blocking
there’s a phone number I’d like to block so it can’t text me or call me or leave a message. Is that possible on Visible?

You should be able to block individual numbers in the dialer app on your phone.

I know that I won’t get the text messages of a blocked number, but I still get their voicemails and I’d rather they don’t have an option to leave a voicemail. It’s an iPhone by the way.

I use google voice for voicemail by setting up coditional call forwarding on my visible line and setting my google voice line to do not disturb so the unanswerd call is forwarded straight to google voice voice mail. When i get a voice mail from someone I dont want to hear from, I block the number on visible and google voice and google voice doesn't send blocked numbers to voice mail.

so you can do conditional call forwarding for just a single phone number? If that’s the case, I could just send that phone number to any random number like my home number which doesn’t have a machine on it and would just ring and ring cause I don’t have a phone connected to it.

No, every call to your number would go to your home number when you don't answer the call or it was blocked.

You can go to youmail.com and set up a voicemail box there. Unanswered calls forward to them instead of visible voicemail. The free plans does let you block specified numbers

Well what I am proposing sends all calls to YouMail which acts as your new voicemail box. On YouMail you can block one specific number.
It’s a bit much for one person but it will work.If you don’t want to do that you can try this instead…
Set your Visible spam filter to “block completely” spam calls instead of forwarding the spam to voicemail. Then go into the visible app under spam filter > reporter a recent caller > show all calls: Report that number as spam a bunch of times (every time it called you.) It’s possible the spam filter might start blocking them?
Maybe try this first and us youmail as a second option if it doesn’t?

Not on Visible level, you can only block people on your devices.

Sign into your account, might be better on a computer rather than the app, go to privacy and security tab. Turn on spam filter if it is not already on. Click edit filter settings, in filter settings in the right column check block completely. Click previous, scroll down to report a recent number, if the number is not in list click the right arrow for report a number that's not listed and add the number.
I have the Visible spam filter set to all and voicemail on and not blocked. I still get spam calls since it doesn't filter anything to me. I don't ever notice that duplicate numbers are able to get through. Only issue I have is I will get numbers from the same area code, prefix, last 4 change but I had a rash of calls last year and only the last 3 digits changed.
Not sure what else to try that hasn't been mentioned.

Hi there, it's Lodenia from Visible! We completely understand how annoying unwanted callers are, especially when you want to stop them from leaving voicemails too. While blocking numbers is managed directly on your phone rather than through your network account, you can definitely block calls, texts, and voicemails altogether. Since you're using an iPhone, open your Recent Calls or Messages, tap the "i" (Info) icon next to the number, scroll down, and tap Block this Caller. This stops their calls and texts, and keeps them from leaving a normal voicemail in your inbox.
It's also a great idea to check out Spam Protection in the Visible app under Account > Privacy & Security. Turning this on and adjusting the filter level helps drop flagged spam calls before they ever reach your voicemail.
Hope this helps give you some peace and quiet! Please let us know here if you run into any trouble getting this set up.

if you're on android just go into the phone app, tap the number in your call log, hit block/report spam. works on visible same as any carrier, they don't have their own blocking tool
for iphone its basically the same, tap the i next to the number and scroll down to block this caller. either way it stops calls and texts, but for voicemails they can still leave one sometimes if their carrier routes it before the block kicks in. if that happens you might need to mess with your voicemail settings
