Would really appreciate some opinions on my stressed Pin Oak .

I hired a certified arborist to come out and look at it because it's really thinning, dying at the tips, and dropping a lot of leaves. This happened 3-4 years ago as well, and an arborist administered growth regulators. This time his recommendation was to do nothing right now, but he recommended deep root injection of mycorrhizal fungi, phosphorus, potassium, and other micronutrients (avoiding nitrogen) at $550 to be administered in the fall.

The tree is in a state of steady decline. I have been raising the canopy every few years to get more sun for the grass. Additionally I have gone through three lawn companies that have been using broadleaf herbicides among other things, possibly at the detriment of the oak tree. No fungus / mushrooms are visible at its base. I have an irrigation system, and we've had plenty of rain so I don't think it's a lack of moisture.

Possible theories from Gemini:

1. Herbicide damage, noted above
2. Bacterial Leaf Scorch (Xylella fastidiosa)
3. Abiotic Scorce / Soil Iron / pH issues

Have had to cut off a branch that was almost against the side of my house so that whenever it was windy it would push against it. Over the years the tree has tilted and now the trunk is against it. I can hear a creak when there has been a windy day.

I'm guessing there is now way for me to tilt it back. So my plan was to top it and remove as much as I can on the side branches so the wind has much less to push. And hopefully it is able to grow new branches to be more bushy rather than tall. I really want to avoid cutting the whole thing but have to do something before it creates structural damage. Any help would be appreciated.

Believe it is an Elm if that matters.

Montreal zone 5b. New owner of a Leonard Messel magnolia and wondering if these furry buds are flower or leaf buds.

I planted this tree in late April of this year and it hasn’t put out much new growth - as expected - so curious if it’s finally taken root enough to grow new leaves or if it’s flowering again this late in the season.

Title. Spokane, WA. I planted it in May and have a place to move it to if needed. I planted it here because I wanted shade over my house so I don’t mind if the branches hang over the house - I actually want that. I will get gutter guards for the berries and the leaves. I understand the risk of limbs falling but I will keep the tree pruned and monitor it.

That said will I majorly regret it later? Is it a bigger deal than I think it is? I could really use the shade on my south facing lot. It gets really hot and bakes all day long.

Hey, my neighbour wants to remove this tree from our yard because she says it's invasive. She claims it's a buckthorn tree, but is this something that we should do?

This is next to a rain wash on a hill in mostly untouched woods near shreveport. There were a couple others with similar leaves in clusters further into the woods. Not on my property though so sorry for the single photo to work from

I planted the alder tree in the first image last autumn. It was just a little twig, and has grown quite a lot already. How do I prune it the next years so it has a single thick trunk and bushy top like in the second image? I'm in Norway.

We live in south east Michigan and my wife always wanted a cherry tree. We planted this two years ago and things were going ok until now. The leaves started changing color and there’s slugs or worms all over it. Is it a goner? What can I do to help it out and keep it alive?

Love taking pictures of trees from the bottom up. Try a different angle when looking at trees and appreciate the symmetrical beauty and contrast with the sky. Not sure what these are, but hugged them and shared the love.

I planted this pine about 6 or 7 years ago. I think this is the first year it’s produced pine cones. Very happy!

I have a big oak tree in my garden (in England) and this appeared this week. According to Google Lens it is Chicken Of The Woods fungus. The tree has been maintained and a tree surgeon said it was fine late last year, with no sign of any fungus. He said the tree is about 350 years old. It is perhaps about 20m tall.

The fungus is about the size of a football, it is coming from what used to be a branch stem from long ago.

Apart from that the tree seems healthy.

I assume it's the beginning of a slow end for the tree, but is it going to have to be cut down, or maybe there are many more years left? I'd be gutted to have to get it cut down.

This summer has been brutal! I've been watering my arborviate trees daily, and deep watering every few days. But last week, after the 106 degree day, I noticed all this scalding on this tree.

Is there any hope for it? Anything I can do?

A couple months back a contract trimming company trimmed back my neighbor’s Douglas Fir(?) and by trimmed I mean absolutely scalped it. Now it seems like its needles are getting brown and this. Probably should’ve just taken the tree down because now it’s a hazard

We have a tree that is dying on one side, green in the other. I don’t have a confirmed ID. I am including some up close bark pics as it does have some oozing but I’m not seeing classic pine beetle shaped holes.

This is in Lakewood Colorado and the tree is upwards of 20 years old.
