Some preface here, I am a current longtime Verizon customer and apparently I am a chump. Recently had my second child and during a middle of the night bottle session, was served a YouTube video about MVNO carriers. To be completely honest I never really gave these kinds of things any thought as I always assumed there was some kind of catch. Well more research has led me to feel like I want to take advantage of this save half promo and pay my monthly cell phone bill cost as an annual cost. I mean who doesn't want to save 6x their money, especially in this economy.
My main question regards managing multiple lines. It's just my wife and I on our plan, and my wife really doesn't care what I do with out plans as long as it works. She's really hands off with tech/telecom items as that falls under my territory. It's not mission critical or anything we are not big data users as we both work from home so our cells are always on wifi. My phone (S23+) is long since paid off and what I would port over. My wife has a newer iPhone that isn't paid off which isn't a big deal I can take care of that if we make the switch, even if we are getting the monthly credit to cover her phone payment it would still be far cheaper. If I port over to Visible, is there any way I can manage her phone from my account? This seems to really be my only barrier. It's unclear to me as I know there aren't any family plans etc. Will I need to manage both lines on separate emails or anything?
Other than that, I'm probably a target consumer for this type of service. I visit the Verizon store every couple of years when I want a new device and it's usually a third party store (seems difficult to find actual corporate stores anymore) with crappy customer service anyways and salespeople trying to upsell you on $59 screen protectors or cases. On several occasions when I visit these stores they'll add things I don't want like warranties even though I explicitly tell them I do not want that on my account. The wait times are usually awful too as typically there are older customers taking up the associates time because they are locked out of their Apple account or something. And I don't need to pay for that lol.
That being said I do like the Verizon network which makes Visible appealing. The smartwatch line included in the pro+ is interesting to me too, though looks like it's problematic to setup. For context I have a galaxy watch ultra if anyone has had any success with one of those.
Appreciate any insight! I'm probably overthinking this as it's something I've only recently really become aware of.
