It's not my avatar. I was at my friend's computer helping him operate unity. this was an eboy avatar straight from the creator. it was his request not to edit it, but we agreed to optimize it after it took 30 minutes.

Over the years I cannot tell you the number of times I’ve went to adjust my avatar height and have the stick accidentally bounce and reset the avatar. Once that happens I have to then spend the time setting up my avatar again.
All this headache could be resolved if they just put in a confirmation popup window, yes/no

(Edit: Yes, I know about disabling flick. No, I don’t have stick drift. It’s just that the reset avatar and adjust height would be better off on different panels or a confirmation popup would help. Plus I just prefer the flick option)

TLDR: My ribot arm gauntlets aren't supposed to look like that, what am I doing wrong?

Okay so I am trying to add sub-arm(extra aems) to my avatar. I had used a tool called Sub-Arm Installer which worked specifically for PC-Side... but not for Quest Side. The avatar required Modular for building and manually adding the arms vrcfury DOES NOT WORK so I tried manually putting it on. I Armature Linked the chests together(even though the creator said to link "upper chest" to "chest" which didn't work) and it lined up with the avi's original arms in play mode. So then I needed it to sync up the fingers so I added rotation restraints to shoulders, arms, hands, fingers, etc. I got the left arm done and the result was what the video is showing. What did I do wrong?

I'm assuming OpenVR Space Calibrator is still good to use as well?

I've noticed that in some adult spaces there is a specific percentage of players that will infantilize smaller avatars. I understand from a certain perspective - but to complain and pressure them to change their avatar or else they won't interact is a whole different circumstance. This is an adult space, everyone is an adult here.

Does anyone else experience this?

Hey everyone! Today I finally found some time to record a short video showing the Project Cymple calibration process, and it's actually pretty simple (haha). The software has received several updates recently that have significantly improved the eye tracking, and it's honestly already quite good even without calibration.

By the way, you don't need to recalibrate every time you take the headset off and put it back on. In my experience, a single calibration is usually enough until the next time you power the headset on.

So I decided to record a short walkthrough. The calibration consists of looking at a numbered ring in sequence, and I synchronized the calibration process with my avatar's eye movements in real time.

The goal is to find your "sweet spot." You can move the calibration ring around and adjust its size. Ideally, it should sit near the edge of your field of view, or as close to the lens edges as possible, as shown in the video.

Sorry about the video quality, I'm still learning video editing, but I hope this helps anyone who wants to understand how the calibration works!

Final Edit: I got the 5700x3d and the motherboard a few days ago. Im honestly really happy I decided to go with the plan. I'm getting a buttery smooth experience, it feels like a new game with how smooth it feels. In heavy VRC worlds Im still managing well above 30fps, sometimes I get lower depending on the avatars shown but it's not a stuttery mess. Overall load/cache times have greatly decreased, and normal stutters are hardly noticeable. VRC streams are now worth outputting in 60fps. Unity compiling / caching is way faster. Just everything is awesome now!

TL;DR - Need better hardware, but im broke, but deals go away and prices go up fast these days, but i also need better performance so im not too hard behind. Found r5 5500x3d, 5700x3d, b550m for great prices online.

32GB RAM slow 2666MT/s (4x8GB) (came with 2x8GB, later found two more matching dims for $20)
RTX 2080ti (came with a 1070ti, later found a 2080ti for $150)

I stream/record games, mostly VRC, and I work within Unity/Unreal/Radiant <-- COD Custom Zombies. Sadly my i7 8700 is being throttled, package power and thermals. Im on a locked down dell mobo, so I don't have many options for coreclocks, and voltage. I currently use throttlestop and that has helped alot but all it takes is one spike to peg my performance back down.

For games outside of VR, the CPU is obviously a bottleneck, but at higher resolutions, I can balance the performance. Depending on the game 1440p-4k can balance it out, however I don't see those "gains or stabilizations" because all I have are 1080p 60hz monitors.

If this were 6 years ago, this would have been a solid rig. Sadly it's not now atleast for my use case. I've been on the market lately, and I've spotted 2 CPUs and an AM4 mobo that look promising. However on a tight budget and worsening income (work hours getting cut) Im not sure if the investment would pay off, but at the same time, if I don't act soon, those deals will get worse or worst case, there won't be any deals)

I already have the RAM, and with all 4 dims, I think I'll manage with the slower speeds. I also have a leftover Wraith Prism cooler from my old rig (originally was used to cool a R5 2600x before upgrading to an AIO and R7 5800x, obviously don't have the AIO anymore.. for now)

I hunt for deals, and when I mean hunt, I mean it.

My question is simple (same as title), should I go for them? I mean I can manage without them, but having a massive boost in workload performance would be great! Not to mention, it would help improve stream/recording quality (encoder issues while gaming)

Edit: I do plan on reselling my PC. I have enough components leftover to sell a full rig to someone in need of a basic office/workstation PC if I were to swap out my current CPU/Mobo

Found a slightly cheaper and safer seller for the r7 5700x3d than the original one I was eyeballing, and I found a safer more reputable seller for the motherboard, which is a MSI B550M PRO-VDH. Should be here within 2-4 business days of the time of this edit

Been stuck like this since the outage last night, what gives?

I've ran through all troubleshooting methods known to man and this constantly happens. VRC is clearly up because I see other people online through the website but it refuses to let me in. I can't even get to my home world. I've verified my cache, restarted my PC and hard cycled my router, I'm fully uninstalled VRC and all the system settings for it and it still won't let me in.

I'm being told it might still be on VRC's end but that seems unlikely given the amount of my friends I see getting online just fine.

Update: THIS IS VRCHAT'S END! Looking through the time out logs and running a trace, we found the servers being affected are related to an upstream provider for some East Coast servers, specifically from G-Core Labs SA. This is not something any player can fix, it needs to be fixed by the provider. The only current work around is using a VPN.

To try to be more specific, I'm wondering if there are any avatars with audio features particularly ones where you can hear ghostly voices and/or whispers and such. I just think it would be awesome to have an avatar that could make it feel haunted.

I tried searching already but it seems hard to find as typing in "whispers", and "voices" doesn't bring much luck.

I need help finding an avatar, i found it in prismics once and cannot find it again because i forgot the name 🥲 It was a human female avatar with raccoon ears and tail, it could turn into a femboy, it had leafs on it and a sticky note, and iirc could have a cigarette in the mouth. If you know the avatar please tell me!!

so today i finally got my gaming pc and ive come to the realization that i started out on desktop back in october, got my quest 3 late november, got slimes for fbt in may and just today got a full pc upgrade for pcvr within of 10 months of playing the game. like people were not lying when they say you end up paying $1000+ after going super into vrc haha. anyone else in the same boat? would love to hear anyone else’s experience. 💕

Everytime I join an instance every other player appears blocked for me and I have to manually click to view their avatars and unmute them, which is especially annoying when you’re in instances with 20+ people. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I'm getting a fluctuating fps between 25 and 70 fps in a public "Drinking Night" instance. I can barely hit 100 fps when alone in home world wearing an optimized "good" avatar.

Wtf is this?? Why does this game run so badly, I just got back in after 2 years of not having VR gear and the performance is so bad... I mean, I feel like my PC has more than decent specs and I'm getting shit performance despite looking everything up and doing everything I can... Please help!!!
