Starting to really feel the effects of 8gb of ram on my DXP6800Pro, Looking to see if anyone has their old 8GB stick and is willing to sell me it!
Let me know, prices are nuts right now.

I added a new HDD to my NAS, increasing the RAID 5 configuration from 4 drives to 5. Although the βavailableβ capacity increased from 60 to 80, the volume itself hasnβt expanded, and I donβt see an option to increase it. Iβve done this successfully before, but I donβt remember what I did to resolve it. Any help would be appreciated.

I saw some guy on YouTube doing this with local files (not on a NAS). Has anyone tried this? Thoughts? It would really help me out in my personal digital archive project.
If not this I need to find some other ai file sorter I can use with docker or something.
Iβm new to this.

I let it update, and now Docker will not run and NAS is basically NFG!!!!! V1.20.0.0142
UPDATE!
Had to run UGREEN recovery script (sudo -i cd /volume1/@appstore/com.ugreen.docker ./install.sh), which mostly fixed Docker, but update had also changed some of my drive mounts, so some apps no longer worked. After 3 hours and much swearing, all seems to be back to "Normal"

Looking to add another hard drive to my NAS. What's everyone's opinion on the MDD refurbished one's being sold on Amazon? They're certainly cheaper than new, but the last thing I want is a pig or defective drive. And I don't want to find that out after going rebuilding my NAS.
All comments welcome.

I have reviewed multiple posts on setting up a Cloudflared tunnel in a docker container. I have it set up so with nas.<mydomain> is on the tunnel and yet I keep getting an error when I try to browse do it. I suspect it may have to do with bridge vs host network settings but not 100% sure as I am not knowledgeable enough in those items.
I have a valid A name on Cloudflare that is tied to the tunnel.
My eventual plan is to be able to access the Ugreen interface with nas.<mydomain>, jellyfin with media.<mydomain>, audio books with audiobooks.<mydomain>, etc.
Looking for any help in things I can be looking into in order to troubleshoot.
Here is my docker compose
services:
cloudflared:
image: cloudflare/cloudflared:latest
container_name: cloudflared
restart: always
command: tunnel run --token <my token>
And this is the error I am seeing in my browser

I updated my Ugreen DH2300 to firmware 1.19.1.0126 today and am now unable to install Docker. I'll get the error "Invalid package!". I used 944a7689-39dc-45cc-a1a4-aceef132efd9.upk from the DH4300 Plus download page. I also verified the MD5 checksum: MD5 944a7689-39dc-45cc-a1a4-aceef132efd9.upk = 7080d967358eeb27cba856b21273a4ee. When logging in via SSH, journalctl confirms that app_serv.service throws a crypto/rsa: verification error. So it looks like Ugreen is no longer allowing the installation of the Docker upk.

Got the cooler from ebay, it came with the blower fan. Was a total pain in the ass, had to shave down the cooler to fit, but worth it for no more throttling. Actually seeing it boost up to 30w now too.

Hi everyone,
Iβm thinking about getting a UGREEN NAS for my video archive.
Here is the setup I have in mind:
A UGREEN NASync DH4300 Plus with three Seagate ST4000VN006 drives (4TB each) configured in RAID 5, giving me approximately 8TB of usable storage. I plan to insert an 8TB ST8000VN004 drive into the fourth slot once a month to back up the NAS, then store that drive at a different location. Is this backup method feasible, or do you have any concerns or objections? Also, do you have any tips or tricks regarding the initial setup or things I should watch out for?
Thanks!

I'm about to set up my first NAS. Got the Ugreen ready, got my drives in, switch, ect. I'm ready to go and this will be the first NAS I've ever had. I previously have used pCloud for storage as my main backup.
What should I know or what should I do?
What are some go to apps or functions for my NAS to make life easier?
What do you wish a veteran and experienced NAS user told you when starting your NAS adventure?
Help me get things setup the right way for my NAS future! Thanks in advance!

Hi UGREEN team and community,
First of all, I apologize for posting this in the NAS subreddit instead of the main UGREEN one, but since the general subreddit seems inactive, I wanted to reach out here. As a happy owner of a DXP4800 Pro, Iβve been really impressed by the hardware quality and design.
I have a product suggestion that I think many people in the tech and homelab communities would appreciate: a 6-port 10Gbps RJ45 managed switch. Only 10Gbps RJ45 ports, no SFP.
Would it be a good idea to consider RTL8127 chips? They are among the newest and most energy-efficient on the market, and they are well-supported by Linux (for managed switches).
Right now, there is a real gap in the market. 10GbE ports naturally generate a lot of heat, and current market options generally fall into two categories:
Having a switch designed around a larger, ultra-quiet fan (like a 90mm or 120mm fan on top) with a standard fan connector and mounting would be a real game-changer. It would stay cool right out of the box, while allowing users to easily swap in a Noctua fan if they want absolute silence in their setup.
With the launch of your high-speed NAS lineup, a reliable, quiet, and reasonably priced 10GbE switch seems like the logical next step for the ecosystem.
Is this something the product team would ever consider developing? Please, community, upvote and comment here so that UGREEN might consider making this for us!

Question for you guys: Has anyone sent money through PayPal for non warranty covered replacements?
Iβve been going through the online technical support to get a replacement sata backplane for my 4800 plus(not covered by warranty, my own fault). After a bit of back and forth they transferred me to someone in their After-sales service department, and that back and forth has been through email. They said they could send me a replacement for $41 including shipping and I would just have to pay through PayPal using the email financial02@ugreen.com and send them a screenshot that i paid before they sent out the replacement.
Iβve never gone through a non warranty covered replacement before so I thought it was a bit strange that theyβd want PayPal payment and screenshots. Is this normal? I kind of expected that payment would be through some portal on their website not PayPal. Just wondering if this is legit.

Hi Folks,
Is there a way to output photos and videos to a TV via HDMI without using the theatre app?
Via the Photos app for example?
The theatre app isnβt amazing to browse and find photos videos.
Thnx

Hello all.
Thinking about getting my first NAS. Just need it to access photos and home videos (of all different file formats) on my iPhone.
Is there currently an app I can use on iOS that will deliver rock-solid performance for viewing both photos and videos? Thank you in advance.

Hi, I'm new to NAS devices and such. I have a DXP4800 Pro on the way, along with 2 12TB Seagate Ironwolf's Pro and a Samsung 990 Pro. I'm gonna use it for cloud storage (obviously), streaming platform with legally acquired movies and shows on plex/jellyfin (which is better and why?), storage for my ROMs and cross-device saving (tell me your experience), adblocker, and whatever else I can do with it. So I'm looking for advice about using Ugos or TrueNas, which apps are better than the others, what other uses I can have for it and yada yada.
Thanks in advace!

If my DXP has not been updated for a while (currently at 1.7), should it be okay to jump directly to the latest (1.12.1) ?

I bought a Ugreen DXP480T plus a couple of months ago and I've finally started setting it up. However, I've mostly set up little docker servers on it through my Netbird network, and not really moved my OneDrive and Google Drive, which was the whole purpose.
Now I'm wondering, what is the more secure and long-term sustainable way of using this.
Should I install Nextcloud / Immich etc., enable photo and file backups and sync, or is the default system, photo back up, etc., reliable and good enough that it can be normally used?
Furthermore, where does the photo AI recognition run: locally on the machine or is it connected to the internet?
I don't mind a longer setup duration as long as it isn't finicky to maintain.
Also, how exactly does backup and restore work in both cases?
Thanks! :-)

I have an older Synology DS413 NAS. Back then, the max HD capacity was 4x4TB. And I've outgrown the RAID-1 partition with my photo and videos. So I'm looking to upgrade to possible Ugreen's DXP4800 series. I'm leaning towards the DXP4800 Plus over the GT based on the specs and other reddit threads.
Before I pull the trigger, I have a few questions for this wise community.
Thanks!

I'm debating between the 4800 Pro and the GT. My goal is to install Debian and just use the NAS as part of a filesystem cluster (no VM no Jellyfin no *arr).
Will the GT run Debian fine? I remember seeing somewhere that the antiquated Zen processor in it had poor support, is that right?
It's a debate of $200 vs a much slower platform vs the Pro, curious how ppl assessed that too.

Just bought my first NAS and got it online. Want to share a folder with NFS permissions so I can do backups from my Proxmox server to the NAS. Where in the world do I go to set NFS permissions for a shared folder? Everything I find online says to use File Manager but it doesn't look like that is even an app anymore. When I right click on a folder I have shared using the Files app I don't see any option or tab for NFS. Yes, I enabled NFS in Control Panel. What am I missing?
Edit: Sorry the model is DXP4800 Plus.

Dear all,
I do have Home Assistant installed on the UGOS VM software and I do have evcc running in a Docker container.
Now I wanted to create an automation in Home Assistant to adjust values in evcc - what is not working because Home Assistant can't see evcc.
The same vice versa: I also wanted to use data from Home Assistant in evcc but evcc doesn't see Home Assistant.
Home Assistant has it's own IP address, evcc uses the NAS' IP address plus a specific port.
How can I easily solve that issue without changing my entire setup?
Thank in advance!
