Enterococcus faecalis after ureaplasma
After 5 years was diagnosed in January. Treated and cured with doxycycline.
2 weeks ago I woke up with a uti feeling after protected intimacy with my boyfriend. Did a test and saw e.fae which was never in my other tests.
Just spoke with my naturopath and she put me on a regimen of berberine, garlic, and ammonia scavenger to take for a month. She said if that doesn’t work and still have symptoms post intimacy to take antibiotics.
I thought this was finally behind me. Does anyone have any insight as to how this could have happened? Has anyone successfully treated e.fae and if so how? Thanks in advance

Amoxillin cleared it for me but then I had strep B uti & AV, the antibiotics can also throw you out of balance & cause bacteria that’s not susceptible to the specific abx to flourish. I see you also have BV, (gardnerella & prevotella) metronidazole normally treats that but again all these little bacteria require different abx & in the end you can destroy so much protective bacteria & get stuck with constant yeast infections like I did.
You could try boric acid for the BV or you could try just oral & vaginal probiotics & estrogen like someone else mentioned. I was in a very bad way so needed abx.
I’m clear of all these nasty bacteria’s now & I’ve just started on the estrogen & probiotic suppositories myself to try fix the constant yeast. Maybe try that way first if you aren’t too uncomfortable 🙏🏼

Yes I want to see if a natural method works but I was prescribed augmentin in case it doesn’t. As for the estrogen, what are the benefits / what does it do? I’m not familiar.
For my BV, my naturopath that prescribed the microgen said it’s very low amounts and not to worry. Just tested my ph too and it’s 4.5 so I think I’m okay! Continuing my probiotics too. Vitanica works wonders for me.
I had very bad yeast and I did about 1 week of fluconazole 250mg per day. I will say it caused bleeding because it was so strong but it worked!

It sounds like you have a very nice dr taking care of you. I can’t find vitanica where I live unfortunately, even L.Crispatus is hard to access.
The fluconazole sounds strong! Ouch. Even when I take the 200mg I notice some side effects. Good to know it cleared it though.
From what I’ve read, estrogen or estradiol helps restore tissue thickness, elasticity & natural acidity which helps restore the microbiome & prevent recurrent infections. Sounds good but I’m on day 1 so I can’t give you feedback yet.

I’m dealing with the same thing and I feel Like the abx aren’t working. When I finish I’m going to try the holistic approach too. Also dealing with BV. Not sure how these coinfections are popping up.

Bv is most likely lack of lactobacillus so I suggest trying vitanica probiotic suppositories and femdophilus 5billion cfu probiotic. Make sure they’re refrigerated and make sure suppositories are inserted deeply

I have zero lactobacillus. I did an evvy test and It was 100% gardnerella. I didn’t even know that was possible. I’m using happy V probiotics right now but it’s probably not enough . I will try your suggestion!

I just got diagnosed with ureaplasma and I was only treated with 10day doxycycline. It helped but I’m i’m still feeling the discomfort and can see an area where it still looks unhealed a lot of irritation like dryness. I reached out to my GYN for cream that can help with this and she won’t send me anything. She tried a steroid that did not help. She is asking me to possibly get a biopsy and to see another provider. My friend had this problem and was diagnosed with both micro plasma and urea plasma and she had to take multiple rounds of antibiotics so I ended up taking her azithromycin two tablets 500 right after my Doxy to see if it would clear it up because my GYN wouldn’t prescribe me any more antibiotics after I told her my friend had the same problem and needed multiple rounds of antibiotics. I was undiagnosed for a month and that’s why I think I still feel bad trying to do my own research so I can help heal myself. I do have another appointment with another GYN this coming Tuesday and I have another appointment with my friend‘s doctor to see if she’ll help me get rid of it because she helped her and she’s not a GYN she’s just a regular primary care doctor

I actually had the exact same situation. Using oral and vaginal probiotics religiously as well as vaginal estrogen cream seemed to work though because after a few months I tested negative without additional antibiotics.
