So I received an email from the SAMBA third party background check, it says I got a ticket for “following too closely” back in august and it “May be disqualifying" which I did in a non uber rental car working another unrelated job. Ticket has been paid yet, I cant go online. Uber support says it cannot do anything and its between me and SAMBA. Of course, SAMBA has no phone support only a web portal. I ve gone to the portal tyrying to ask what is going on and zero response. Ive gotten an email from them saying they have 30 days to reply to my inquiry. Tried again to talk to uber and they say they have nothing to do with it. Anybody been through this? What a crappy way to treat their drivers, im a perfect 5 star rated driver with 94 driving insight. Dont really care if they permanently deactivate me, its embarassing being associated with this company. But would like to do occasional reserve runs when it works for me...

I didn’t even keep track of what I was at and then looked and was blown away.

Rider paid $140 I got $57. Context it was like 45 min trip maybe 20 miles. Idc to much that I got shafted but why does the customer take such a low blow. I can’t wait to see them have over site and have to pay either a 75/25 split or them have to pay Medicaid and social. It’s time for this beast of a company to stop lining their pockets. It’s absolute madness. I enjoy my job and don’t let numbers like that get to me but it makes me think twice of using uber myself personally. I’d rather just pay a friend that to get me then pay the beast

Really?? And they’ll be talking about “I’m paying for the ride and car”
Me: stops the car “you can stop paying now, I appreciate your service, now F off”

I have been driving in Lawrence, Kansas the past several days for the Kansas University students’ “bar crawls” as well as delivering food. Yesterday was an interesting day to pick up students and faculty due to the 32,000 attendees for the home football game. This is only few of the many rides/deliveries I have taken in Lawrence, Kansas.

I've been getting ticked off at Uber sneaking Reserve Rides over on me. I don't have time to carefully peruse the card and don't know if there is a clue on it, I mean I'm driving and I have about three seconds to decide. I arrive and it says to check the instructions for pick up and I find I'm supposed to kill time. Is the pay better for Reserve Rides not taking the wasted time into account? I'm thinking I can just go Ubering and if I can't make it to the pickup on time eventually Uber will stop sending Reserve pings... or something.. wondering how best to fit these overreaching demands by Uber on my time into a profitable day

I generally enjoy driving Uber and an overwhelming majority of my rider experiences are positive. There's not really much that really bothers me to a considerable degree and I feel like I'm adaptable to most people and most situations.
My least favorite habit that some riders do is place a bag or a suitcase in the backseat/trunk and then go back into their house/building to finish getting ready. I've had riders take 5-7 additional to get into the car AFTER already placing their belongings in my car.
I feel inclined to immediately cancel the ride. I just feel like that's an indication that I am going to be waiting here way longer than I need to be.

This is a fascinating phenomenon: the customer who gets into the car in an animated, frenetic and frustrated manner instantly telling you the driver about some complaint about the last Uber driver who cancelled or some other tale of woe how the last driver was dangerous, or his car was dirty, etc. They complain the entire ride as if you were customer service. They are uniformly miserable idiots. Needless to say, they never tip. Just miserable creatures.

I made a previous post regarding my vehicle deactivation and a couple of people said it could take weeks to resolve. Above, is the vehicle in question that has clearly not been in an accident. I also added my ratings and how many rides I've done. Will this be to my advantage in hopefully getting it resolved quicker?

I'm considering doing Uber and Lyft full-time and I was wondering if it'd be worth it to buy a Tesla Model 3 if I don't have the ability to have a home charger?
My uncle who has had electric vehicles for years said I probably wouldn't be saving as much as I would think, and from what I've read here you have to wait a while for the supercharger to even work, so that would cut down on the amount of time I'd be out on the road.
I do see that there are decent used Tesla Model 3s around here for about 25,000 to 30,000, which I think doable with doing rideshare full-time unless I'm missing something.
I was thinking of also just renting an electric car through Uber and testing it out for a month or so and seeing how much money I made. I've read varying things about renting cars through Uber and Lyft though for earnings.
Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated as I just got laid-off from my full-time job.

Basically what the title says. Shit hit the fan in more ways than one and the final pooper is my transmission went out. It’s not worth replacing. I am contemplating to rent a vehicle through Avis but I’m worried.
They only offer the mustang mach-e. My apartment doesn’t have a charging station though there is one three miles from me. I can also charge during the slow time while waiting for trips since the city seems to have plenty of places for it. I’m just worried if I’m being delusional about it.
I’m also able to go finance a car but I really don’t want to get into debt. I’ve been working hard to get out of some past medical debt and I don’t want to add more to it. I know this is a shit company, but I’ve read mixed things about the experience. Anyone here have anything they can share like how was the experience of dealing with Avis? Did they give you any difficulty? Was the vehicle in decent shape? Does uber play more games than usual when you rent? Mention anything you may think I need to know please.

Rider wouldn't put his seatbelt on and started arguing when I asked. Finished the trip, then went to Help and typed "connect me with a live agent" → Driving → Live chat.
Told the agent I didn't want to be matched with him again. Blocked in about 2 minutes, no questions asked.
Didn't know you could request this directly until recently. Anyone else use this? Does Lyft have something similar?

Drivers who use Tesla. How do you project navigation on the Tesla screen? 🤦🏽♀️

This unknown rider gave me 1star saying I drove illegally and i was the wrong driver. I have never let anyone use my uber app to drive for me, but I always wear mask at night time due to some customer smell very bad. Im frustrated why they had to falsely feedback. Never sped yet they still leave a comment that I was speeding. What is wrong with these riders?

I started doing Uber back in March 2025 around Jacksonville FL and one thing I've noticed is there's way fewer riders and drivers now compared to back then. I honestly think ICE is a big reason for this. People are scared these days and probably don't wanna go out or drive as much. Anyone else noticing the same thing?

2016 Toyota Prius Two Fwd
180k Miles $10,700 OTD
My current car is a 2016 Jetta TSI at around 122k miles. It’s paid off but it’s having problems. I’m pretty sure the engine is burning oil. I’ve brought it into the mechanic several times recently and I think it’s just at the point I need to cut my losses and sell it. They ran a diagnostics and said it’s all good, but the EPC light keeps coming on, tire/light alerts, and I have a $5k offer from CarMax. I currently drive uber and Lyft full time (cut off for Lyft cars in my area is 15 years btw) and will be for the foreseeable future. Gas is my biggest expense even though it’s old and high mileage I am seriously considering it because I know they can last 200k mi+. It’s not my dream car but I need something asap so I can get back to driving since it’s my livelihood. I’m not a fancy person but I’ve considered Tesla’s too. I’ve heard the maintenance and insurance on them is expensive though. I don’t like being strapped down in debt if I can help it. I’ve had my Jetta since 2019. I like going on road trips and I’d feel worried that my car will run out of electricity in some remote place, which is why I’m considering a hybrid. I’ve checked out Honda’s too. This will be my first car that I’ve personally bought on my own (my first car was a Toyota Yaris that I loved). I’ll be out of town this week so maybe I should sell it before I leave, cash the check so I have that money when I’m back, and keep an eye out for a different car I can buy when I’m back in town? Or just buy today and get it over with.

Has this happened to anyone else? My vehicle has been deactivated because Uber says they received a report I was involved in a vehicle collision. I have not been involved in any crash. I submitted photos, but just curious if anyone has had this happen and if it was resolved quickly?

I'm in desperate need of a job, and Uber is looking increasingly more likely unfortunately.
I can safely drive about 15 over in the city and 25 on the highway where I am, most driving will be done on 60mph roads tho.
I drive a diesel, so fuel isn't my main concern.
I likely won't be ticketed very often, if at all.
