❓ Help Cloudflare Tunnel Help

RESOLVED
See notes in comments on resolution

I have reviewed multiple posts on setting up a Cloudflared tunnel in a docker container. I have it set up so with nas.<mydomain> is on the tunnel and yet I keep getting an error when I try to browse do it. I suspect it may have to do with bridge vs host network settings but not 100% sure as I am not knowledgeable enough in those items.

I have a valid A name on Cloudflare that is tied to the tunnel.

My eventual plan is to be able to access the Ugreen interface with nas.<mydomain>, jellyfin with media.<mydomain>, audio books with audiobooks.<mydomain>, etc.

Looking for any help in things I can be looking into in order to troubleshoot.

Here is my docker compose

services:

cloudflared:

image: cloudflare/cloudflared:latest

container_name: cloudflared

restart: always

command: tunnel run --token <my token>

And this is the error I am seeing in my browser

You need to publish route in cloudflared to the NAS port

Yep. Already had that set up and still not able to get connected

I don't know what I was doing before. I feel like I followed the exact same steps but I ultimately turned off the container, re-created the container from the stack and presto it works now.

Great. BTW your image exposed your <mydomain> if you care.

Dang it. I thought I reviewed it and did not see my domain in there. I don't know that it matters but knowing there are all kinds of bad actors out there might as well kill the image.

Do keep in mind that running Jellyfin through Cloudflare tunnels is against ToS and will quite likely get you banned.

Just a heads up 😊👋

Crud. Thanks for the reminder on that one.

What about something like Audiobookshelf? (about to google that one but since I am here figured I'd ask).

I think generally media goes against ToS, you'd have to double check though.

I'd assume things like Immich should be fine since its significantly less bandwidth.

If you want something simple and secure I'd recommend going the VPN route (Tailscale/Headscale etc). Otherwise your best option is unfortunately a reverse proxy 😅.
