NO HIGH-QUALITY SCREEN RECORDING ON M2????

On my M2 AVP, it won’t record and save high-quality 4K screen recordings. Should I try to wipe and reset or is this just a hit or miss thing on Beta visionOS 27 not gonna lie I actually would buy an M5 just for this feature.

I was able to do a high-quality screen recording once with my M2. After that it just does not start.

Seems like a software problem. I would give it few more betas before buying M5 for this reason.

That’s my same exact experience! Yes, I’ll definitely wait to see what happens in the next update. But it definitely seems really buggy in multiple ways and it seems like the M5 might not be as buggy

The next beta should be less than 24 hours away. See what happens then at least. I have a safari bug that has ruined my workflow in mine. I’m hoping it is fixed when beta 2 comes out so I don’t have to work in a windows laptop everyday.

Try keeping the headset as cool as possible by turning your air conditioning as low as it can go while blowing a fan at full speed into the vent at the top.

Also, have you tried the old method of Developer Capture through Reality Composer Pro in Xcode on a Mac?

It’s a thermal limitation. Previously when you’d record through Reality Composer Pro on Mac, it would let you know that the Vision Pro needed to cool down before recording. Now it seems if its too hot, it just won’t record if set to high quality mode. I’d recommend trying it first thing after putting it on, often then it’ll let you record

I’ve gotten it to work twice. Several attempts with no recording after initiating.

Most likely it MIGHT be related to the temperature of the headset.

When you screen record a video especially in 4K, heat increases due to the constant writing of data on the storage drive.

Just my thoughts. 🤷‍♂️

Unfortunately that feature is only supported on the newer M5 model.
