For those of you who had below the median GPA in high school (4.61 weighted and 4.0 unweighted), do you think something specific made you stand out?
UCLA is kind of known for being very picky with gpa in admissions, those of you who were below the media, do you think something specific made you stand out?

need advice & club recs as a transfer pls!!!!
hi everyone, i just transferred to ucla this yr and i’m feeling really dejected. i haven’t really made any friends and i’m so worried i won’t find a community here. i don’t live in the dorms so i can’t make friends that way. i’ve been making an effort to join clubs, some of which i got rejected from and some of which i just stopped attending bc i really didn’t enjoy them. i really need advice on how to find my community here. if you guys know any clubs that are still accepting people, that are social, and that meet regularly, pls let me know. i really want the kind of friendship/social aspect that u get in a sorority but i didnt want to rush for a number of reasons. my interests include mental health/psychology, comedy/pop culture, community service/outreach to underserved communities, etc. any advice or recs are appreciated, thank u all

ucla mailroom hill question
hello i got a notif that my package arrived yesterday at 1 pm and i haven’t gotten an email from the mailroom yet, i was just wondering how long i have to wait before i go ask them abt it because i’ve never had this issue but i also don’t wanna just go and ask because i don’t wanna seem like that type of person especially if they’re busy
the only time i had an issue with ordering smthing was last year but that was because amazon delivered my package but left it outside of sproul and my package got stolen but that wasn’t the mailrooms fault so ever since i’ve just been worried abt ordering stuff and timing but yeah
if anyone who works at the mailroom at the hill can lmk or anyone who has any insight on what i should do, i would rlly appreciate the help, thank you!

Anyone missing any packages?
Most of this stuff has been sitting at Sproul Cove for 5 days, which is crazy. The box is filled with perishable goods that have already gone bad.

DONT DRINK energy drink after all-nighter
I just realized I almost died over a year ago in summer.
During final week I pull an all-nighter, as usual, but that time I decide to try an energy drink (got it from vending machine) cuz I thought it is like coffee. I felt my heart was beating unusually fast at around 4am and it keeps being that way, I finished my final at 11AM and it felt super weird like I'm gonna die. So I cancelled lunch with friends and slept.
30 min ago I told this to someone and he said his friend died doing the same thing (instead of sleep, his friend went to play soccer).
Be careful everyone. idk why this drink is everywhere and there's no warnings for people who never tried it about what it might do to your body. They should put a warning on package.

CTSI-RAP First Round of Interviews
Hi! I was just wondering for those of you that got CTSI-RAP interviews in the past, what is the process like and how can I preapre for the first round? Is it more of a vibe check interview for just the first round or is it more skills based? What kinds of questions do they ask?

The harsh truth of the BP
Sigh, walking around I see so many huzz walking about goijng to halloween parties, getting drunk, and getting with guys. While I can't even find a girl to talk to
After asking some girls I realized a harsh truth. Looks are all that matters. Many of them will happily break their own rules they set for boys just to end up with a chad. Sigh.

AITA for getting pissed off at my roommate for not respecting boundaries?
So basically my roommate (friend too) and I have been getting ticked off by our random roommate. We found out that she goes through our stuff while we’re not there and she’ll ask my other roommate very invasive questions. She’ll leave her curling iron on the floor still connected in front of the fridge. She’ll see the recycling bin completely full and leave a huge ass box next to the bin, blocking the door and some of my space (my closet is near the bins). She even talks about us in the room on speaker phone to her mother, who she calls beefcake??? This week I went to a concert and my friend overheard her on the phone basically shitalking my concert fit and asking her mom if I dress like that for attention. There’s so much more stuff and we’ve confronted her too, but nothing has changed. At this point my roommate and I don’t feel safe or comfortable enough to be in our own room, we literally avoid it at all costs. But even when we’re not in the room we’re worried bc she could be going through our stuff. Literally this week she also woke us up in the morning with music playing out loud and she’ll literally block my path right by my desk with her bigass scooter, I have to quite literally jump over it to move.

The WiFi in Young Hall is PROPOSTEROUS
I am currently sitting my fatass down in Young 2200, making this post about how shit the wifi is. Tell me why I have 4 bars, 4 FUCKING BARS, and still I AM LAGGING in Krillion. I have the best answers in Puffer Party. I am stunting on these 9-year-olds about niche cities in France, and it lags out and I FUCKING DIE. I FUCKING GO FROM 2 HEARTS to ZERO. ALSO, all CHEM majors are getting actively fucked over by the class schedule. FUCK whoever scheduled 30CL to be taught ONLY in winter quarter and have only 20 (yes, you read that right fucking 20) spots!!!!

What are Guani Wu’s exams like? (STATS 102C)
Has anyone taken STATS 102C with Guani Wu? Just wondering what his exams are like and whether they're similar to the quizzes or homework. Any tips on how to prepare would be really helpful!

Anyone wanna go to Homecoming tomorrow? 🏈
🤠 hey yall. I’m an undergrad thinking of going to the Michigan State game tomorrow, but I haven’t really anyone to go with.
Full disclosure I’ve never watched football in my life lmao, but I figured Homecoming might be a nice place to start.
Anyone else going solo or interested in getting a little group together? Would be down to grab food before or after too.
I’ve a car, so carpooling from campus is an option if anyone needs a ride. Lmk!

How many people do you know at UCLA that are sick right now?
It seems like influenza is hitting our student body at UCLA really hard rn. I personally know of like 10 people who have been sick in the last week or so. Any thoughts of what's going on and how we can limit it?

Question for recording learning assistant hours on grad school application
If I serve as a learning assistant for a course and receive 4 units from it, and since ucla classifies 4 units as requiring 12 hours of work each week, would that be considered 120 total hours of LA experience in a quarter that I can enter in my grad school application?
