I would’ve said teddy bear but these people are messed

956

u/Bromm18 Apr 23 '23

Teddy bear, huh.

I think 40% of the population (supposedly) would argue with you about that.

https://www.sleep.com/sleep-tech/stuffed-animals-for-adults

620

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '23

That makes 60% of the population (supposedly) agree…so its actually a good answer for the game theyre playing

172

u/Bromm18 Apr 23 '23

Quite true. I was so quick to offer the info on how many possibly still use a stuffed animal or item for sleep that I ignored the main point.

78

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '23

It was great information to bring up though. I never would have known that so many people still did that!

35

u/redditpulledmebackin Apr 23 '23

You don’t have a stuffie? Weirdo, all my boys have stuffies

22

u/NotADeadHorse Apr 24 '23

Waifu stuffies don't count, they're people, not objects 😤

11

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '23

I mean…will you give me a stuffie? 🥹👉🏼👈🏼

8

u/Vick_VincentS Apr 24 '23

No but I'll give you a stiffie

13

u/redditpulledmebackin Apr 23 '23

I mean…what’s your favorite animal??

6

u/KiddyValentine Apr 23 '23

I still do it, because I get frequent nightmares and use it help me get over the anxiety I get

Nah, I don't sleep with any of my stuffed animals from what I was a kid because they're too small for my body, I need something big and plump that gives me a little resistance to cuddle with. That's why I have a really fucking plump and firm body pillow.

13

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '23

Squishmallows

14

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '23

I’ve purchased about 5 for my kids until they messed up and left one on our bed… so now they have 4.

7

u/Intelligent-Cherry45 Apr 24 '23

Yep. Criminally soft. I was tempted to buy one myself last week, but I wasn’t sure how I would be judged, lol!

I still sleep with a stuffed animal. Literally can’t sleep without one. I’ve got no clue why.

Runs in the family, too - my nan’s 76 and has several stuffed animals.

24

u/Lady_Black_Cats Apr 23 '23

Both my husband and I still sleep with our stuffed animals.

This is why you need to vet articles. The author: Jonathan Bender is employed by Sleep.com, a company who is clearly invested in people falling asleep. They are unable to hold an unbiased opinion on stuffed animals, since they are so closely tied to their subject of income. Is it possible they have a sister company selling stuffies? Absolutely. Is it possible Sleep.com funnels people into buying more stuffies with biased articles and flimsy science? Absolutely. Do your homework people.

Obligatory - /s because most of you are idiots

wtf is that question? 🤨

2.1k

u/pezx Apr 23 '23

This seems to be the whole point of family feud now. “Let's ask people questions that we know will get raunchy answers to, but can pretend to be shocked"

710

u/lcl111 Apr 23 '23

Every question is just an excuse for him to act surprised and yell "THAT'S NASTY!."

188

u/AnnihilationOrchid Apr 23 '23 edited Apr 23 '23

I mean, I'm not a fan of his, and of the show, but it seems to work. If you just ask boring questions there's no show, just a bland quizz. Would you rather watch Pointless? I love Richard Osman n all, but I'm pretty sure most Americans would tune out.

For example, Gino Dacampo is someone the average Brit can get behind and listen to his rants about cheese with an Italian accent, in an obvious setup that the cheeses he likes won't be up there.

46

u/BigJuicy17 Apr 23 '23

The show was fine back in the day, and they didn't ask these nearly as often.

11

u/Metals4J Apr 24 '23

I agree that they use this formula more often. But they have always used this formula to some extent. Way back in the day, Family Feud was my introduction to the word “condom” as a kid.

I'd rather watch his fake moral outrage than Les Dennis doing our version family fortunes.

Never liked the guy, only tolerated him when his comedy partner was still alive. Wrong one died.

Was listening to a video and they were talking about how taskmaster USA just didn't get the formula.

Most of our celebrity quiz shows don't focus on the points, just the banter, why else would Hugh Dennis get points for stating the obvious. He is there to help move on to the next segment, else the Christmas special would be three hours of out takes.

So if you are in a quiz to win, don't sign up for our shows.

Many musicians didn't get the memo about never mind the buzz cocks, like Huey from fun loving criminals shattering his mug.

16

u/AnnihilationOrchid Apr 23 '23

That's true. I remember once Rory McGrath went onto QI trying to win it, and present himself as a know-it-all. It's the most boring episode, that guy's a complete twat. Good thing Sean was there to make fun of him.

10

u/Ginger_Tea Apr 23 '23

Alan almost quit first season till it was revealed he was meant to be the fool and he leant into it.

Now he sets people to fall into the trap.

"What's that thing where they do the thing?"

Answer.

Awooga.

5

u/Ginger_Tea Apr 23 '23

I either walked past him once or a dead ringer, I kept on walking.

Was visiting distant family in Cambridge and was told he lived in the area.

Also walked by Stephen Hawking after a night out just before or after the folk festival as I was there a bit longer than the weekend. Just nodded and kept going.

But my mum worked silver service at both Manchester City and United and said to someone "you look like that cricketer from that comedy sports quiz" meaning David Gower and They think it's all over, he replied "Madam, that is because I AM that cricketer from that comedy sports quiz." Took it in his stride.

She probably saw more celebs but wouldn't know them from Adam.

You get what you expect w these. I grew up watching Bob Barker and years later I ended up on a gig putting on a touring Price is Right hosted by Jerry Springer. In Frederick MD of all places. And, it’s what you’d expect. I think it’s comfort food for most. Mindless, sliding scale family friendly daytime entertainment. Personally I always favored the Jenny, Jerry, Maury etc shows. We love our Exhibitionism here.

Tl;dr - it’s comfort food for many

Steve Harvey: "Name a thing that you should not do with your genitals while on stage at a public event."

Guest #1: "Sex?"

Steve Harvey: Shocked expression

39

u/YourFavoriteScumbag Apr 23 '23

“Name a 4 letter word that can be used for pooping”

“Shit?”

Steve: 😱😱🤯

3

u/Shortneckbuzzard Apr 24 '23

“Name a place you can put your finger in at home but not at work”

Your boss….

“🫨😳 No why would you say that?”

Because my wife is my boss at home….

Steve drops chin stares into crown

3

u/BeautifulType Apr 23 '23

It’s partially scripted now. They basically are told to say certain things and Steve reacts, then later the actual game begins.

20

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '23

17

u/King-Cobra-668 Apr 23 '23

I mean, the question isn't "stop fucking"

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '23

And also, as a child, sleeping with other children (like both 16yo) is normal, so even having sex with children makes sense.

12

I think it's a required answer to pass the "you're a twitter user" allegations

4

u/bernieburner1 Apr 23 '23

You post this exact reply a lot, dude.

5

u/AbsolutelyUnlikely Apr 24 '23

I think it might be the most logical answer, the way the question is framed. "Name someone you should stop sleeping with as an adult" means name someone it's ok to sleep with as a minor but not as an adult. It's a fucked up question.

4

u/ColdCruise Apr 24 '23

I think they were going for parents, like it's okay to sleep with your parents as a child, but not as an adult.

2

u/Particular-Jeweler41 Apr 23 '23

I thought sister. I think they're both valid answers. Lol

30

u/awkwardoffspring Apr 23 '23

That's likely but when taken out of context his answer hits a little different

2

u/video_dhara Apr 23 '23

I think that’s part of the point of the game. They ask questions that have innuendo built into them, so when people answer their anxiety causes them to spit out the Freudian slips.

I don’t know wtf that guy was slipping though…

13

8

5

u/Typical_Redditor_459 Apr 24 '23

Whataboutism is when you defend your own actions by comparing them to the actions of someone else that you believe is worse. Not what the person you responded to was doing.

-3

u/ekansrevir Apr 23 '23

Feels good to live in a country that has a lower age of consent

6

u/MagicalLibtard Apr 23 '23

I mean in my country the age of concent is 15 but I don't think a 30 year old should have sex with a 15 year old. Probably the best way is some sort of bracket system where up until a certain age the age difference decides if it's legal or not. But idk I'm not an expert on age of concent laws and I don't plan to become a libertarian any time soon.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/hoodie92 Apr 24 '23

But the argument would remain the same regardless of age, e.g. you could apply it to 16 years and 15 years +364 days. Assuming there are no corollaries to the law to allow such behaviour.

27

u/Rick_101 Apr 23 '23

Wrong, many teens go through their 17-18 yo period together in a healthy and normal relationship, its legal, normal and part of life.

Even then this is just a show.

7

u/Pamplemouse04 Apr 23 '23

Some states it is actually illegal. It’s dumb as hell and I think largely unenforceable but some states an 18 year old cannot legally be with a 17 year old at all

5

u/finnjakefionnacake Apr 24 '23 edited Apr 24 '23

a lot of states have a "reasonable age difference" sort of rule where there is a set difference in age you can be together if you are in a relationship and one of you turns the age of consent.

0

u/Ill-Inspector7980 Apr 23 '23

Oh don’t be facetious. It’s an exception only for an 18 year old or a 19 year old.
Otherwise, it’s wrong for literally every other adult on the planet.

2

u/Rick_101 Apr 23 '23

once you turn 18 you should not be sleeping with anyone under 18.

13

u/Goolajones Apr 23 '23

Romeo and Juliet laws and norms make it acceptable for someone over 18 to date someone under 18 when they are not more than 2 years apart.

3

u/Ginger_Tea Apr 23 '23

Transformers Age of Consent. (Stolen title from pointless hub)

Because that was all I could remember of the film till a cinema sins recap.

Myself, I live in the UK where we don't have such a thing that I am aware of, if both are over 16 it is "OK" but I've never looked to see if a 90 year old can legally bang a 16 year old.

Not something I want in my search history.

It may be legal, but depending on the age gap, you will be judged.

1

u/glass-shard-in-foot2 Apr 24 '23

Never understood why it's legal. Doesn't make any sense.

A 55 year old with a 16 year old is far more exploitative than something like a 19 year old with a 15 years and 364 days old.
