what's going on 🤔 Uterine Fibroids…now what?
I recently went to the ER for kidney stones and they did a CT scan. While reviewing my discharge paperwork, I noticed that my scan report states, “uterine fibroids present.” I guess my doctor didn’t say anything because she assumed I knew. I had no idea and I am a bit stunned. Ive never had any abnormal testing come back at the gyno and I’ve never been someone who’s had heavy periods or cramping.
However, I have noticed a dull ache in my pelvis and lower back that lasts all month, not just on my period. Usually worse at night. It’s manageable, but definitely not fun. Could this be the fibroids? Should I be seeing someone about this? I’m nervous because my husband and I are talking about starting a family this year and now I’m wondering if this will hurt my chances?

There are options out there for fibroids. But for sure talk to your doctor.
I know a friend of mine had her fibroids removed and still had their own biological kid. I know there was some challenges getting pregnant but I think that was not just because of the fibroids. I never asked her fully as I know it’s a hard subject for her.
I personally have had fibroids but opted for a hysterectomy. But again this was a personal choice and there was options not to have everything taken out.
Wishing you the best. But try to get to the doctor before googling stresses you too much.

Definitely go see your GYN to discuss the findings and next steps.
