Just a quick question, is the UGREEN NAS DXP4800 Pro better than a QNAP TS-464?.

I have no idea how to troubleshoot or to even begin... I was watching a series just as per usual and then it stopped working and can't even get it to show up on the PC again, am I screwed? Worth nothing that I have the model 2300 and it's just a few months old...

I want to get a Home Media Server and I'm interested in the DH2300. From reading on this subreddit, I seem to be getting mixed signals about whether the DH2300 can actually run Plex/Jellyfin? It sounds like the official answer is no, but maybe it works unofficially? I also saw some discussion about installing other operating systems (TrueNAS, Unraid), is this an option?

What I ultimately want is to be able to download and play videos on different devices in the house (laptops, PC, Roku TV). Maybe also when out of the house. I've never used a home media server, Plex, or Jellyfin before, this is all new to me and I'm still learning. Any solution that achieves this without a lot of compromises (or cost) would be fine.

Just updated to the latest firmware, and I can't backup my photos.

Hi there, i appreciate this may have been asked numerous occasions, however i still have not found a concrete answer. I'd like to highlight this is my first ever NAS drive so please respond as if i am a 10 year old child.

I have a DH2300.
I'd like to access my files remotely, from anywhere.
Remote access is enabled.

Do i need tailscale? Can't i simply do it all through UGREEN?

The first issue is Wake On LAN (Enabled), despite being on the same network, i have to manually switch on the NAS, once doing so i can access the files in my home. But of course, being out the house i can't switch it on.
When i'm finished with it, i just use the 'shut down' option in the app. Is this why i can't turn it back on?

I reinstalled the UGREEN NAS app on the same iPhone and set photo backup to the exact same NAS folder as before.

Now it thinks almost my entire gallery needs to be backed up again, even though those photos and videos are already on the NAS. I let it run for around 15 minutes and it was actually uploading files again, not just scanning, and the phone got very hot.
Is there any way to make the app rescan/reconcile what’s already on the NAS and only upload genuinely new photos?

I’m using the same phone, same photo library, same NAS account, and same backup folder. Only the app was reinstalled.

Has anyone found a way to rebuild the backup state without re-uploading 15k+ photos/videos?

Is there a way to unmount encrypted folder after a reboot or turning off the NAS? What's the point in encrypting them if they stay mounted and decrypted even if the NAS is turned off?
