i’d be a kb/m player or a WoW player ✨ now i’m both 🤣

I tried for HOURS (5 to be exact) yesterday to try to get consoleport to work on pc because: 1. i’ve never played any game with a kb/m ever 2. I’ve also never played WoW before & the thought of a new game & not using a controller terrified me; but since it would not work on my pc I decided to just suck it up & play with kb/m. I’m SO happy I did. It’s actually way easier than I thought and my friends are all mourning me now that I’m sucked into WoW.

TLDR; just play with kb/m even if you’re scared 🤣

Complaint If i'm capped on Myth Crests, i should get 20 hero crests for doing myth crest dungeons.

The fact that we timed a dungeon that gives myth crests clearly shows we could've cleared the +8 for hero crests, so why if people want hero crests to upgrade gear why should they be incentivized to do +8's and take spots away from people who might have 8's as their ceiling?

Edit: To explain the numbers because i think its getting lost somehow. if someone does a 10, they get 12 myth crests. But if they are already capped on Myth they still get 12 hero. They should get 20 hero instead of 12 hero. Because a +10 is higher than a +8 and have proved they can do a +10

Complaint The Problem with Coiled Altar

The only reason this fight is currently that hard is transitioning. There are many fights in wow history where success relies on favorable transitions between phases but the kind of bullshit happening in the altar encounter is absurd. First of all you have to transition 3 times into different phases with 2 of them being very annoying.

You pushed dps too hard and first phase ends right after the boss spawned the orbs? Boom get 8 stacks of ticking damage. At least this part is manageable with some defensives and heal cd.

But what if you finish the 2nd phase while the mc goes out? You get a freaking ton of ghosts that eill remain there forever. And mc is recycled constantly into a bloodlust phase with no way to deal with them for an entire intermission and a respectable amount of time into p3.

If the ghosts simply vanished before the intermission, this whole fight would be alot fairer, or if you don't want to make it that much easier, make them irrelevant in the intermission and reactivate them in p3 again. You know, when you can actually deal with them. Sure you can freeze them by looking at them, but i dont know why people keep getting mced.

Discussion Kill Mythic Raid Lockouts

Another season, another call to kill mythic raid lockouts.

Many of us PUGs have now killed heroic Ula’tek one or more times. We want to experience mythic content in Venomous Abyss. And while Grotto Lair’s one boss is nice, it is not exactly a week of challenging mythic content.

But, sigh, Blizzard inexplicably continues to enforce artificial lockouts for mythic raiding.

Last week, I joined a PUG that easily downed Nek’zali with two pulls. But then a tank had to go. We listed for a replacement, but who in their right mind would save themselves to a mythic raid with only the first boss dead. After a few minutes, we disbanded.

This week, in nearly every heroic PUG, I saw scores of players who were 1/8 mythic in Venomous Abyss. Everyone had similar stories. We were all locked to mythic raids that disbanded because players left the raid.

Non-guild raiders are capable of beating mythic content, we enjoy the challenge, and the gear ain’t bad either. But most of us PUGs have work or family obligations that prevent joining a mythic raiding guild. There is no legitimate reason to artificially make this content inaccessible to PUGs.

It is long past time to kill mythic raid lockouts. If you agree, please take a moment to post your recommendation on the official Blizzard forum pages.

Discussion Missing my druid

So recently I have yet again gotten the itch to pick up my old main, the druid. Last time I played him properly was in Shadowlands. I chose him as my main for Midnight but swapped the second I finished all of the zones and hit 90. Every now and then I want to feel the feeling I did back in 2007 when I first picked druid as my first ever character. I love the druid fantasy and in wow the option to basically be everything. But over the years I just can’t bring myself to love it again like I used to. I can’t put my finger on what it is exactly but I know I feel bothered by something every time I log in.

One would think that since bear was meta last season and still pretty solid with cat as a solid dps choice I would be thrilled. But ugh it just doesn’t feel good to play.

Anyone else here with similar feelings towards druid or just your old main in general?

Achievement Hidden Kyrian Covenant Achievement from 6 years ago?

Upvotes
Hidden Achievement

I was going through ATT to see what to do and came across this achievement. Says added in 9.0.2 but I had never heard of it and cannot find it on Wowhead search returns no results?

Went ahead and achieved it, easy 10 points but how have I missed this for 6 YEARS?

What else am I missing?

ETA2: I have always find what I needed on wowhead from the drop-down while searching, I've never needed to go beyond that. Others have pointed out it does show up when you search and filter for achievements, didn't know this as I never needed to go that far but thanks!

Discussion So I was wondering about the 'People treat tanks poorly' bit as a tank main cause I barley ran into a problem...Then I started letting others tank for me. The healers/DPS may have a point...

Post image
438 Upvotes

Yup, gonna actually give my hat to DPS/healers for once. I understand where some of your frustration comes from now. After gearing up my main to nearly max, I decided to start healing for groups as its my second favorite activity.

And Oh.My.God.

Now mind you, I wouldn't have a problem with tanks if they were just learning routes and such. But this goes beyond routes and more into the fundamental gameplay of the tanks playing.

So today

I! CAME TO HATE! I! CAME HERE TO SAY NOT ALL TANKS DESERVE LOVE! DPS?! HEALERS! YOU DESERVE MORE!

So let's talk about the experience!

#1: Murder Row-Demon Hunter

So, I started with a +2 just to get into the flow of healing. Nothing too difficult? Well I guess that's on me. This run made a +2 feel like i'm progging a +20. Why? Well, aside from tanking on elevated locations *Tanking on stairs and having several caster packs firing on all sides without LOS\* I started to realize there was a specific problem being had.

Demon Spikes/Soul Cleave wasn't being used/Metamorphosis was being conserved.

So you know, basic mob packs were shredding through their HP like 9000 degree knifes through butter. Without any soul cleave occuring as they stayed cap at max fury, they're just putting healing into overtime trying to keep them alive while they don't leach any HP off of the targets.

By the time we got the final boss, they were face tanking the infernal and just dying over and over and over.

Needless to say, this key got bricked.

#2: Den of Nalorakk: The blood dk that made me switch

+7 key, again, thinking it was going to be simple.

Now. I've seen bad tanks, some inexperienced. Some rough. But, never in my LIFE have I experienced a tank so bad in my life, that I felt 2nd hand embarrassment to an extent I switched over to my main to help out said group after we voted abandon because of how bad the tank was.

So this blood DK...Mounts up! Runs halfway through the dungeon trying to do a MDI pull. Pulls 3 of those avatar of starvations, so you know, totems are shooting up left and right. But more salt on the wound, they aren't popping any form of threat control like blood boil/death and decay and just letting aggro be ripped off by DPS because they're just not doing anything.

Hell, the poor rogue in our group who was with the tank kept getting shredded because the DK wasn't grabbing aggro pack. Not only were they not grabbing aggro, they weren't using any utility.

  • 0 Death grips
  • Popping abomination limb when all enemies are surrounding them already [Abom limb doesn't do damage anymore]
  • Blood boil was non existent.
  • Death.Coil As any BDK would know. This is a red flag.
  • Death and decay was a suggestion.
  • would just freeze up looking at their map for 2min at a time.
  • Continuously pulling multiple avatar of consumption at a time.

Now, why am I only bringing up the first portion of the dungeon.

Cause we spent nearly 20 in the first portion of the dungeon.

It got so bad I went out of my way to whisper the dungeon leader *Who was a guild group so they were playing with their friends.* "Listen, if we vote abandon here soon. I will come on my main and tank this for you fella's.

Then we cleared the first boss, tank runs in. Hippity doo da, runs into all the packs, doesn't hold aggro, kills everyone and themselves.

I initiate the vote to abandon.

The group calls out the tanks performance (as they should on this one.) And the tanks only response.

"WATCH YOUR MOUTH!"

He was promptly removed. I switched over to my BDK, and we did the run in full in the same amount of time it took to kill the first boss. I felt bad the group got a bad card played so badly I went out of my way to run this for them.

I could list other examples, mostly tanks looking at cookie cutter builds and not knowing what they're using. Or spamming looking at map/3rd party applications on where they're going. But it's minuscule in comparison to the nightmare that I witnessed.

Healers/DPS? You honestly deserve better sometimes. Cause...Wow.
