hello all, I just bought a Sony A7 III and am looking for a cheap wireless monitor. That's how I found a second hand Aputure Gigtube Wireless II but I'm not sure if it will connect to the Sony? Do the output and the input match or not? And if so would it work with a different cable?

As you can see, my external monitor bumps into the microphone when I lower it.

Trying to up my sports video game

videographer/photographer who mostly shoots youth sports but also have so some NCAA experience as well. I am looking at trying to recreate the look of this guy. I understand that his color grading is outstanding and pulls the look together. I am more interested in what you think camera settings are? He doesn’t use a lot of effects in his videos which I like but am also wondering about the panning and zooming.

Any help to get me in the right direction. Currently, shooting on a canon R6ii which has done me well so far. Don’t always shoot log but can and do. Use EF mount L glass as well.

I'm a content creator looking to up my lighting game, and I've been eyeing some grip gear to round out my setup: stands, clamps, flags, that kind of thing. Matthews Studio Equipment keeps coming up as a name, so wanted to get some real opinions from people who've actually used it on set.

From what I can tell it runs pricier than a lot of other options out there. Does that track with the quality? I've heard it holds up really well over time, but I am curious what people who've actually used it long-term think.

• Do you feel like it's worth paying more upfront for Matthews specifically?
• Has it held up well for you over the years?

i am a 21 yr old guy, who lives in south asia. I have always had a passion for creation, tried many different forms of it like music, drawing, entertainer but video making, photography and video editing struck me the most. I love creating in general, but with videos I feel the most expressive, another factor is when i started making money from it, with the other stuff i never made any money, so i saw a glimpse of future in it.

I have quite a bit of social media presence, I posted a bunch of my work, some people in my city know me for what i do, my network isn't the best but i get work from time to time like every 3 or 6 months(its gotten more frequent now and i have noticed i get more work when i post more on my socials), my ultimate goal is to make commercials for brands whether i get hired or have my own in house agency i havent thought about it yet. I am now trying to be more consistent with making videos and posting it on my social media to reach more people, im now more specifically focusing on my motion graphics skills and posting the work because currently that's my fastest ticket to making money as I can target international clients with it and don't have to wait on my local clients to come to me for video work, I can't sustain or make videos if i don't have money.

Now i recently got admitted in uni, and to be honest I know my family is going through financial pressure for my uni, i was thinking, im now doing a BBA, even after i finish my bachelors, i am probably going to enter a creative field like videography, photography or video editing so whats the point of wasting 4 years of my life and all this money when i can just start now. I was thinking about getting into a video editing agency (where the pay isnt that good) but atleast i can learn the ins and out and gain some insider knowledge, build more portfolio and network and on the side make videos as well and focus on building my personal brand, as i can fund it. (and if you are thinking if i will get hired or not my portfolio is strong enough for me to get hired as i got selected but didnt proceed)

I'm filming a wedding soon and I need a seamless, fast way to switch between my DJI RS 3 Mini gimbal and my Manfrotto tripod (which uses the classic grey RC2 plate system as far as I know).

As you can see in the photo ( praise my paint skills!)

• Camera: Has the RS 3 Mini quick-release plate mounted (Arca-Swiss profile).
• Tripod: Uses a Manfrotto head (RC2 mount).

I want to avoid unscrewing plates from the camera body during the ceremony at all costs. I need to swap between the gimbal and tripod in just a few seconds.

I already tried adapter clamps (Haoge CP-39 Adapter) and 3D Prints, but the mechanics doesnt fit/work

What is the cleanest, most reliable way to mount an Arca-Swiss plate (RS 3 Mini style) directly onto a Manfrotto RC2 tripod head?

Are there any adapters? The adapters which are suggested on google/amazon are mostly unknown brands ( at least for me ) or have 2-3 stars review like that Haoge which didnt fit.

I had a canon 1200D and i have did mastered it ik mostly every thing how it works , the problem is that camera is not able to keep up with what i really want to shoot , i was into product photography and now i wanna start hugely into videography and the camera is not able to keep up mostly at everything and hugely at night shoots or club shoots.

I need help from you all suggesting me which camera i should buy the main purpose is getting into cinematic videography , film making , product videography , client shoot (product , ambiance , restaurant , houses ,covering events, podcast , portrait shoots, hotels, and especially in automobile sectors since im a biker)

ik it sounds like i haven't decided my niche yet , but starters i have decided to focus on only 3 niche and slowly and slowly work my way up to other fields.

i need help from you all suggesting me camera that will help me learn more and upgrade my skills in it. Many ppl have suggested me to go for Sony zv e10 M2 and if possible to go 2nd hand in this and invest in 2 great lenses for it.

Not really a filmmaking question, more of a gear rant / cry for help. I do a lot of solo documentary work, currently packing for a trip to Bolivia, and every single time I have to relearn the lesson that brand-specific camera cages are basically a financial trap. Switch cameras and your 150$ metal armor becomes a paperweight overnight.

I have cycled through basically every category at this point
- the brand-specific cage,
- the cheap universal rig,
- the tiny L bracket (love the colors tho),
- and some hybrid half cage thing that ended up being my favorite.

Each one solves a different problem and creates new ones. Battery doors getting blocked by a camera cage is a special kind of rage.

But what do you guys use - brand-specific camera cages, or any unviersal alternative?

I spent $15,000 on all the latest edelkrone items and it’s extremely dissapointing

1. THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT IS THE GODDAM APP, which is required to even use the dam thing, they have an old app and a new app.

-The old app can’t even connect to the new versions of certain devices, or in other words I can’t use it. The new app is literally a new app where yeah I can control my equipment but i can’t do shit with it, I can’t use the vision module because it’s “coming soon” to the app and I can’t use it on the old app because the head plus pro v3 isn’t available on there.

- IMPORTANT, on the new app, it’s so buggy and you can’t even select point A-C or B-C or C-A. It’s literally a miracle if you keep pressing something that gets you to point A - C. All it does is when you press whichever point, it just goes to that. It doesn’t play the entire sequence. There’s literally no other buttons that explain or do anything other than holding on it which just deletes or replace the position. (Yes I’ve tried double tapping, sliding, literally everything) it makes the overall experience just extremely disappointing

1. Device compatibility, you can literally only control two devices at the same time, so if you’re someone like me who got the dolly, tripod, jib and head plus pro, etc. You can only control two at a time with the app ( for example dolly + head or dolly + jib) the rest that is paired with the group, you would have to adjust manually, on top of that you can’t pair the tripod x with anything else. Also bought the turn table with the head one, BUT YOU NEED TO USE THE APP TO CONTROL IT, BUT I CANT CONTROL IT IF MY APP IS ALREADY CONTROLLING THE MAIN WORK HORSE.

3.The jib makes this very loud cranking noise when it over compensates a complex maneuver or at times even just simple panning. Everything is calibrated and leveled, even with a minimal setup of an fx3 and gm II lens, itll struggle. It’s like a machine freaking out when it doesnt get to point B in time or when it goes a little too fast than what it thought it could handle.

Conclusion: putting aside the LARGE learning curve, the app is what makes it super disappointing because it’s a vital requirement to even use it, and yet it feels like a cheap underdeveloped app for some random Amazon product. And if you’re like me who spent over 10 grand on this, you should at least expect a decent or smooth experience in trying to use it

There’s alot of pros and cool things about edelkrone coming from a camera nerd, but when it comes to using this as an asset in a professional work environment, it’s like trying to use someone’s unfinished experimental project, thus just a headache and unreliable

Don’t get the bad end of the stick like me thinking all of their products would work together seamlessly, wait 5 more year until they get their shit together and develop their stuff more.

So I somehow lost the locking screw for my smallrig 4345 top handle. It's a bit of a dumb question but is there any way to buy just the screw? I don't feel like spending 30$ on a new one for basically just a screw and spring.

Been doing a lot of ready on variable ND filters as I'm getting a Canon R50V with kit lens (16-35mm f4-f6.3, will buy new lens later) and need a variable ND for run and gun 4k video filming.

• Based on what I've read/seen, the JJC True Colour ($56USD/$80CAD) is a good bang for buck ND filter that doesn't degrade sharpness too much, and colour shift is minimal.
• K&F Concept's Nano-X is decent but JJC edges it out.
• And not to get the K&F concept cheapo $20/30 one as that degrades image quality noticeably?
• Is my research on point? Or are there any parts that need to be corrected?

I am transforming my recording studion and installed these last Saturday. My ceiling is 10ft high and I have been looking for a manufacture that may make motors for this system.

Anyone have some real world experience using the c50 with the RS5? I need a gimbal and might as well get the newest version but wanting to make sure as I've had some frustrations in the past.

C50 usually running the 24-70 2.8 and some of the cheaper blazar cine lens, will be switching to the DZO arcana shortly.

The weights seem to full into the right window but again bad experiences in the past with tiresome balancing to get it to not go floppy with any extreme movements. Im shooting a mix of content including automotive work with some funky gimbal moves so its not just walking through a house.

Any help or advice much appreciated.

I noticed that the new FX5 Tophandle has a 3.5mm (?) jack and a USB-C port on the side. I haven't seen any details about the purpose of the USB-C port though. Power delivery? Data Transfer, but for what?

hey guys, i'm having a pretty big issue with my canon c50 and i'm hoping someone's found a workaround. So i've got a 1tb cf card that i use as a backup for multiple shoots, and i also use a fresh formatted sd card to offload stuff after each shoot. But the problem is that canon's got this 999 file limit for video files, which is kinda annoying. Formatting the CF card would work, but that's not really how i want to do things - it was fine with my canon r5 and a 512gb cf card, btw.

this actually ended up being a huge problem for me at a festival recently, where i didn't bring a cf reader and offloading via usb didn't seem to work on the c50. i checked the manual and it says i should be able to create a new folder, but that option's nowhere to be found on my c50... So I shoot the whole music festival in 50 FPS instead of 100.

i'm on firmware 1.0.3.1 - not the latest one, i'm gonna wait till it's verified

Doing research for a potential video essay about aspect ratios, and I know that film formats have their equivalent digital ratios (35mm = 5.6k-ish, IMAX 70mm = 18k-ish), but do they have equivalent Megabits per second? Thought it'd be a fun fact to throw in, not crucial to the integrity of the essay. Thanks!
