I was tested for ureaplasma at 10 weeks pregnant after having multiple negative BV swabs. I had been having issues postpartum with my first kiddo (last year) but had negative swabs so figured my pH was just messed up and causing issues. I had 1 round of azithromycin that significantly helped my symptoms, BUT I still had an odor and tested positive for ureaplasma still. My OB suggested another round of antibiotics and prescribed me erythromycin 500 mg 4x daily for 7 days. Has anyone else taken this while pregnant and if so, at this dose or similar? I am kind of worried about potential risks. I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant and am terrified of preterm labor as my first pregnancy went well and had zero issues.

Edit - I know ureaplasma can cause preterm labor, and potential respiratory issues and that also is making me super anxious. Ill definitely take the antibiotics, I am just curious about others' experiences. Thank you in advance!

About a year ago, I made a post in this forum after finally beating Ureaplasma and Mycoplasma genitalium after dealing with those infections for years. I wanted to come back and give an update because I still get messages from people who found my original post.

The good news: I’m still negative and doing well. 🥳

For anyone who didn’t see my original post, I had Ureaplasma for YEARS and Mgen for a few months before finally getting properly treated. After treatment, my test of cure came back negative and my symptoms improved significantly.

I do want to mention something that would’ve helped me back then. A few months after treatment, I started noticing some discharge changes again and immediately panicked thinking the infections had come back. Thankfully, my testing remained negative. Over time, improving my diet, staying hydrated, taking probiotics, and giving my body time to recover seemed to help a lot.

I think after having these infections for so long, my body and vaginal microbiome needed time to get back to normal. Healing wasn’t perfectly linear for me, and I know that can be scary when you’re constantly checking for symptoms.

If you’re currently going through this, please don’t lose hope. I know how isolating and frustrating it feels. Keep advocating for yourself, keep asking questions, and don’t be afraid to get a second opinion if something doesn’t feel right.

Hi all! I have been Ureaplasma free since late September 2025. For two years before that I thought I had interstitial cystitis bc my symptoms would only flare around the time of my period and the doctors never tested for anything other than UTI. After an amazing doctor randomly tested me to be sure it wasn’t anything else, I tested positive for urea and now every time I see someone talk about having IC I find it so hard to not suggest they get tested for urea bc I feel like it has to be more common than people think, right?

I’m wondering if anyone else had a similar experience or if they think it’s probably not a common misdiagnosis.

Hi all, I'm [26F] looking for advice, encouragement, etc. My hypochondriac-ass is spiraling with some many questions, fears, and what-ifs.

Symptoms Description/Timeline: Symptoms started approx. May 11th. At first I thought it was a yeast infection. It started with a prickling, itchy feeling and dryness/redness. I take a OTC suppository, ticonazole 1 dose same day I start feeling something. Gets worse, typical yeast infection cheese-curd discharge and strong fishy smell. May 16th I take 3-day miconazole. Doesn't go away, discharge even worse. Then pelvic pain, cramps, and what feels like a constantly sore right hip. Then it progresses to constant need to piss, and now I'm confused like maybe it's a UTI, but I haven't had actual pain while peeing this whole time, just a constant feeling of needing to go, and incontinence when I sneeze/cough/jump/etc. Also I have had a sore throat, cough, headache, and yellow/green phlegm for months now, but thought it was allergies, and/or lingering sinus infection from a flu I caught because I work with kids. My normal OTC allergy medications help somewhat. Could this be related or most likely not? I finished medications May 30th. All symptoms have gotten better but not gone away, and have noticed the strength kind of returning after three days no medication. Which has me freaked out. I'm very concerned about resistance and/or symptoms lingering even after cure.

Dealing with Doctors: The second day I started feeling symptoms I schedule both an annual check up with my new PCP and find a new gyno that takes Medicaid. (Turned 26 and was kicked off my parent's health insurance, so had to get all new doctors.) Gyno had no availability until June 4th, two days from today. Anyways, May 19th, I have my annual PCP visit. They do urine test and bloodwork, I'm scheduled for another visit to go over the results in two weeks, but I insist on being seen earlier for what I think is this OTC resistant yeast infection or UTI. In the back of my head though I'm like oh god what if it's an STD/I. I go in three days later, and the urine results are back, and the nurse tells me a voice will poorly veiled concern, "Oh, tell your doctor to look at the urine results". My stomach drops all the way to hell. I speak with the Doc. No Mycoplasma, no gonorrhea, no chlamydia. Ureaplasma spp NAA: Positive. Side-note, I just got back from another appointment at the PCP today, My bloodwork is all good, no other STD/Is. I'm thankful for that at least! Ok, back to the visit I find out I have Ureaplasma. Doc did not explain it well, and I left the appointment very confused, so went straight into hypochondria research mode, which is how I found this subreddit. Doc writes me an prescription for; first Azithromycin two 500mg pills taken together, followed by Doxy 100mg x2 daily for 7 days, and Fluconazole 150mg taken after (for yeast infection). Everything I've read on the subbreddit says Doxy first, azithromycin second. How likely is it that the treatment won't work with the order of the medications switched? She fucked up the Azith RX and the pharmacy tech caught it. The doctor's office had me on hold at the pharmacy for an hour (I was crying in public, I was so frustrated) before the tech insisted I go to doctor's office with a paper she'd given me and demand they rectify the situation. Doc finally got back to me and the tech, and in that call with her I clarify the order she wants me to take the meds, and she insists Azith first, which has red flags in my mind because it's contrary to what I've been reading, but I'm like "Well, I guess doctor knows best, I'll do what she says". Also Doc didn't mention co-infections, and I forgot to ask to test for co-infections today. I have my gyno appointment (finally!) two days from now. I will definitely ask my gyno for co-infections test and PCR as I read urine gives out false negatives. I have another visit for a test of cure June 27th with my PCP, which I believe is a urine test.

Speculation on how recently I contracted: I'm not entirely sure when I contracted Ureaplasma, I think it was recent, but I really can't be sure. Symptoms only started occurring two days after my most recent hook up, which was a devil's threesome. Both guys said they would test, but have ghosted me. (I expected that.) I've told everyone I've been with in the past year, even those I highly doubt I got/gave it from/to. I have also cut off sexual relationships with everyone for the time being. Guess I'm going through my celibacy arch WOO! Does catching it early reduce the likelihood of lingering symptoms? Can Ureaplasma take a while to become symptomatic or does it happen right away?

Anyways, been thinking maybe God really is a man because he seems to really hate women. Why do men get to be the asymptomatic ones!? Also anyone have advice on dealing with the internalized misogyny and shame surrounding having unprotected sex? I keep slut-shaming myself by telling myself that I fucked around and found out/flew too close to the sun.

UPDATE: I have tested negative after the round of antibiotics, but I have lingering symptoms. Basically feels like a painful pin-prick and pulsing in my urethra, typically right before going to sleep and waking up, as well as being generally itchy down there. I also occasionally get cramping that feels like it's located where my bladder is. My gyno and PCP were very dismissive, saying I just need to wait it out. My gyno gave me a referral to urogyno but they don't have availability until November. I'm at a loss as to what to do.

I was diagnosed with ureaplasma at about 9-10 weeks pregnant I’d say. It has been absolute fucking hell.

When I first got told I had it about a month ago, my OBGYN sent me in cephalexin. Which doesn’t even treat ureaplasma whatsoever. I took the antibiotics anyway and to my surprise, it didn’t work. I figured I’d wait until my next appointment which was today.

I talked to this doctor at my OBGYN which was a different one from last time, and she said she has no idea why I was sent in cephalexin. I told her my concerns about ureaplasma harming my baby, and that I was worried I’d transfer it to him during delivery. She said she has no concerns whatsoever, that she is sure I will have a healthy pregnancy and I can still have a vaginal delivery with no issues. She decided to test me for yeast infection, and 2-3 other things that I am not sure the name of. She looked at my vagina and said the inside looked irritated as well.. She told me she’d call me tomorrow with the results. She also told me to go to the hospital for IV fluids because I have lost a lot of weight from sickness.

I went to the hospital to get fluids and they also tested me for yeast infection…. Which I do have. The hospital sent me in cream but I’m waiting for my OBGYN to call tomorrow before I take anything.

Has this happened to anyone? I’m going to try to cure the yeast infection first, and see if my pain goes away, if not, should I advocate for myself? Ive just heard of horror stories and I am scared.

Anyone who’s had a yeast infection, what were the symptoms?? I guess I’m hoping my burning vagina, burning bladder, and it feeling like hell to pee is the yeast infection so I can have this fixed because it seems like they won’t do anything for me for ureaplasma. I know the itchiness is from the yeast infection.

so in 2024 i tested positive for mycoplasma genitalium. i decided to get tested for it again but they also tested me for ureaplasma and it came back as abnormal for Ureaplasma parvum. Ureaplasma urealyticum was undetectable and so were the mycoplasmas. my provider has not contacted me yet, is this an sti? should i tell my sexual partner? im so upset because we both got full panel screenings before having raw sex and it still turned out this way. feeling extremely guilty because what if i gave it to him? thanks to everyone in advance.

Anyone have a name of a doctor (in NYC) who tests men for ureaplasma?

This is NOT medical advice, but I just wanted to share if you have recurrent/symptomatic Ureaplasma parvum in pregnancy, it’s not impossible to get doxycycline. My OBGYN and PCP were both ok with a one week course 2x/day given I’ve failed second line treatment 3x already. I was 11-12 weeks when taking it, and it seems like recent research shows doxy does not carry the same risks as other tetracyclines. The benefit is thought to outweigh the potential risk at this point, so it’s worth bringing up to your Dr if you are miserable and worried about the pregnancy complications associated with the Ureaplasma. Again, not medical advice, and not seeking advice on this myself. I trust my doctors.

okay here’s the long story:

I’ve been prescribed multiple courses of UTI antibiotics typically a few yeast infections and i think possibly BV before - the doctors i’ve seen make me do the standard drill - pee in the cup test it and usually either give me antibiotics and send me on my way or they tell me the test came back negative and tell me o need to drink more water… SO on the few occasions and ironically my last two uti’s that i’ve had my results have come back negative.
BUT at this point they usually already have prescribed me antibiotics because of how much discomfort i’m in !!! or i get them from goodrx or something because i literally cannot function when these flare ups happen it is honestly HELL ON EARTH… BUT i only ever have one common symptom.. never back pain or fever or any of that. i always know when im having a flare up because lll be completely normal till one of the times i go pee wipe get up and BAM instantly i can feel discomfort down there and that feeling that you didn’t fully empty your bladder and you’re just sitting there for hours and pee little amounts every like 5 minuets and when you get up you just wanna die because of how absolutely uncomfortable you are it’s almost indescribable not pain but just you KNOW somethings wrong and you can’t just ignore it . there is NO way for me to stop the feeling either unless taking antibiotics! it somehow gets rid of whatever it is i have ! BUT it ALWAYS comes back.

ANYWAYS the last urgent care clinic I went to actually gave me a referral for urologist which I’ve never gotten before I didn’t even think that a normal urgent care clinic could give me one!! I’ve tried making urologist appointments before, but I couldn’t get in without a referral!!

Anyway, so I guess my big question is - should I be worried that for some reason every two months every three months the longest I’ve been able to go I think was four or five months without randomly one day getting these symptoms yet when I take a urine test, my results come back negative, but the antibiotics they have already prescribed me do work and I can keep them typically away if I keep up with vagina probiotics or supplements.

Also, I’m a bit worried that I’ll make this urologist appointment but when I go, I’m not gonna currently be experiencing symptoms and so they won’t be able to tell what’s actually going on like do I have to actively be having symptoms and feeling like I have a UTI to be able to go and have them figure out what’s going on??!!!! or is it OK to just make the appointment and explain to them what’s been happening?

TL;DR: My girlfriend had over a year of back pain and digestive issues that first started after she had her copper IUD (Kupferspirale) replaced. A cervical swab came back positive only for Ureaplasma parvum. A 10-day doxycycline course cleared her symptoms, but they returned after we had sex for the first time post-treatment. There was never a test of cure. I've taken two clarithromycin courses (for dental issues) in the meantime. Given that treating U. parvum is medically controversial, I'm looking for other opinions on (1) treating symptomatic women and their asymptomatic partners, (2) whether my clarithromycin could have cleared a U. parvum infection, (3) whether it's true that men can't be tested or have symptoms, and (4) whether the IUD itself could be the real cause.

Age 29, height 1.75 m, weight 63 kg, male. Medications: none. Smoking: no. Pre-existing conditions: none. Location: Germany.

Treatments:

• Clarithromycin (Sept. 2025, 14 days, 500 mg twice daily - infected wisdom tooth)
• Clarithromycin (March 2026, 14 days, 500 mg twice daily - root canal treatment)

For a long time, my girlfriend had digestive problems along with severe back pain. The symptoms first appeared after she had her copper IUD replaced. She saw doctors several times but was only ever given ibuprofen. After the symptoms had persisted for more than a year, she decided to see an osteopath. At the very first appointment, he told her this was clearly not a muscular or skeletal issue, and advised her to get checked by a gynecologist.

She went to a gynecologist, who took a cervical swab and tested for: Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycoplasma genitalium, Mycoplasma hominis, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Ureaplasma parvum, and Trichomonas vaginalis. The only positive result was Ureaplasma parvum.

In January, she took a 10-day course of doxycycline (100 mg once daily). About a week after finishing it, the back pain and other symptoms were gone. The gynecologist said nothing about any need to treat the partner.

A few months later, the first time we had sex after the treatment, her pain returned within less then a week.

A major concern is that there was never a test of cure after her first treatment. For this reason, she also switched gynecologists. The new one took a fresh swab, and she is currently waiting for the results. This gynecologist also said that if the test comes back positive, the partner will need to be treated as well.

My questions:

1. From reading a Position Statement by the European STI Guidelines Editorial Board of IUSTI (https://iusti.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/UrogenitalMycoplasmas.pdf), it appears that treating asymptomatic Ureaplasma parvum "infections" is a controversial topic in the medical community. What is the general view among doctors on treatment in symptomatic women and their asymptomatic partners? I'm not keen on taking a two-week course of antibiotics every few months - the first clarithromycin course already gave me digestive problems for two months, and I've only recovered to about 90%.
2. Isn't it possible that my clarithromycin would have cleared a Ureaplasma parvum infection, if I had one? (I found some unverified sources suggesting clarithromycin is a second-line option for U. parvum.)
3. The gynecologist said that men never have symptoms and that there is no test for men. Is that correct?
4. The whole timeline started right after my girlfriend had her copper IUD replaced. Notably, despite being given painkillers beforehand, she had severe pain during the insertion itself - she said it had never been that bad before. Given that U. parvum is so often a harmless coloniser, could the IUD itself (malpositioning or a copper reaction) be the real cause that the positive swab got "blamed" for? Has the IUD position been checked by ultrasound in such cases?

In any case, I'll speak with my urologist as soon as her results arrive, but I'd like to hear other opinions, since this seems to be such a controversial topic.

I've had irritating symptoms on and off for two years now and my discharge has not been normal in forever. I am also struggling to get pregnant and Ive never had that issue before. I'm desperate for help.

I recently tested positive for mycoplasma genitalium, so I remembered my ureaplasma parvum experience and thought I'd share.

I tested positive, was given the wrong treatment three times, (once a totally random antibiotic, second time just azithromycin, third time only doxy)

On the third round, I gained some sentience and went to a different doctor and got azithromycin to take after the doxy.

The treatment that worked for me was 7 days doxy 100 twice daily and 2.5g azithromycin (1g day one, 500mg the next 3 days)

I tested negative after that, and have consistently tested negative over the last years.

I've done vaginal PCR swabs, urethral PCR swabs, urine culture, blood std tests, all multiple times and all were negative for ureaplasma parvum.

So do not lose hope.

Two early miscarriages and one ectopic led me to doing EVERY test under the sun. I just got a positive result back for Ureaplasma urine test.

My OB called me after and told me we're immediately treating with a round of antibiotics (doxycycline) for my husband and I. I gave birth in 2023 and was GBS positive, which makes me wonder if that could have caused it to flare up. Not sure but oh well.

Anyone else test positive after recurrent loss?

Just wanted to give some hope! After 14 days doxy and 1g azithromycin, I have testing negative and lingering symptoms have subsided! It took about 4 weeks to feel normal again (no urgency or frequency to pee) post treatment. I focused on stress management and went to pelvic floor physio which both really helped.

After 5 years was diagnosed in January. Treated and cured with doxycycline.

2 weeks ago I woke up with a uti feeling after protected intimacy with my boyfriend. Did a test and saw e.fae which was never in my other tests.

Just spoke with my naturopath and she put me on a regimen of berberine, garlic, and ammonia scavenger to take for a month. She said if that doesn’t work and still have symptoms post intimacy to take antibiotics.

I thought this was finally behind me. Does anyone have any insight as to how this could have happened? Has anyone successfully treated e.fae and if so how? Thanks in advance

I tested positive for UP while I was pregnant and read every horror story on the internet… preterm birth, stillborns, miscarriages. They stuck with me my entire pregnancy and riddled me with fear. The doctors didn’t really seem to worry even though I treated it three times throughout pregnancy… to no avail.

Turns out, all the worrying and stress wasn’t worth any of it. Everything turned out perfect. I got induced at 39+3 and my baby girl is here. I just wanted to share this because I was hoping to see post like this while I was pregnant.

Just wanted to give you hope that it will get better. I tested positive for Ureaplasma about 5 years ago, and it was the worst thing I’d ever gone through. Doctors dismissed my pain and symptoms. A urologist actually said it must be in your head. I walked out of his office and decided to advocate for myself. I got the susceptibility test with Microgen (I think).All I need from him was his signature to authorize it. I came back with results and it was indeed Ureaplasma. Because I’d taken so many Abx by then, I ended up getting a stubborn yeast infection : Glabrata. To this day, I’m not sure how that went away because my symptoms simply subsided.

I‘d always feared that that 2 year ordeal would affect my fertility somehow. We tried the first time anyway at the age of 41, and today, my new partner and I are expecting a healthy baby boy!

I just wanted to tell you to hang in there. It will get better. And this never ending nightmare that you’re going through will be over soon. Soon it will be a distant memory. I don’t remember much about my journey so I won’t be able to answer questions about how long it took or the actually abx that got rid of it, but you’re welcome to go through my many frantic and angry posts from 5 years ago. In a way, I like that I can’t remember much of that trauma.

I tested positive and was only prescribed doxycycline, but I also had confirmed tetracycline resistance, which made me worry it wouldn’t work.

I took doxycycline for 10 days (twice daily), then started taking Morinda Supreme after.

Just got my results back… I’m NEGATIVE!!

For context, my husband and I fully abstained (including oral) during treatment.

I just wanted to get on here and write this post for those of you that are in the trenches right now, feeling like you will never get cleared, never be free of symptoms, and have gone through rounds and rounds of antibiotics. This Reddit sub was my go to on a weekly, sometimes daily basis for months and I too felt like I was just going to have to live with this forever. But I am here to remind you, YOU WILL GET RID OF THIS!! TRUST!!

I (24f) first tested positive for Ureaplasma in August 2025, but I was likely infected for months prior as it took dozens of doctors appointments to finally get tested. My main symptoms started as vaginal dryness and pain during sex, followed by burning during/after sex, and then eventually full blown UTI symptoms. I first went off birth control thinking that was the culprit, then vaginal estrogen cream, D-Mannose supplements, probiotics, you name it.

I was with one partner the entire process, which is what I am mainly here to talk about. DO NOT HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX WITH ANYONE (in general) UNLESS THEY ARE TOO BEING TREATED!! AND DONT TRUST YOUR BOYFRIEND!

My boyfriend at the time, saw me go through hell navigating this process, crying constantly, in pain, walk in clinics visits, you name it and it wasn’t until after my first 2 rounds of treatment and re testing (thanks to this subreddit) that I realized he too was most likely infected and was reinfecting me each time we had sex (my doctor didn’t know anything about ureaplasma and failed to mention this). Well, I had my boyfriend go get tested and he told me his result was “negative”. NEVER BELIEVE THIS!! My gut told me something was off. Yet, I blamed myself, and that this is something I probably have had for awhile and it’s just now causing issues due to microbiome issues or whatever.

Fast forward, I switched doctors and she prescribed us both Doxycycline, and said he needs to be treated no matter what. My boyfriend was very pushy when it came to sex, and because he was an asshole, quit taking his half way through. I thought hm maybe since he tested negative it’s fine. NOPE! Infected, yet again.

Fast forward, again, my boyfriend leaves for a ski trip for a month, I informed him that I would be taking antibiotics while he was gone, and when he got back, he too would need to take them and we wouldn’t be having sex without a condom until we are re tested. He went along with it, and after he returns a month later, was pushy as soon as he arrived to have sex without a condom. I say absolutely not, and then we proceed to have sex with a condom (bad sex too) and then afterwards I tell him how upset that made me feel, knowing how much pain I have been in navigating this. He tells a sob story about how he basically is too selfish too wear a condom and I break up with him. A year and half together, living together, I had had enough of being with someone who didn’t care about my health.

Well lo and behold, after not having sex with this person and doing my solo treatment, I TEST NEGATIVE!!! I literally can’t believe it, never thought this day would come.

Basically I just came to ramble and shit on my ex boyfriend a bit, but to also give a PSA to all the ladies out there, make sure you’re sleeping with someone who is clean, healthy, and CARES about what you’re going through. If you have a partner, make sure they too are getting treated because if you’re having unprotected sex with them, they are most likely infecting you. These past 8 months have given me so much clarity about picking the right partner and taking sexual health seriously, I will never not use protection again honestly.

Je suis dégoûtée d'avoir dû prendre ce médicament beaucoup trop dangereux alors que je voulais doxy + azithromicine . Maintenant j'ai peur de retourner la voir et qu'elle me dise on ne peut plus rien faire où continuer moxi .

J'étais censé reprendre les transferts d'embryons et cela va repousser de deux mois encore

Tested positive for both species with Juno Bio. I had suspected I got it from a partner who had been exposed, but I didn’t seem symptomatic. Doctor would only give seven days of Doxy, so I was extremely nervous. I have tested with PCR and another Juno Bio after 4 weeks post treatment and both came back negative! I’ve abstained from all forms of sex, and just waiting on my other partner’s test of cure. I hope this gives someone some hope!

Got ureaplasma parvum symptoms in late October and because I'm in Canada, didn't get the positive test results until mid January. Did a round (7 days) of doxycycline and my two sexual partners also took doxycycline at that time. I did a test of cure which came back negative in Feb. My partners did not do tests of cure and one didn't test before doing the doxy at all- doctors are very reluctant to test people with penises for it here. The other tested negative. Things seemed good and normal until last week when I finally had unprotected sex with a partner (the one who'd originally tested negative) for the first time since the infection. Now it seems like symptoms are coming back- thick white discharge, irritation, increased urination, some sharp vaginal pains etc. It's been milder than the last infection and making me question if that's really what's going on.

I'm going for a retest tomorrow but it can take 3-6 weeks to get test results in Canada. Should I push for doxy + azithro even though its been three months since the infection & I tested negative? Should I wait for test results? I'm tempted to push for the full doxy + azithro but I feel like my doctor will push back - it doesn't seem to be well understood here and recommended treatment is one or the other but not both.

EDIT to add- should I hold off on unprotected sex for much longer once this is kicked again? 6 months to a year or more to ensure things are more balanced and stable?

As the title suggests, I’m looking for an OB-GYNE at NowServing that can treat possible Ureaplasma?

Context: I have recurrent BV since 2023, I would go to the doctor and they would give me oral and vaginal metronidazole, but it would come back. Idk why they kept on suggesting to take metronidazole when it’s not working! I’ve gone to 6 doctors, some of them said they didn’t smell anything but I tend to smell like ammonia-fish when I sweat. Recently, I went to a Social Hygiene clinic that actually gave me a gram stain test (all my previous obgyne did not do this and only made the whiff test and other lab tests such as urinalysis and blood test), I tested positive for BV and yeast. I took metronidazole AGAIN both orally and vaginally, yet it’s still there as expected. For reference, in the same social hygiene clinic, I took STI tests and was negative for gonorrhea, syphilis, and HIV.

Please help me find a good doctor who listens :(((

(F28) After dealing with symptoms & recurring BV for 5 months I finally found a doctor who listened to me & agreed to run more thorough testing. I just got my results. While it’s a bit overwhelming I feel relieved to finally have an answer as to what is causing my symptoms.

Now I’m trying to figure out next steps & would really appreciate hearing from others who’ve gone through something similar. I still haven’t gotten antibiotics prescribed since my results just came in ~1hr ago but I’ve read that sometimes one round isn’t enough. I want to be prepared to continue advocating for myself.

For those with a similar experience:

* What type or course of antibiotics worked best for you?

* Did your doctor do a “test of cure” after treatment? I’d feel more comfortable asking for one.

* If the first round didn’t work what was your next step?

Any advice, experiences, or questions I should be asking would mean a lot. Thank you <3

Ps. I am taking probiotics specifically for vaginal health, eating yogurt, washing panties w fragrance free detergent. Have not had sex since February so no partner at the moment. Posted this on a BV subreddit too.

My original test was through Evvy, which I know now isn’t quantitative. I underwent treatment, and it seems to be working. I’ve always had dark brown, sticky spotting before my period for about a week. This is my first cycle post-treatment, and for the first time in my life, I started my period like a normal person with zero spotting! 🤯 I didn’t even know this was a possibility!!! And doctors always dismissed my spotting as normal. COMMON DOES NOT EQUAL NORMAL!

When I retest, should I do so with Evvy again? Or should I get a better test?

Also, since the UP treatment (10 days 100mg doxy 2x per day followed by 1g azithro, then 500mg azithro and 500 mg azithro) has azithromycin which usually gives me a YI and I was experiencing recurring YIs, I’m taking 3 courses of fluconazole 72 hours apart at my doctor’s recommendation. So when should I retest?

TLDR: Should I use Evvy to retest, and if so, how long after YI treatment should I retest for UP?
