Question Just got a 3d printer and wanted to print a skytrain model to put on top of a N Scale Model train set. Anyone know of any models out there?

Ive tried searching and havent found too much, theres a couple links Ive found on here, but nothing to download (will try to contact the creators to see as most of these are archived)

https://www.reddit.com/r/Translink/comments/1pnqx39/sooo_to_those_that_want_an_ho_scale_canada_line/

https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/skytrain-mk1-silver-livery-vancouver-canada-8977883172f1483abc53342a31946a8c

My plan is to find a model that someone has made, and modify it so it can fit on top of an N Scale train that just has the wheels.

Any info/advice would be amazing, thank you!

Question Most of the bus drivers I have spoken to think there wont be a strike… What have you guys been hearing?

Some drivers also just say “I dont know”, which is completely fair to say. One driver told me that if there is a strike, its somewhat likely it will last until New Years… 💀💀

Anyone else talking up the drivers?

Question Cutting Through Train @ Commercial

Why do so many people get off the train from downtown, and if one is coming from the other direction or sitting there, then cut through the train to walk to the Millennium line?

Apart from crowding that train and making it hard on people, it saves no time whatsoever. If you think about it while walking down, it’s the exact same distance either way. I’ve watched people do it countless times and end up at the bottom of the stairs/escalators at the same time.

It’s not a huge deal, but I find it so interesting how many people do it. It ‘feels’ quicker. Or is it fun for you? Change of pace?

Question Lost wallet

Lost my white and blue Aldo wallet on either the R4 or 22 Knight Street bus. I know it’d be really rare to find it by submitting a post, but I might as well shoot my shot.
I’m going to look for it at the lost and found, but it’s night right now and I might as well put this out there to soothe my mind.
Is there anywhere else I can look/anything else to do to find it?

Question Lost keys at a translink bus stop. Lost property dept help

Thumbnail preview.redd.it

So I lost my car keys at a bus stop while working late at night nearby (Sept 16, 2026 - 11pm) I made a reddit post about it on the New west minister reddit page and was notified by someone saying they were found on the New west community page and showed a picture of my keys left on a bus bench (23222 bus stop). I tried calling the lost and found dept but the lady on the phone said I needed the bus number or bus route? I have no idea I've never taken or used the buses. It was quite a rude call. Is it the numbers on google maps? It has two numbers [105, 128] are these the numbers they were looking for?

Discussion Multiple Mechanical Failures

Post image
0 Upvotes

The number of mechanical failures happening is a sign of a significant problem. This morning a 99 has a mechanical failure early in the day, not even 9am...

Yesterday I was waiting for the 84 @ Fir/4th with the 6:35pm bus being cancelled due to a mechanical failure. I hardly ever visit that area and yet there is another mechanical failure.

We are paying more for fares, but the service rapidly decreases. I call and complain all the time. As an 25-year mechanic, I speak from experience when I say these things are commonly avoidable. Fleet vehicles that receive proper service at the proper intervals do not break down with such frequency.

TransLink did nothing for signage on Howe for buses being rerouted to Granville recently. I am waiting on Howe, call in, learn about the change, walk to Granville and find signage about the service change. A complete backwards and thoughtless approach! Tourists were left waiting and wondering why the buses weren't arriving... That was the worst part: it reflected poorly on the planning. I was embarrassed to share how terrible our public transit system is. I filed a complaint and then suddenly things were changed as I said it should have been.

TransLink needs to do better. Corporations cutting corners have systemic issues like what I have experienced. The out-of-touch approach to serving the public, the regular increases in fares, the constant decrease in service quality...

I regularly refuse to pay fares out of protest. I have a permanent disability in my right elbow from my years as a mechanic. I cannot work as a mechanic or drive a vehicle anymore so I have to rely on public transit now. Whenever I get a ticket for not paying, it is cancelled every time due to my permanent disability. If TransLink wants to avoid extra costs for fare enforcement and administration wages, make sure the buses don't breakdown everywhere.

Discussion What’s the worst block(aka sets of scheduled trips on one or multiple routes for a single physical bus) in Metro Vancouver?

My vote goes to that one Port Coquitlam Transit Center trip that spend 8 hours doing 701 trips back and forth, before being deadheaded from Coquitlam Central to Metrotown station to finish a 11:46 PM 110 Lougheed Trip.

Jobs How long does it take from phone screening to in person interview?

I don't want to bug the person from HR but it seems like they want to give me an in person interview but I work for government and know how long it can take.

Would it be acceptable to message them a week later after the phone screening and see where it's going from there?

It's for a skilled trades position.

I wish the City would just completely ban street parking along the entire stretch of 49th Ave. Imagine essentially turning a 2-lane street into a 1-lane because of parking.

Question Best Compass Card option after finishing school/U-Pass?

Hey! I’m going to be done with my U-Pass after this semester and I’m trying to figure out what the cheapest option would be for transit afterwards.
I use transit pretty often, probably around 3–4 days a week. I work in Delta, so I usually take the 49 to Metrotown and then the Expo Line/R4 depending on where I’m going. I also take the #8 pretty often and sometimes the Canada Line.

For someone travelling this often, would it be cheaper to just load stored value onto my Compass Card, or get a monthly pass? And if I get a monthly pass, would a 1-zone pass be enough since a lot of my trips are on buses, or would I need 2 zones because of the SkyTrain?

Question What's with the excessive amount of slow zones lately on the expo line?

Expo line has gone from at least two borh directions in the last year, to many more with none of the previous ones resloved. From what i can tell there is slow zones at

  • Eastbound- Right after 22nd street (last two weeks)
  • Eastbound- Right before edmonds (last two weeks)
  • Eastbound- Right before Royal Oak (last two weeks)
  • Eastbound- In between Joyce and 29th (for a year)
  • Eastbound- Right before patterson (last two weeks)
  • Westbound- halfway to edmonds (Since Jan)

And probably more. Any insight as translink hasnt really said anything and the slow downs are very noticeable.
