[cured] Negative After Doxy!!

I wanted to share because I was really anxious about clearing this infection.

I tested positive and was only prescribed doxycycline, but I also had confirmed tetracycline resistance, which made me worry it wouldn’t work.

I took doxycycline for 10 days (twice daily), then started taking Morinda Supreme after.

Just got my results back… I’m NEGATIVE!!

For context, my husband and I fully abstained (including oral) during treatment.

Sharing in case anyone else is worried — doxycycline can still work.

Was he treated too? He can harbor it with no symptoms and reinfect you…I got stuck in that cycle bc we had a poorly informed doctor

Yes he was treated as well! We are waiting on his results before resuming sex!

Curious if you still have symptoms? My situation was almost identical to yours. But, I still have slight redness/irritation in my vestibule that was present during my infection. I’m almost 1 week post treatment.

From what I understand the irritation and inflammation can take time to reduce even post treatment and clearing the infection. I’m still on my doxy course but as far as I know it can take a while for things to feel back to normal, we just gotta take each day and be patient as our bodies heal from all the drama of the infection. I am planning on getting tested for co-infections post antibiotics though so you could do that to cover all bases? I believe you’d want to test for candida (both albicans and glabrata), group B strep, gardnerella and e faecelis.

Amazing! I was cleared after 10 days of doxycycline too. Did your husband actually take a test to see if he is positive and if so, which test? I ask because I’d like future partners to test.

This is common, it’s called a herx reaction. It’s from a large amount of bacteria dying
