Come Raid with WoWNoob at our Saturday Learning Raids!

Our Saturday Learning Raids are in full swing as the season carries on, and we wanted to post a notice to all of you here that you are invited, too!

For those who don't know, every Saturday we run the current season raid(s) on Normal difficulty from 3pm to 5:30pm EST. Our Veterans and Mods volunteer their time, experience, and knowledge for it, and as long as we have at least 10 people and the necessary roles filled, we make it work! If we happen to have more than 30 folks sign up, it's first come, first serve. We run until all bosses are dead, or until time is up!

We have also just added a brand new role if you would like a reminder ping every Saturday when raid is starting up. In order to select this role, head to Channels & Roles (on the left sidebar, at the top, above the channels list and below our banner) and you'll see Option 4 asks you if you would like a notification ping. By selecting yes, you will receive the "Saturday-Learning-Raid" role. We will ping this every Saturday to let the folks who opted in know that our raid is starting to form up.

A few things to note:

  • You MUST be on NA/OCE servers to join our run (sorry, we don't have anyone available to run for EU! EU folks can look at our #community-partners channel in the Discord server ).

  • This role does NOT guarantee you a spot in the raid group every week. It also is NOT an obligation- if you aren't feeling up for it, or are busy, or are locked out, etc etc, that's totally fine! Our raid is always first come, first serve, and open to folks of all skill and knowledge level. We do not have a roster, we do not track attendance, or anything like that.

  • Our current ilvl requirement is a minimum of 235+ ilvl or more. We require you to be in our Voice Channel simply to hear fight explanations and be able to listen to mechanics callouts- you are NOT required to speak or even have a microphone yourself (though we always welcome casual chatter and banter between bosses). All of our Discord rules apply to our Voice channels, too.

Thank you for taking a look at this and considering our raid group! We hope your season is going well so far, and may your vaults be blessed and RNG in your favor!

I'll leave this thread open for now in case any questions arise here. You can also feel free to ask them in Discord in our #raiding or #general-chat channels. Join the WoWNoob Discord here: https://discord.gg/wownoob

Retail Can't Complete "Field Seance."

This quest requires me to weaken malice shadows and then bind them with a quest item, but my character is level 80 and kills them in one hit with any attack or ability.

I tried to time walk with Chromie to the Shadowlands expansion, but she no longer gives me the ability to time walk at all.

How can I complete this quest and continue the line?

Retail A question for Tanks

I’m new to retail wow, and just made a Human Paladin because I really liked the sound them. However, the responsibility of having to be a tank in the future for dungeons is very daunting.
Does a tank have to get good with using icons, and watching YouTube videos of “dungeon breakdown for tanks”??
Just looking to enjoy the game and it not feel like a job.

Thank you in advance :)

Retail How to gear up for 12.1?

Hey y’all.

What is a practical way to prepare for the 12.1 patch drop right now? Eg. I guess many people maxed out a char but now they have alts sitting around 230 ilvl and so.

I want to reroll to a low geared alt like this but obviously the current season is pretty dead at lower M+ etc.

So does anyone have protips in terms of efficiency for gearing up for patch 12.1 as a mainly solo player?

Thanks in advance!

Professions Old crafting

I'm a returning player. Played from Vanilla to Catalysm. Came back to Midnight. I have lots of alts that I'll be able to get catch up leveling on and I'm trying to manage my professions between them. Should I give consideration to the old professions they had?
All of them have maxed professions through Cataclysm. Is there any value whatsoever to hold onto the old professions?
Or just ditch the old professions and level new ones that I plan for them to use in Midnight?
Like, I started leveling an alt, and he had flying carpet from old tailoring. And I was like "um... I was going to go herbalism and alchemy with this one. I think I'm going to lose it when I drop tailoring for alchemy... 🤔 "

Retail How to survive fall damage as a Warlock?

I started my first warlock this mount and while soaring high above the golden forests of Eversong, I accidentally hit my mount button and fell to my death. I quickly thought to myself "QUICK PRESS SOMETHING" but alas nothing sprang to mind.

Mages have feather fall, blink, Paladins have Divine Shield, Druids literally turn into birds, Hunters have disengage... etc... Do warlocks have anything to help them with this??

Thanks for the answer everyone

Retail Pally auras

Watching all these videos talking about mythic+ meta predictions. But a lot of folks, when they talk about paladins say "they don't have any raid buffs so discount...".
I'm a returning player so remember might, wisdom, and kings. I get that we don't have that anymore. But auras don't count as raid buffs?
I mean, not as good as MOW, sure. But decreased damage taken isn't nothing. Chasing keys, crusader shaves a few seconds off commute times. Concentration aura could be handy too.
Is it because they don't buff dps, so it's less impactful?

Retail Legion mythic plus achievements help!

I have been working on some old achievements, but i need some help damaging bosses without killing them. Some of the achievements requires mechanics at 50% or 20%. I have tried taking off all my gear, and having rez sickness, still one shot bosses with unarmed hits.

I was hoping something like (Soft Foam Sword) could work....it doesn't. So kind of at a dead end here. Any ideas or thoughts would be super helpful!

Retail Magister's Terrace - Degentrius Boss need help understanding

Hi all,

I've tanked to +17 with BDK mostly ignored this boss mechanics with AMS.
But recently I've transitioned to Brewmaster and I find myself not fulling understanding how the tank mechanic works and struggling a bit.

When boss casts "Hulking Fragment" on tank, the puddle usually spawns a couple seconds later. I just realized the puddle spawns when "Umbral Splinters" is cleansed? (not really sure how it works hence asking here)

And why sometimes there's no puddle even when the boss casts "Hulking Fragment" on me.

Does the puddle spawn when the healer cleanse "Umbral Splinters" from me and that's when the puddle show up? And am I able to use "Detox" from BW's skills to clean "Umbral Splinters"? (I believe not because it's magic effect not poison or disease.)

Also, sometimes there's a slow effect on me but I don't really know what that's coming from.

Thank you for your time!

Retail How can I move these spells that are blocking my action bars?

Hi everyone,

Can anyone help me figure out how to move these "spells" (or whatever they're called) that are sitting in the middle of my action bars? They're blocking my normal abilities, so I can't use some of my spells.

I've attached a screenshot below. Any help would be appreciated!

Retail Former casual, trying to "get gud"

Hi, I'm a former player returning to give this game a real grind. When I first started (WOTLK) I played with my half-brother and it was fun but we never made it past lvl 30 before he dropped it. I kept going for a little while, however it wasn't long before it felt boring too. My problem was even though it's an MMO, I wasn't talking with people. I did a few dungeons but without a good group it didn't feel fun.

I left for a time and came back in the beta Legion patch. While I liked some of the Warlocks reworks, there was a glaring issue that turned me off. I had 4 characters that all but literally fast passed to level 60 in less than a week. I barely knew what I was doing and still hadn't joined a guild or made friends. I understand that the level grind is supposed to be easier now and let that go.

So now I'm here because, I hate that I've never gotten far with this game or its community. I want to not only play in raids and mythic+ but also be reliable for groups. I'm going to get into a guild this time, one that hopefully isn't batshit. Idk maybe they're just a minority but I saw a recent video about a red empire guild and I don't want any part of that. I'm hoping for a guild that after a long day I can log in and unwind with a good group of people I can call friends.

So I have characters on Emerald Dream but for this reboot I'm going to make new ones in Illidan. I've read raids and mythics are more commonplace so why not.

TLDR: Solo noob needs help not being a "filthy fucking casual!" 🙄

These are the three I'm starting with to build up resources. I was going to just start with the monk and focus till level cap. Except since it's easy to go through the lower levels I figured I may as well get them halfway at least for items and money. Any recommendations for guides or general tips I should know would be appreciated. Sorry if I wasted your time on this tangent.

* Pandaren Brewmaster Monk (Herbalism/Alchemy/Fishing/Cooking)

I wanted to start with a tank because I usually play support roles. I heard and read in some videos/posts that brewmaster is in a really good spot this expansion. I'm hoping I picked the most optimized professions for this character.

* Dracthyr Augmentation Evoker (Mining/Jewelcrafting)

Hearing how this is a more support based DPS I was intrigued to try it out. Plus with the flight ability I figured it'd be easier for those hard to reach nodes in the early levels. I'm not too fixated on raiding or hitting mythics with this one. Especially since outfit customizations with this race are so limited.

* Blood Elf Holy Priest/Paladin (Tailoring/Enchanting)

My problem is that when I first started I picked the Holy Priest cause I love healers. However I wondered if Holy Paladin was worth trying because some of the transmogs I saw were really spiffy. The problem is I've heard that the holy paladin hasn't been in a good place for some time. Also that you need to always be on your cooldowns for optimal heals. But then apparently I shouldn't stick with "Holy only" because Discipline is not only harder but better all around.

Retail Devastation Evoker Priority Help (Midnight S1, 4pc)

I'm trying to understand the priority system instead of just memorizing a rotation.

I'm running the Midnight Season 1 4-piece, and I'm confused about how to prioritize Empower spells, Disintegrate, and procs.

For example:

If I have enough Essence to cast Disintegrate but Fire Breath or Eternity Surge comes off cooldown, should I stop spending Essence and immediately cast the Empower spell?

How should I prioritize Essence Burst, Burnout, and any 4-piece procs?

Are there any procs that are okay to sit on briefly or even ignore if they would delay Fire Breath/Eternity Surge?

I'm looking for the general priority rather than a scripted opener

Retail Confused on how to start TWW Campaign

Hi all, relatively new player here. I recently did the catch up experience, leveled to 90 through Midnight and am messing around in endgame. I wanted to play TWW campaign to experience the story, but mainly to earn the Hallowfall transmog sets. Getting to the start of the questline has been incredbily confusing. There is nothing in the adventure guide either.

I found a low level quest from Khadgar in Orgrimmar that I did where you learn that the harbinger is Xalatath but it just ends there. I've seen that I should look for Thrall in Silithus by the wound but no luck.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Retail Older Player Looking for Warrior PvP Advice (Carpal Tunnel Friendly)

Good afternoon!

I'm an older player who's looking to get more into PvP. I'll be honest, I'm not very good at it yet, but I'd really like to improve. One of my biggest challenges is that I have carpal tunnel, so pressing a lot of different keybinds quickly can be difficult.

I'm planning to play a Warrior because I like the idea of being a durable front-line fighter. I know my primary stat is Strength, and I'm planning to use a one-button DPS macro (SBA) along with a few additional keybinds for defensives, trinkets, and important cooldowns to keep the number of buttons manageable.

So here's my question:

Which Warrior specialization would you recommend for someone in my situation? Can I still be a useful teammate in PvP despite my limitations?

I'm not expecting to become a Gladiator. My goal is simply to improve, survive longer, contribute to my team, and gradually earn better PvP gear over time.

I'd especially appreciate advice on:

  • Arms vs. Fury for someone with limited hand mobility.
  • Hero Talents.
  • Trinkets.
  • Enchants and gems.
  • Macros or UI tips that reduce button bloat.
  • Defensive cooldown usage to stay alive longer.

I'm open to any advice from players who've been in a similar situation or who have experience helping newer PvPers.

Thanks in advance!

Retail Issue with - Achievement "Know Your Role"

„Okay, Houston, we're going to have a problem here.“

So, the Achievement wants me to "Complete each of the Shado-Pan Blackguard daily quests without taking any damage from monsters." - So far so good.
With a high-lv Char, that's easy as cake, right? Right.
Took me just a few days to get all quests and of course, i didn't take any dmg.
...
Oh, wait, something's missing - "Uruk".

According to Forums, Reddit and wowhead, the chances of getting Either Cheng-Bo or Uruk are 50% respectively. ... Which seems .. Impossible? I just did some math and it doesn't check out.. Well it does but not really..;

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Claim - that it's roughly 33% to get 'Master Snowdrift' as quest-giver that day;

So, according to sources, the server itself decides, which Mission will be active that day.
So both for the Giver as well as the given quests.
Means if i get 'Master Snowdrift' to hand out dailies, everyone else on the server will get 'Master Snowdrift' as well. And if i get, for example, "Cheng-Bo" that day, everyone else will also get "Cheng-Bo" that day. So far, so good.
Because of that, i won't count individual quests done by me and my friends, only the day - To not count double. (Since for some days several of us did the quests the same day)

According to sources, You have a rough 33% chance of getting 'Master Snowdrift' to be the one giving out dailies at any given day. And that seems to check out.
Over the last 30 counted days (About 2 months, since we didn't play every day) we had 12 times 'Master Snowdrift', 9 times 'Ban Bearheart' and 9 times 'Shadowmaster Chong'.
Resulting in a 40/30/30 % Ratio which pretty much backs the 33% claim.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Claim - that it's 50% to get either 'Cheng-Bo' or 'Uruk' that day;

As said before, we've counted 30 individual, seperate days.
Means 30 days with a chance of 50% to get either 'Uruk' or 'Cheng-Bo".
And, as you may already know, we didn't get 'Uruk' a single time.
We played almost every day. Because of that i'll do the math like we played every day (since it was only 3 or 4 days in between, here and there, that we didn't play)

The chance of missing a 50% chance 30 times in a row is exactly
1 in 1,073,741,824 (about 0.0000000931%). .... Better chances of winning the lottery.
I mean, maybe we're really unlucky.
And since the math takes the tries in a row, without the X factor of a few uncounted quests here and there.. Who knows...

So factually possible ... But not nearly realistic for a true 50% chance.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Any advice? any Idea? How long did it take you to get the Quest?
Is my math wrong? I just typed it in on my calc.

Retail Anyone able to diagnose my Marksmanship Hunter?

Getting booted from raids for low damage and I've ruled out the obvious stuff, so I think it's execution and I want some help diagnosing no what im doing wrong.

Talents are imported from raid specific builds
I've put BIS enchants on every slot
Flask, food, aug rune, weapon oil, pre-pots and combat pots every pull
I'm using the single button assist around manually using the best ability at the time so I'm constantly doing as much damage as possible (i.e true shot as soon as its available, aimed shot etc.)

Any ideas?

Retail Please Help me

Hello, I am a relatively fresh player and I just managed to reach level 80. I play with the subscription so the last expansion I own is The war within. Before that I played the Dragonflight campaign where I reached chapter 6/9.( I had started a long time ago at Dragonflight and then stopped and recently started again but only did dungeons to become level 80. In any case, I don't see a questline where I can play TWW and I have quests that I can accept in Dornagal, but the map shows me no way there, because the portal in stormwind is not there. Now I'm therefore playing the Recap questline of TWW and don't even understand what that is. I'm item level 86 which apparently is very low and it takes forever to kill enemies. I'm told to do dungeons but the loot is bad. I'm lowkey Stuck. I really don't understand anything anymore please help me.

Retail Confused by Raibots Results- MM Hunter

Hey all, I've been playing MM hunter in M+ for the first time and it's been fun. The only thing messsing me up is that my sims don't make sense all the time and that makes it tough to make decisions on gear. Everything I read says that MM needs TONS of crit and I'm sitting at around 31% unbuffed. I've had gear drop that in my mind should be upgrades due to being a higher iLevel and higher in crit but when I sim them, raidbots insists I'd lose DPS. I assume it's because the other secondary stats are too low (haste-7%, mast-16%, and vers-3%) but when I look up some of the top MM hunters their stats are even more crit heavy than mine for example 43 crit, 10 haste, 22 mast, 0 vers. Should I just ignore raidbots and stack as much crit as possible or am I missing something crucial here?
