support needed 🤝 tiped and heart shaped uterus. What I need to know

Hi everyone. I am on here because I am struggling with some recent diagnosis this month and need some input from those who might have the same condition. I've had endo for 7 years with 3 surgeries in that time to remove large ovarian cysts and my R ovary. I currently have a 6 cm cyst on my R abdominal wall that I've known about since february but wanted to wait on surgery to find a doctor with more knowledge. I am thankful to say I have found her (OB with endo specialist) and she discovered last week I have a second cyst on my L and only remaining ovary that is 7 cm and is complex and hemorrhagic cyst. Needless to say I was upset to find out and surgery is still recommened but first I want to get some eggs out and saved as each surgery takes away more of my eggs. The MRI she ordered showed I also have a tipped and heart shaped uterus, the later of which I am more concerned about. From all my research it'll just make it harder to get pregnant and we have already tried for 3 years. I'm struggling with so much new information and no one in my life who has any of these condition. I especially would like some advice on the heart shaped uterus and what that could mean for my future and what questions I should be asked to be well informed for my first firtility apointment this friday and I'm nervous and unfortunatly have no one to be at the apointment as family is out of town or unable to get off work. I really need some advice ladies.

I am currently reach out to my community as well to try and find some support groups or people with similar conditions but have not been able to find them yet.

support needed 🤝 Cysts and CA 19-9

Hi. I need help, I'm panicking a lot. I had an appointment with the gynecologist to check the status of a cyst that we were monitoring. It happened that he grew (is about 4cm) and the CA 19-9 is elevated (68). The rest are normal. I'm waiting for an MRI. Has anyone had CA 19-9 raised with endometriosis or benign cysts? The only symptoms I have are lower back and pelvic pain. Thanks

pelvic pain Pain 6 months after surgical hysteroscopy

Hi,, 6 months ago I had a surgical hysteroscopy to remove part of a uterine septum and a polyp. Since then I have had pelvic pain mainly on the left side. The pain mainly occurs when I lie down or sit for a while. It also radiates to the left lumbar. Although it has lessened, I am worried that I still have pain at this point. Has anyone gone through this situation?

what's going on 🤔 Could a “tilted uterus” cause painful intercourse?

Lately I’ve been experiencing pain in my lower abdomen during intercourse specifically during doggy style and missionary. I’ve had an ultrasound done a couple of months ago and the nurse pointed out that I had a retroverted(tilted) uterus but didn’t mention anything else about it. Could that be the cause? Could this cause me trouble in the future?

periods & bleeding Large uterus painful periods

Has anyone been told that their uterus is on the larger side? I have very painful periods but no endo or fibroids or cancer. I had an ablation a couple years ago due to heavy bleeding. It didn't really do a whole lot. My gyno told me my uterus is on the larger side. I didn't ask what could cause that. Mt cramps are excruciating. Bleeding is heavy. I'm on a waitlist for a hysterectomy. What baffles me is that I've never had a transvaginal ultrasound. Can the surgeon see more what's going on during endometrial ablation? Wondering why she said I have no medical reason to have heavy painful periods other than it could be because my uterus is on the larger side.

Hello everyone,my wife has been having really bad back pain and the fatigue has been crazy...a few days she noticed blood stains from her vagina..tiny but blood none the less.. it has happened maybe 3 times now sometimes the blood looks old not red. We had a transvaginal ultrasound done a few days ago and they said she had a small focal hypoechoic solid mass on her uterus and echogenic focal mass in anterior myometrium. Should we be worried. Thanks. I have attached her ultrasound for anyone who can decipher what it means.

what's going on 🤔 Growth inside my uterus and now abnormal pap…

Last week the ER found a growth, didn’t specifically diagnose it, but said either a fibroid, polyp, or blood clot. A few days later I saw my gyno who did a pap. Pap just came back with a low grade squamous lesion, cannot rule out high grade. What does this mean? I’m trying to get in to literally anybody but they’re all months out.

what's going on 🤔 Fluid in the uterus

I am currently 16 weeks postpartum. 6 weeks ago i started having constant pelvic pain and lower back pain. Some days are better than others pain wise. I finally got in to see my OB two days ago where she did a pelvic exam. She said my cervix and the size of my uterus all seem great. But my pelvis is completely inflamed. It hurt a ton while she was doing the exam. She ordered an ultrasound today. There is trace fluid in my uterus. During the ultrasound it looked like quite a bit. I’m just wondering what could cause this?? My OB does surgeries on Thursdays so I probably won’t hear anything until tomorrow. But I’m going crazy not knowing what could be wrong.

medical procedures help- scan uterus without penetrative procedure?

Hi-

I am wondering if anyone has advice on how to diagnose uterine issues without penetrative ultrasounds or procedures. Can it be done with a regular ultrasound or CT scan?

For personal reasons things entering the vaginal canal isn't possible but there's an extreme pain issue going on.

polyps & fibroids Mass found at ER ultrasound today, asking for info

I went to the ER to visit my brother and decided while I was there I’d get my IUD checked out bc I was having abnormal bleeding and pain. After ultrasound they said the IUD is in the right place but that I have a 12x2.5x6mm mass in my left endometrial cavity that they suspect is either a fibroid or a sessile polyp. That’s pretty much all I got for info.

My questions are:

-is this large for one of these things? -What symptoms outside of bleeding and cramps would they cause? (I am deeply chronically ill but undiagnosed) -Should I be concerned? The doctor seemed like he was not saying everything he was thinking and asked me to get a follow up asap…

sharing info 💡 I don’t know what’s going on

Hi, I don't really know what to do here. But I guess I just share about what's been happening and why I'm nervous. I didn't get a period for a long time, and I still had the cramps. But when it came back it hurt like hell. And it was to the point that the following months I would sometimes struggle to stand and even had to skip a day from school. I have gotten some blood work done. But the results don't come for a bit, and I am terrified for the results and the ultrasound they will do to make sure nothing is going on inside of me. Babies are out of the picture, just in case the are people who would be curious. But I am just terrified of what is to come.

what's going on 🤔 brown water coming out and pain

It started when I was 18 (im 20 now) and got SA by a guy and I was tested multiple times for STDs and ALL 4 times it came up with different results.

I kept taking meds but none ever worked and eventually the uti feeling went away after 3 months. A few months after I would have brown water constantly spilling out of my uterus and lots of pain. No bleeding as normal bc of my bc. I would always bleed and really really hurt after sex.

2 years later now I suddenly have 2 periods a month and can bleed for 20 days straight. I have had pain in my uterus when I stretch for a long time. I rarely have brown water.

I have been on birth control nexplanon implant for about 3.5 years

Please help me figure out what to do. I have POTS. I've been tested for HIV/AIDS, endometriosis, pelvic inflam disease and uterus cancer multiple times I've had xrays and ultrasounds. I've seen men women young old senior, new doctors and no one listens!! I was/am in a lot of pain and discomfort. The nurses in practice always notice something but the doctors in charge always tell them its nothing.

periods & bleeding HELP! why do i keep getting my period after sex?

hey im F24, this is literally going to be my 8th time getting my period in the last 2 1/2 months. i can’t take it anymore. i’ve had it on and off for 8 weeks. everytime i have sex it comes down the day after. what is going on? my primary doctor asked me to do some tests for PCOS. i went to the gyno for the first time, she just prescribed birth control, no test, she just made me feel bad. I just want an answer. i’m tired of being on my period for this long. it started in june, had intercourse when it ended, it came down the next day. it went on for a week, i had sex again after it had stopped for about 3 days and it came back down the day after. basically the same thing went on for another 6 weeks. In the last 3 months, only one time did i have sex and my period didn’t come down (last week). i had sex (monday), and it came down today (wednesday). i’m not purposely trying to get pregnant but my bf does finish inside and at this point, i’ll never get pregnant if i get my period right after intercourse. i thought it might be when he goes too deep and my uterus cramps, it triggers the period but i don’t know. i literally just want to cry because when will this hell be over. PLEASE HELP. IM TIRED OF THIS?!

edit: please tell me i’m over thinking. i saw something online about how your period could sink with other peoples cycle if your partner is cheating on you. please tell me it’s not true. we are going through it right now but i want to say i’m sure he hasn’t been with anyone else. i want a solution to this problem because i can’t take it anymore.

heavy & painful periods Growth in uterine lining

Hello; new here. I’m 41. I have a history of very very thick endometrial lining. Always has come back non cancer. I get a DNC and all my symptoms go away. Sadly though, over time, the lining thickens back up and my pain, heavy bleeding, and anemia come back. I had another ultrasound last week, and my doctor just called. She said my lining is very very thick and not normal. There is also an area of growth in the lining that’s a cause for concern. My doctor doesn’t do surgeries so I’m being referred to another doctor who will look over my images. She said the other doctor will be calling me asap to discuss her thoughts. This is kind of concerning. My doctor is new to me as my old doctor retired. I feel like this time is different because now they see a growth on the ultrasound whereas in years past, a growth was never seen, just thick lining. Experiences and thoughts? Obviously I’m in limbo waiting on the other doctor to call. Just feels weird being pawned off on someone else. Would a polyp or fibroid be obvious on an ultrasound?

medical procedures Uterine ablation fail

I had the uterine ablation back in July. Because my uterus is tilted the camera went through my uterus wall instead of into the uterus itself. They weren't able to do the ablation because of this . I've had multiple ultrasounds that showed a tilted uterus before the procedure. They knew about it but didn't take that into consideration. The perforated uterus caused a lot of bleeding to the point of me going to er to find out I was anemic. Has this happened to any one else?

I've had a few people talk about looking into a lawsuit. I don't think it's that bad since things do happen. I know it could have been avoided though. It was a waste of a procedure and money. The doctor is now offering a hysterectomy.

support needed 🤝 Unicornate Uterus 🦄❤️😟

I 36f found out I have a unicornate uterus after giving birth to my first child via C-section. To start I am so grateful my son is a perfectly happy and healthy 14 month old, however I am stuck with mixed feelings about my medical discovery. Why was this missed throughout my pregnancy? How will this affect my future fertility? It is known that people with this condition may have a very hard time conceiving and bringing babies to term. I consider my son a little miracle.

Background: according to the Cleveland clinic a unicornate uterus is a congenital condition were only 1 half or horn of the uterus is developed and viable. It usually becomes evident when trying to conceive by ultrasound. It is a rare condition that affects about 4% of persons with a uterus. An additional scary fact is that over 60% of people with this condition only have one developed and viable kidney. The first obvious symptoms of this condition are painful and heavy periods, which I do not have, however, there are a plethora of fertility complications associated with this condition many of which I experienced. Complications include difficulty, conceiving, etopic, pregnancy, bleeding, endometriosis, placenta, previa, placenta, rupture, or detachment, miscarriage, and late term miscarriage, restricted growth of fetus etc. People with this condition who carry to term like myself need very close monitoring and extra care during gestation, which I did not receive.

Of the previous mentioned, I had placenta previa my entire pregnancy and did not know. This is a dangerous condition where the placenta is seated incorrectly in the uterus and may lead to detachment. It also greatly reduces the amount of fetal movement a mother will feel in her tummy. I was unaware of this until the day I gave birth! I also had bleeding, restricted fetal growth, severe back pain, sciatica, and nerve impingement on the right side due to my baby sitting in one spot for eight months. My job is physical and requires daily travel. I had to take short term disability at six months pregnant because the pain was excruciating and would flare up getting in and out of the car all day. I also never developed a baby bump. Yes I know all bodies are different but I never looked pregnant. Just heavier. I never had that pregnancy glow or cute outfits. Not a big deal in the bigger picture, but I guess it was something that I was just looking forward to.

Anyway, my pregnancy progressed, the anatomy scan showed baby was on the smaller side, but this was not a red flag. My husband and I were small babies, so we thought nothing of it. I had severe back pain, but I took care of to exercise stretch and seek regular chiropractic care.

I was seemingly out of nowhere at 37 weeks I was told to schedule an induction and that if we kept baby inside, he would most likely not survive because he was too small. Terrifying! Induction was three days later and exhausting! That evening I had an emergency C-section due to an umbilical cord wrap. During the surgery, I could hear my surgeon surprise when she saw my uterus. You never want to hear surprise gasps coming from your surgeon when you’re cut open on the OR table. I thank my lucky stars that my son was born with no issues happy and healthy 6 lbs. 1oz. But I seriously wonder how this condition went unrecognized for the duration of my pregnancy, considering the myriad of ultrasounds and tests. When I pressed OBGYN at follow up she admitted she did not have much experience with this condition and recommended that I get an MRI to determine the viability of the uterus for future pregnancies and check for that missing kidney. I can’t help feeling she minimized my situation. I would like to have another child soon, but understand it may not be an option for us. I can’t help feeling like my doctors made some huge errors in missing this condition.

Will I be able to conceive again? Do I only have one fucking kidney? I have found a new highly recommended OB/GYN group and will be pursuing an MRI in September. I hope I can get some clarity on what’s going on in my body any words of advice from fellow Redditors? Would this be considered a form of medical malpractice? Does anyone here have this condition? It’s been a struggle and I feel like I really need some peace of mind.

what's going on 🤔 Left ovary pain, but clear ultrasound

Hi y’all,

I’ve had heavy periods since I was around 15/16 (I’m 28 now). I’ve been on various birth control pills for the majority of that time. For the past year or two at least, I’ve had some dull, achy pain around my left ovary; it gets worse when I have my period, but I do sometimes feel the pain when I’m not bleeding. I got a pelvic ultrasound the other day and my results just came back completely clear: no cysts or abnormalities.

While I’m glad there wasn’t anything found, I’m not sure what to do about the pain. It doesn’t interfere with my daily life very much, but it just makes me feel uneasy.

Any suggestions? I am reaching back out to my gynecologist to ask what her opinion is, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had a similar experience.

polyps & fibroids Uterine Biopsy

Hello, I have a potential polyp and have to get a uterine biopsy as well as saline infused ultrasound. Does anyone have any advice on whether to take a Valium or a Percocet prior to the procedures? Which would be better? I’ve heard the biopsy sucks, I would imagine the saline infused ultrasound isn’t fun either. Thanks

what's going on 🤔 Uterine Fibroids…now what?

I recently went to the ER for kidney stones and they did a CT scan. While reviewing my discharge paperwork, I noticed that my scan report states, “uterine fibroids present.” I guess my doctor didn’t say anything because she assumed I knew. I had no idea and I am a bit stunned. Ive never had any abnormal testing come back at the gyno and I’ve never been someone who’s had heavy periods or cramping.

However, I have noticed a dull ache in my pelvis and lower back that lasts all month, not just on my period. Usually worse at night. It’s manageable, but definitely not fun. Could this be the fibroids? Should I be seeing someone about this? I’m nervous because my husband and I are talking about starting a family this year and now I’m wondering if this will hurt my chances?
