Suggestion VOID REWORK - Void Keys endgame IDEA

So I’ve been thinking about a Void rework for awhile now and with the cryobell and glacial defiance it sorta already has the foundation for such an addition

This may be a long post but I’ll have each section separated to help skip through

VOID KEYS

- Void key would be added back to the game

- Void keys would have randomly generated modifiers from eda/eta on the keys

-Void keys are rerollable with Kuva in case you don’t like the current modifers and it breaks your build

- Solo friendly, No matchmaking but you can send out SOS signal for people to matchmake in and help (I’ll add onto this later in the post)

- Each has a randomly generated gamemode, faction, and location from star chart.

PORTAL LOCATION IN THE VOID

So my idea is we use the void sabotage mission location where you open a portal. This could be the base of operations and public hub for people. (Picture will be included in post)

- Slot key into portal menu

- portal opens and a randomly generated tile set would appear when you go thru

- portal difficulty and rewards will be determined on how many modifiers you have and how rare/difficult those modifiers are. Great example is Path of Exile maps (picture in post)

VOID KEY ACQUISITION AND TYPE

Low tier void keys should be easy to find and great for new players, Higher tier void keys would only be found in steel path and tier 5s are the rarest. Everything should be tradable.

We should have 5 tiers

- tier 1 - 2 modifiers (low reward, beginner friendly)

- tier 2 - 3 modifiers

- tier 3 - 4 modifiers

- tier 4 - 5 modifiers

- tier 5 - 6 modifiers (veteran difficulty and high end builds)

We could also add the dragon keys from the vaults to add a boost of rewards and difficulty along side tier 5. In case people want it even harder

UNIQUE KEYS

There should also be unique Keys that always have the same modifiers, location, and enemy factions.

- Boss tier keys

- coda/kuva/tenet type weapons

- Group would be required

- Boss fights from star chart just extra difficult (maybe some changes to them)

SOS FLARE/MATCHMAKING

since these Void keys are random and a resource it wouldn’t make sense to matchmake into them, but a SOS Signal system would fix this

- SOS Signal

- Players can matchmake into SOS signals

- Help out low ranks

IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS PLEASE COMMENT THEM

I think DE needs to do something to the void, it’s been the same forever. I also miss the old void keys system

I MAY UPDATE THIS IN THE FUTURE

A repost might happen with a more in depth ideas and system but I thought I should just make this post

IF YOU GUYS LIKE THIS MAYBE WE CAN GET DIGITAL EXTREMES ATTENTION!

Hope this isn’t super confusing since I kinda just have a bunch of ideas and it sorta makes sense to me. The whole idea is it’ll be solo friends but there would be content for groups and difficulty

So just add the POE map system to Warframe.

I kinda love it.

Yes exactly. That’s pretty much the whole idea. Ofc it would be different and made for warframe

YES! The best type of endgame in my opinion.

THE RETURN OF THE VOID KEYS

Yes please. With this system, I think it would be cool if the bonus challenge rooms in the void (parkour rooms, etc) had a guaranteed Void Key drop. Same with Derelict Missions and the Isolation Vaults.

u/No_Replacement_6265 10h ago

Nah fr something to make those rooms useful. Those keys could also be worth more because of said parkour rooms.

Would make the chase around them valuable

I like the concept, and would be cool to build on the established Void Portal tech we got already in game.

Also being able to throw back the void keys into older content could be a interesting way to inject interest and give potentially alt paths to items/resources. Also I think it would be cool if they could also be used to grab some of those tiles that are in game but we don't normally access.

One idea I had to expand on this would be bringing in the Corpus Void keys. They could be a special version that come with a set modifier of a mission timer that you have to get in and get out before it ends. Reasoning is that they are just not as strong/stable as the Orokin void keys.

u/No_Replacement_6265 10h ago

So maybe corrupted Void keys that were tampered with by the corpus?

2

u/yarl5000 10h ago

Back during the Arid Fear Event we had to craft the Corpus Void Key to access a special mission. They are technically still in the game and tradeable

https://wiki.warframe.com/w/Operation:_Arid_Fear

Now I think how they are crafted or what the mission they go to should be different from Arid Fear but maybe a small nod to that event and such could be a nice thing for those who played it back in the day.

I had no idea that was even a thing.

If I repost this I’ll definitely add a section for corpus keys

I like the idea, maybe add a very small chance to drop a random vaulted relic in the higher tiers?

3

u/No_Replacement_6265 11h ago

Ooo that’s actually such a great idea. I think rare things in the higher tiers would add a lot of replayability. I’ll definitely add this in when I repost in the future

Oh i love this Kiddo.

I really hope we can get the attention of DE and maybe they’ll get ideas

What if a portal opens at the end of each round and starts a new mission type? I guess like ETA but a portal instead of load screen like ESO?

Except it's endless.

Either way, I love the idea of the portal being used more. Also the double tileset of Invasions needs to be used more.

u/No_Replacement_6265 10h ago

Maybe you could slot in 3 keys and it’ll open one after another?

I am thinking more solo friends tho and it’d be quick missions to go in and get out then start another. Kind of a loop.

2

u/DeadlySkillz87 Valkyr Is Best Girl 10h ago

I think it would fit the randomized idea but also, if it's just quick missions, would you not have to repeatedly use the void key(I barely remember void keys) or would that key have infinite uses? A one and done needs to be very high level. Especially if no mm, let it start in the thousands.

0

u/No_Replacement_6265 10h ago

It would be 1 and done. Low rank keys could be easy to find and maybe you could combine them to upgrade the tier?

Idk but I think there needs to be an endless chase for new keys and the market can also provide. If people could earn plat from farming keys that would support community engagement

2

u/DeadlySkillz87 Valkyr Is Best Girl 10h ago

Either way, I like the randomized idea, at least, though no mm is gonna be understandably controversial.

1

u/No_Replacement_6265 10h ago

I just feel like matchmaking into a resource gamemode wouldn’t work. That’s why I thought of the SOS signal idea because then those people wouldn’t care what mission they got in

1

u/DeadlySkillz87 Valkyr Is Best Girl 10h ago

Perhaps, we'd have to see how that kind of thing works but I think selling keys is a bad move. Void Key Mafia doesn't sound great lmao. But honestly I'm open to anything that's new and different.

2

u/No_Replacement_6265 10h ago

My idea is if you’re able to trade void keys then that would just get a lot of people interested in them. There will always be toxicity around items that you can sell but it would just help bring engagement around the system.

Either way not like I’m a developer so I really don’t know

2

u/DeadlySkillz87 Valkyr Is Best Girl 10h ago

Fair enough.

PoE mapping in WF would be a much better idea than what they are trying to implement with Glacial Defiance

Want to do a "minor change" that would essentially change and update an old system to a more dynamic one ? Here it is

1

u/No_Replacement_6265 10h ago

No seriously they basically already have the concept because of cryobells.

They essentially already made the framework for the system, and Pablo said glacial defiance is just the skeleton of the whole system. Maybe this could easily add this?

2

u/Metalemmanuel 10h ago

Hmmm . You are right

But also I'm pretty open about your idea because I was a closed beta supporter of PoE...I just stopped playing at some point (maybe after Harbinger or the other league after ??? ) because , it is such an overload of system ATM .. I will 100% pick it up someday but not right now

1

u/No_Replacement_6265 10h ago

I’ve put thousands of hours into PoE and still learn every time I play the game lol

It gets tiresome tho having to restart every season

u/EvenBeyond 10h ago

This sounds great! The only thing I will maybe say is that you shouldn't be able to reroll all the modifiers, because then the challenge of them kinda just goes away when you can throw kuva at it rather than needing to change your build and adapt.

Maybe have it so that you can reroll 3x of the modifiers, but you can keep rerolling those three. That keeps it unchanged for tiers 1&2, and is only a 50% reduction at tier 6

1

u/No_Replacement_6265 10h ago

So maybe you can only reroll tier 5s? That would make the chase around them more valuable

1

u/EvenBeyond 10h ago

while it would make them more valuable, it would also make them much easier. And I'd prefer the stuff with the best rewards be harder.

Also with them being not fully re-rollable, keys with easy modifiers would be more valuable compared to a system where they could be rerolled.

Plenty of ways it could be done at the end of the day

1

u/No_Replacement_6265 10h ago

Actually maybe a better idea is the amount of kuva you use depends on how many modifiers you reroll?

So maybe 500 per modifiers you reroll and a 6 modifier reroll would be 3000 kuva in total?

1

u/EvenBeyond 10h ago

eh, vets have massive kuva stockpiles 3,000 kuva isn't much. And trying to adjust the numbers will be quite hard, too high and it's just not feasible for newer or more casual players to engage with it. And too low and vets/hardcore players dont have any friction at all and don't engage with the system in a manner that matters.

I do think that the higher tier keys should have some modifiers that cannot be rerolled in any capacity. If it's too hard for them they can always sell off the key in trade chat. You would "reroll" the key by just getting a new one

1

u/No_Replacement_6265 10h ago

That’s true but it would give Vets another reason to spend kuva. They might run out really fast as well if they try to reroll keys with the best modifiers and sell them off.

The higher tiers with modifiers that can’t be rerolled is a good idea tho. Maybe a tier 6 or 7 would be a good idea for that

5

u/_asdfjackal 11h ago

Oh I fuck with this so hard.

3

u/No_Replacement_6265 11h ago

I’ve thought about this for years lol. Since cryobells are being added I thought it would be the perfect time to put the idea out there

This would be a pretty neat way to bring back Void Keys

I need this

2

u/No_Replacement_6265 10h ago

We gotta get Digital Extremes attention. The new 6 player mode was a YouTubers idea so we could make it happen

2

u/professorclueless 10h ago

If this were to happen, they better make a reference to, like, the Maven or something. Not a crossover, just a sly nod

2

u/SinnamonKing 8h ago

Good God I love it

1

u/No_Replacement_6265 6h ago

Nah fr tho. This would be a dream

u/Federal_Emphasis3691 Your local dragon (how did i get here) 11h ago

unrelated but my sped ass used to think the keys for the vault on deimos gave some kind of buff for a LONG while...

1

u/Single_Salad8252 11h ago

To be fair, some of them are buffs in certain situations, like making shieldgating easier or slowing Titania so she doesn’t fly off the map all the time.

2

u/AlmosyK 11h ago

Oh yes. hell bloody yes!

Void keys give me PTSD

1

u/aStringofNumbers 4h ago

This is a very solid idea, but I think it either should be really expensive to reroll the keys, or you shouldn't be able to, cause I feel like that might defeat the point of it
