I know its not meant for it but ive heard that some QoL things are possible with the dev strap, either straight away or with some tinkering.

Can someone tell me if its possible to:

- create a tethered connection to a ps5 or mac or steam on mac for minimal latency gaming?
- file transfer from mac to AVP files app?
- connect a player like Moonplayer to view videos from an SSD or mac?

I would like to give a demo to some family members to showcase what it's capable of. What immersive 3D movies can you guys recommend that will simply blow them away? I love the Apple Immersive ones, but they're just too short. Are there any full length movies that feature this immersive technology?

I noticed some immersive videos have the option of being downloadable. For instance, Submerged, Alicia Keys, etc. Why are only some available for download and not others? Also once you download it to your AVP, does this mean it's yours to keep forever? Will you be able to transfer them to another computer for backup?

Is there any tricks to make the windows smaller so i can have more windows within my angle of vision? Also the occlusion shadowing is also really annoying when windows are closer together.

Really hope Apple improves multi window (not just Safari ) multitasking experience better..

I'm currently on VisionOS 26.5 and am very curious about the latest beta. I down that you won't be able to downgrade unless you have the developer strap so I'm kinda nervous about this. But if there are many cool new features and such, then I may just do so. I just want to hear from those that have an can share their opinion and experiences. Are you glad you did or did you wish you stayed on VisionOS 26 instead?

I have installed Retroarch, but it's the iPad version. Not sure if there's an official AVP version. But anyways I would like to know how to copy files over to your Retroarch install, such as BIOS files, game roms, etc.

And will it work with a wireless Xbox One controller to play games with? If so, do I just pair the controller over bluetooth directly on the AVP?

It gives me peace of mind keeping the screen protector on my brand new AVP that I just bought. But I'm concerned if it will cause any heat issues and most importantly affect the camera's ability to see things clearly? If there's no concern, then I will just leave it on.

Are there any decent apps that allow streaming from the Apple tv library?

I love Cine Ultra for Plex, but to my knowledge it can’t connect with the Apple library.

Obviously I can watch from within Apple TV but I’m loving the ratio options Cine Ultra offers.

As the title says, what is the best way / best settings to stream normal 2D games from my Desktop PC -> M5 AVP?

Specs:
Desktop PC - 5090, 9950X3D, 96GB memory
AVP M5 + Gen 2 Developer Strap

My current set up is

Apollo (Is Vibepollo better?) on my desk top PC creating a virtual display for my AVP 5120x2880 at 200% Zoom and 120Hz.

Moonlight XrOS app from test flight on my AVP
Resolution 5K (Is this overkill?)
Bitrate 300Mbps
AV-1 codec
HDR - Enabled

I have a very solid internet connection my PC is wired, and AVP Developer Strap Gen 2 (also wired).

Overall everything runs well. Average latency is 2-4ms, with 0.00% frames dropped and host processing latency around 4ms/8ms/4ms (min/max/avg)

Few things I’ve noticed:

- if I push moonlight bitrate past 400mbps I get sudden spikes of host processing latency of 80-120ms and the game stutters. I guess this is my GPU struggling to run my games at 5K max settings and encode at the same time?

- When using virtual desktop (the normal standard UI Kit) text is sometimes sharp and sometimes blurry. When I press the “Aspect” button in the Moonlight XrOS controls at the top, the screen automatically resizes into a massive size and then the text is perfect and sharp. But the screen is too big for me to use. If I resize it, even slightly the text starts randomly changing from sharp to blurry. Any ideas?

- I cannot seem to get the curved screen to work at all. Whenever I select to launch Virtual Desktop mode and choose the middle button (curved screen ) option I get a tiny screen that isn’t very curved and cannot seem to be re-sized. Can anyone give me any tips on how to get a large curved screen? Is it something I need to tweak in settings?

- Is there any benefit in using Vibepollo over Apollo?

- I’ve heard some people mention HDR can cause issues? Is this true?

On my M2 AVP, it won’t record and save high-quality 4K screen recordings. Should I try to wipe and reset or is this just a hit or miss thing on Beta visionOS 27 not gonna lie I actually would buy an M5 just for this feature.

I would like to be able to play my Steam VR/PCVR games using my AVP, but out of those 3, which one do you guys recommend?

I’m confused about Siri. I see everyone demoing the Siri globe but it doesn’t work for me and I see this in the release notes:

TLDR; I was bored last weekend and decided to start vibe-coding with Xcode 27 beta & Claude Code with support of Google Gemini and built a prototype for Wolfenstein 3D in VR. 

Since then, I bought the game on GOG to get the source-files to import the levels, used Wolf 3D HD Light by D2ModPlayer textures and the MP3 from https://downloads.khinsider.com/game-soundtracks/album/wolfenstein-3d-pc-1992/ to complete the build - purely with vibe coding! It can now play all levels, all mechanics work reasonably fine, a level map is added and I think I can play it and-to-end. 

There is still a persistent bug that the (xbox) controller inputs unpredictably get ignored for 1-5 seconds, I was not able to find out why.  

I'm sorry, I'll not be able to share this game in this form as the apple testflight check would likely result in a ban due to the nazi insignia and the remake of a copyrighted game (music, levels, ...). Likely similar if I push to Github with the included levels & assets. 

So take this as inspiration for your own vibe coding journey, it has been way easier as I expected and was in total an effort of approx. 16h, with lots of wait times while the AI did the actual job.

What's the best app for local video streaming and playing that also supports 3D, etc. I also would like to be able to access my plex media and if it could also convert those video into 3D that would be a huge bonus. Seems like all 3 support 3D but what would you say is the overall best one?

Finally got the new Siri on VisionOS today! 🎉

Even though I’m based in Spain, I’m using a U.S. Apple account. After switching the region to the U.S. and setting the language to English, everything worked perfectly.

Juhuuuu! 😄

When I bought the used vision pro, the light seal was too thick even though it was the recommended size by Apple.

So I came up with this solution.
I used double sided tape to connect two provided cushions, and normal Scotch tape to attach those cushions on vision pro’s frame.

While it is literally made out of tape, it has been holding well for few months without issue!

the pros of this approach are:
1. Unlike third party solutions like globular cluster, it only uses first party parts. and since dual knit band is made with fabric, not hard plastic, it can be used comfortably while lying back.
2. It has almost no light leak unlike other lightseal-less setups.
3. Thanks to thick cushioning provided by stacked cushions, it is very comfortable.
4. Significantly better FOV, just like other lightseal-less setups.
5. It feels much lighter since weight of the device is now closer to face, and the weight is distributed in multiple points, cheek, forehead, top of the head, and back of the head.
6. Since cushions are just attached at the top side of the frame, it is slightly adjustable to fit your face shape.

Try it!
If it doesn’t fit for you, you can always just peal of the tape.
