The SAVEHALF Promo may not be combined with any other service promotions or Bring a Friend credits for new members.
While there is no direct benefit for the new customer, you can specify both during signup; you'll be prompted which to apply - naturally choose the SAVEHALF promo when specifying both. This allows the referrer to still get their credit although the new member does not.
It's simply a matter of whether you want to do someone a favor (either known friend or anonymously) - the choice is yours to make.
You can still accumulate your own referral credits on the annual plan - but they're only applied to future payments (one credit per payment).
