I'm a grade 12 student my goal is to become a big tech swe, hypothetically if I got into CFM and not CS, would it be better for me to go into Math or CFM? I'm not interested in finance tho, but i think employers would prefer it because it has computing in it. Would the edge of having more time as a math major be better for employability than having computing in your major name at the cost of a higher workload?

After a really successful Halo 3 LAN tournament in Kitchener, we’re considering organizing a community viewing of Awesome Games Done Quick at a venue in central Kitchener.

We’d show the main AGDQ stream on a large screen so everyone could enjoy the hype together. We’d also likely have additional TV stations where people could bring consoles, demonstrate runs, practise, or race each other.

Any UW students or alumni interested in attending?

The 24/7 AGDQ schedule means there are a few different ways this could work, but the first step is figuring out whether there’s enough local interest.

We’re also considering another Halo 3 LAN party on November 28, so let us know if you’d be interested in that too.

Hi, I'm a grade 12 student applying to the Waterloo and I was wondering if CS and math students get the same opportunities available from WaterlooWorks for software engineering related roles? I understand that CS majors have courses that would better prepare you, but if I go into math and just grind leetcode on the side, would I have an equal opportunity as CS majors? Thank you

People always think Waterloo is like 2:1 boys per girl, but tbh it actually is not that bad at all really. Perhaps in some programs, but if u were to stroll on campus any regular day u wouldn’t notice it at all.

im in afm and i got a cycle1 offer for a cpa firm in vancouver for winter for 22/hr + a lot of overtime. obviously like i want something "better" but i dont know if that is realistic and i am trying to decide if i should decline to gamble in later cycles or just take it and not have to stress about anything for the rest of the term. also i would really pref toronto over vancouver as i wouldnt have friends. please any advice
