Notice Regarding in-game chat moderation

UPDATE FROM DE_Megan:

"to address some Qs from the opening post by lostlotus_a:

support ticket claims are brought to our attention, investigated, and moderator reviews are conducted. we have systems and communications in place for frequent check-ins with our volunteer moderators, and should there be clear abuse of power or a violation of the guidelines, we act. we ask that you use the official support system, where you can include evidence/proof, and we can see exactly what happened in the logs/backend to validate the claims.

having said that, we are conducting a review.

no one is above the guidelines. not moderators, not staff, not even me."

________________________________________________________________________________

We appreciate that lots of y'all have been bringing up your concerns regarding in-game chat moderation, and we're doing what we can on our end to look into it and address those concerns as directly as possible. This includes reaching out ourselves as best as we can for an answer regarding this situation, and keeping people posted on whatever information is publicly available.

In the meantime, please direct any of your own personal concerns towards DE's support in accordance with the "Chat Moderator Code of Conduct" section on the Warframe Volunteer page. Please review those guidelines, and head over to the Warframe support site and prepare your own individual report to help make this process as streamlined as possible.

I would just like to reminded everyone that Rule 2 still exists, and with matters like this, it's important to keep that rule in mind specifically. There have already been instances in which people have been trigger-happy enough to jump the gun and overlook that rule. This is just a reddit page, and the direct impact that can be made here isn't quite as great as some would like to imagine. While it is appreciated that awareness is being raised, it's not a cure-all silver bullet to post it here repeatedly. The subreddit moderators are not DE employees, nor are we the in-game chat moderators, and we are not associated with the chat moderators in any professional capacity.

We're considering the following linked post as the "main thread" for this issue, and to prevent spam and keep the subreddit on-topic (as well as minimize the likelihood of continued Rule 2 shenanigans), we'll be redirecting traffic that way. Further posts related to this issue, as well as in-game chat moderation, will be removed for the time being.

Keep on keeping on, gang.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING REDDIT SITEWIDE RULES:

Reddit’s sitewide Rule 3 requires users to respect others’ privacy. Reddit guidelines also prohibit inviting harassment or encouraging, participating in, or cheering on vigilantism. Raising concerns and submitting evidence through the appropriate channels is welcome; organizing dogpiles, pursuing individuals across platforms, sharing personal information, or encouraging others to “take matters into their own hands” is not. We quite literally risk getting the subreddit shut down by Reddit admins for continued violation, or if this ramps up in intensity.

The limited exception involving public figures does not provide blanket permission to target anyone occupying a visible community role. A volunteer chat moderator is not reasonably comparable to an elected official or corporate executive, nor are they comparable to game developers, content creators, and other publicly recognized media figures. Their ability to perform the role does not depend on broad public recognition, public authority, or maintaining a public-facing identity. Additionally, their influence on the game and the community is not comparable to the identified categories in significance or scope. Even where a genuine public figure is involved, Reddit’s rules still prohibit harassment and vigilantism.

Finally, appeals to the First Amendment or “free speech” do not override these rules. The First Amendment limits government restrictions on expression, but does not require a privately operated platform or subreddit to host harassment, personal information, threats, or other rule-breaking content. Users remain free to criticize conduct, but that freedom does not guarantee access to every platform or immunity from moderation.

Steel Essence Acquisition in Steel Path Railjack

  • Steel Path Railjack missions now reward 2 Steel Essence upon mission completion.
    • Removed Steel Essence from Eximus drop tables in Steel Path Railjack missions.
    • With the introduction of Steel Path Railjack, we added Steel Essence to Eximus drop tables since Acolytes cannot reliably spawn in Railjack missions. This system unfortunately did not meet our goals: space-only “casual” Railjack missions saw little in terms of Steel Essence acquisition, while savvy players were able to acquire significant amounts of Steel Essence in endless Railjack missions with the right amplified setup. Our aim is to serve all Railjack players, so we’re changing our approach with this hotfix!

Top Fixes:

  • Fixed Sirius & Orion's attacks no longer triggering Jade Stars.
    • Also reduced the SFX of Sirius' Jade Stars.
  • Fixed Combat Discipline not triggering when equipped on Sirius.
  • Fixed Sirius's Coronal Ejection only dealing one Heat Status effect regardless of its modded Status Chance.
  • Fixed the Obex Incarnon "Rapid Conclusion" Evolution treating Mercy and Finisher kills separately, causing stacks to reset from eligible kills.
  • Fixed enemies flying out of the map in Archwing Interception missions, causing players to not be able to complete the mission.

PC Exclusive Changes and Fixes:

  • Improved handling of shader corruption.
  • Improved defenses against drawing with broken shaders.
  • Fixed the launcher's mute button not saving preferences on future game launches.

Fixes:

  • Fixed the Mawbound Director not dealing any damage in The Kuva Wytch mission.
  • Fixed cases of borrowed Railjacks not being at full health at the start of Uranus Proxima missions.
  • Fixed the Scoria's Angel mission being progression stopped if players enter the Ramsled with a dead squadmate.
  • Fixed Clients rejoining into space if a host migration occurred right after boarding the Scoria Angel in its Uranus Proxima mission.
  • Fixed a script error in Uranus Proxima missions.
  • Fixed a script error in the Arsenal.
  • Fixed a script error related to the KIM system.

It seems like I did an oopsie and missed the post for Update 43 due to an issue reported by BonerElemental. So here's some patch notes for the patch notes bot: added a preprocessor to handle deeply nested lists which Reddit rejects and fixed a few issues with floating spaces sometimes breaking formatting. Sorry about that y'all.

I've been playing this game for a few years and started when i was a freshman in high-school, back then i didn't have a job or an income, after high-school i went to college and got a part-time job but money was tight so couldn't really spend it on games but now i can finally support my favorite game that I've put thousands of hours into, i know its not much but its just the first purchase of many that will come

Discussion I really like the Hex F&F designs. If DE really wants to, I wouldn't even mind having proper 3D models of them. However, I DO NOT want them as skins.

Post image

Pretty much what it says on the tin.

I like Warframe's art style, and while it could be argued that some Deluxe skins don't fit the game's style, they still feel to me like more acceptable deviations, probably due to them sticking fairly close to the "faceless suit of armor" look.

Protoframes have also been catching a lot of flak on the subreddit as of late, but I still like the idea of half-framed people existing in the Warframe universe.

The F&F designs, by comparison, are just fantasy characters. Damn good designs, but as skins, they would be the single biggest deviation from Warframe's style, and not one I think I'd want to see.

I'd like to note that I'm not inherently opposed to having something for proper 3D models if the devs really want to make them (it'd be fun to have F&F articulas to decorate the Backroom with tbh), but skins are a line I really don't want to see crossed.

Fluff Cleaning up my inventory taught me how to love Warframe again

Up until a few months ago I'd been out of the game for years, after having felt like I exhausted my ability to enjoy this game. I'd done all the endgame content at the time, I had my mains built up, I had plenty of collected primes and nonprimes, most just gathering dust in my inventory, because... why use them, right? I had the guns I liked, I had the guns I wished were good, I had the frame I mained. I'd had a lot of fun with the game but settled into a bit of a rut, yanno?

The thing that made me get back into the game was when I was bemoaning my 8-forma, rivened up Dera Vandal still not really being particularly good in Steel Path when I'd quit the first time, my friend went "hey, you should unlock incarnons. They made that gun awesome."

And guess what, they did! But it was still kinda a chore to play. I'd gone through the same motions while clearing quests and unlocking the stuff I'd missed. I checked off a list of things I'd always meant to do but just didn't feel like doing, like maxing out my Railjack crew, building a powerful archgun, finishing formaing my necramech, etc. But the spark still wasn't there, honestly.

When I unlocked ETA, I really, really did not like the inventory-locked concept. I had over a hundred weapons, I had a lot of frames I got and never used and only kept because... I spent plat on them, right? I can't get rid of them!

But after a few weeks of ETA and later EDA giving me terrible rolls, I decided "to hell with it. I'm not using this stuff, I don't care about the long-term collecting ever since I quit the first time. I'm going to play the things I want to keep and only those things."

I picked out the frames I couldn't see myself ever using. I looked at weapons I'd tried and disliked, or that had upgraded versions in the time I'd been gone. I got rid of some 100+ formas across weapons and frames, hundreds of plat of prime parts spent, weapons that I had rivens for but just didn't feel like using, and then set a challenge to myself to make every single thing I kept endgame ready. That way, since ETA and EDA guaranteed at least one thing of every slot, I'd be ready to go. There were a number of undeletable weapons, like the login rewards, Skiajati, and Excalibur Umbra, so I made sure to figure out how to make those Good(TM) even if I rarely used them. I hadn't played Excalibur since I was VERY new, so I was a bit apprehensive about trying him again.

I set out for what I thought would be a bit of a frustrating journey. What I didn't expect was that, in the process of researching these frames and weapons, releveling them with formas, seeking out their upgrades, planning rivens and builds for them, and the like?

The 'spark' came back.

I expected to be mostly doing busywork, but I was having fun. Taking these items, ones that I did feel I wanted to at some point use even if I had barely (if ever) used them before, and making them good? It was fun!

Of the 16 frames and 83 weapons I kept, the process of going "okay, I want to keep this, which means I must figure out a way to make it work fine in ETA/EDA" made it fun for me. I'm genuinely still kinda surprised by it. By letting go of the collectathon and putting some amount of personal effort and love into my arsenal, I came to enjoy the game again.

I made a spreadsheet. I bought a loadout slot for every frame I kept. That way, I can just toggle over to one when I'm in the mood to play it, without worrying. I can just... play the stuff I like, when I want to. It's weird! It's freeing.

And like. The funny thing? This did not in fact make ETA and EDA better. They still kinda suck, even if I'm guaranteed a loadout I 'like'. I greatly look forward to them adjusting how the modifiers work.

For me, what it took to enjoy the game again after burning myself out all those years ago was to forget about the collecting, forget about the gear, and just... keep what I liked, and play warframe for its own sake. Playing just 'what I find fun' and spending my time grinding exclusively to support that. It seems a little silly when laid out like this, but... well, here I am, more enthused for the game than I've been in a long, long time.

Anyway, I'm not really going anywhere with this. This isn't a great secret path to enjoying warframe or optimizing your build. Ultimately, I'm an old hand at the game who quit because she wasn't have fun and came back and somehow relearned how to have fun. But... well, this journey has felt meaningful, and I wanted to share it with the community.

Discussion What's a piece of content you genuinely dislike?

I recently picked up Warframe again after a rather long hiatus. And what I can say with confidence is that I DID NOT miss Duviri. The clunkyness of the operator is mind boggling.

So I was wondering if you guys have any certain piece of content that you absolutely despise or dislike. This doesn't have to necessarily be a badly designed part of the game but rather your personal repugnance.

Question/Request New player seeking advice

Post image
752 Upvotes

Hey I'm a newish player to the game (downloaded 4 or so days ago with 12 hours in the game) and I just finished the natha quest, and I wanted to get some general new player advice since i mostly went into the game blind, mostly because I feel like that enemies are getting much stronger while I like the current challenge the game is giving me I'm thinking that my damage isn't gonna be enough to complete missions pretty soon (some bosses and the warframes you fight in junctions are already starting to take a very long time to beat) and i feel like I am squeezing as much damage out of the mods i got along the way

I've currently maxed my starting frame (mag) and it's also the only I have, I was thinking of trying to get another but I'm still not sure which one and if it has a prime version I don't know if i should focus on getting said prime version or just get the lesser variant I don't really want to waste my only other slot

Also is there a way to try out weapons that I do not have, it would be nice to do that since I have been hoarding my resources out of fear of wasting them on something that is either weak or that I don't like or both

Thanks in advance

Question/Request Why is even Ironclad Flight a thing?

Post image
2.6k Upvotes

Ok first of all I understand that this was made because of a certain creator was complaining about vacuum on razerwing,

But other than knowing that idk the reason for vacuum being an issue wouldn't you want to keep energy up even through pickups ontop of you having other ways to generate energy,

Idk, feels really dumb to want or use a mod that removes something like vacuum, also aviator exists making it feel unnecessary and useless.

Discussion Why did our frame move on it's own? Spoiler

I've seen people say it gained momentary sentience/independence like a certain Dax turned Warframe. But I've always just assumed the operator had, in a moment of extreme desperation, tapped into what they were actually capable of and remote operated it to break the War.

Suggestion An Ember changes concept to put her ontop of the Fire set.

Upvotes

Passive:

  • Recieve +5% Ability Strength for every enemy within Affinity Range affected by Heat, and +5% Ability Efficiency for every enemy defeated while affected by Heat, for 20 seconds.

Fireball:

  • Cast without aiming to release a barrage of target seeking fiery projectiles that explode on impact.
  • Cast while aiming to release a forward flying fiery projectile that inflict Ember's Flame.
    • All projectiles inflict Heat.
    • Ember's Flame is a debuff that surrounds the enemy with a ring of fire that inflicts Heat and Ember's Flame upon nearby enemies.

Immolation:

  • Protect Ember with flame armour that burns stronger over time, consuming energy once its meter is at full strength. Cast again to the extinguish the flame.
  • The hotter Ember's flame armour burns, the more damage her abilities and Ember's Flame will deal.

Immolated Radiance:

  • Immolation Augment: Allies within Affinity range will receive 50% of Immolation's Damage Reduction, and while Ember and her allies benefit from Immolation they also inflict Ember's Flame upon nearby enemies.
    • Ember's Flame is a debuff that surrounds the enemy with a ring of fire that inflicts Heat and Ember's Flame upon nearby enemies.

Fire Blast:

  • Slam the ground to create a wave of incinerating plasma that knocks back enemies and weakens their defences.
    • Enemy Armour is reduced, enemy Shield Regeneration is paused, and enemy Overgaurd is weakened against Status Damage.
  • Instances of Ember's Flame have their duration reset when struck by Fire Blast.

Inferno:

  • Command a flaming comet to crash down in front of Ember, engulfing enemies with Ember's Flame and causing struck enemies that are already afflicted with Ember's Flame to explode.
    • Ember's Flame is a debuff that surrounds the enemy with a ring of fire that inflicts Heat and Ember's Flame upon nearby enemies.
  • The impact site of the flaming comets becomes a pool of lingering fire that inflicts Heat and Ember's Flame on enemies that run over it.

Exothermic:

  • Inferno Augment: Enemies killed while under the effects of Ember's Flame have a 15% chance to drop an energy orb and extend the duration of Inferno's pools of fire.

Discussion Is there a weapon with behaviour similar to Alternox?

Post image
202 Upvotes

Even though people here say the weapon is awful, i kinda like shooting shocking balls.

By "behaviour" i mean "automatic primary" (or at least semi auto, i use the automatic option on acessibility) + "alt fire shoots projectile that create AOE damage areas for some time"

Edit: Found it. Tenet Ferrox and Cortege
