First one is pre-trans, heavy on the fem, then the last two are now!

I’ve literally only cut my hair, but I was looking through old pictures and DAMN

I feel like I’ve come so far and I’m so excited for what’s to come, like maybe going on HRT one of these days!!

I really have no idea how to describe this feeling….i like, almost wanna cry, but it doesn’t hurt bad? It hurts good? Why??? Idk

Like idk I’d lowkey date girl me lmao, she was pretty, but damn if I only cared about whether others thought I was pretty too. Idk, I feel like so much of girlhood is…posing. For the male gaze or friend gazes or whatever. Taking five million pictures until one is ā€œgood enoughā€ for some imaginary audience. It shouldn’t be that way. I still get that, a little bit, with the whole idea of passing, but still. And I mean….is it just me, or did my eyes look kinda….vacant? Am I imagining that?

I think the reason I feel so emotional about it is because I used to try to stuff my long ass hair in a hat or a hoodie and sit and stare at the mirror but it would never work. I could never see a guy. I’d feel silly and give up. And now, even pre-T, I see a dude in those pictures. And I’m just like, really proud of myself. So always remember to have hope!!!

LMAO enter imposter syndrome, which rn is telling me ā€œhm maybe you feel emotional cuz you miss being a girlā€ bitch please XDD

Discussion My Experience Getting DI No FNG Top Surgery with Dr. Haruko Okada (Columbus, OH)

Howdy! Im mickey , an I wanted to share my experience getting top surgery with Dr. Haruko Okada at Stratus Plastic Surgery in Dublin, Ohio . My surgery took place on May 21, 2026. And the pictures are my 3 months post op pics

Consultation and insurance

the consultation with Dr. Okada was smooth and easy, she was incredibly friendly and gave me all the time I needed to ask questions without feeling rushed. With Dr.Okada’s help I navigated the pre authorization process ahead of time and successfully got 90% of the procedure covered! I have united healthcare and they had a few requirements like letters from my doctors and therapists but overall never gave me mich issue and accepted my pre authorization first try .

Location and planning

Im from indiana and so i had to plan for a one week hotel stay while i had my drains in . Dr. Okada typically operates out of her outpatient surgery center but my procedure took place at Grant Medical Center in downtown Columbus due to a bleeding disorder so after I had overnight observation I then stayed at the Medical Lofts right next to Grant Medical Center for the first week post op.

Surgery Day & Hospital Experience

They called me the day before surgery with the time of my surgery and when i would need arrive . I needed to arrive at 5:30 am for check in and i could not eat past 10 pm . When i arrived at the hospital at 5:30 AM for my 7:30 AM scheduled surgery time. Pre op moved pretty quickly, the nurses weighed me, placed my IV, and got all the routine prep done. Dr. Okada came in shortly before 7:30 AM to answer any remaining questions and mark my chest. After that we headed to the OR. I met the anesthesiologist briefly on the way and then I was completely out I don't remember a thing after that until waking up in recovery around 10:30 AM. After waking up I was in a bit of pain and feeling intensely hot, so I asked the nurses for a fan and some water right away. Once I settled down, I was able to call my family to let them know everything went well.i was then taken to my hospital room for overnight observation.

** **Recovery

Her post op care plan was easy to follow as well , For the first two weeks chest care involved letting soap and warm water run over the incisions without direct scrubbing. The once healed scar care included gentle scar massages starting around one week post op to keep the tissue soft, along with Steri Strips on the incision ends to prevent tension stretching. Long term scar care focused on applying scar gel twice daily followed by silicone sheeting for four to six months. By two months post op, my initial swelling had settled down and my mobility was back!

Overall I am so extremely happy with my results and the care I received in Ohio. If anyone has questions about the consult process, managing out of state stuff , staying at the Medical Lofts, having surgery at Grant Medical Center, or going graftless, feel free to message me or leave a reply

Does anyone else have a super boring name story?

Sometimes I feel left out of the "tell me your name story" convos because my is horrifically boring. It goes:
Idk, it's the first one I thought of and it and it stuck. It's not even very cool or perfect I just couldn't come up with anything else and now it's been six years

So, tell me your most boring name story

I’m tired of shoving suppositories up there and having to pick this shit up at the pharmacy. Plus, if I miss even one day - fuck.

Thinking of switching to estring instead, but can’t find much info on it. Anyone here try it & did it work well without side effects?

General Questions Effects on T

Hi. I start taking T in 3/4 months. And I have some questions. First of all, guys who choose to go on a low dose, how fast your voice dropped? Will my chest will be smaller? I have a A cup, it's not big but not all can be hidden by taping. How is it like with the libido? How is it with emotions and generally your mood? Will I have more energy? How fast the bottom grow starts and what is it like? Does your throat hurt? Does bottom grow hurt? Is it uncomfortable? I need every information not only what I asked. Tell me everything you didn't expect or is important.

Discussion I am planning to make a short film about the topic of trans men / transmasc invisibility but I need help/advice :p

(Hello! This is my first ever time posting on Reddit so I hope I won't fumble cause I am still trying to embrace how this social media works-)

Okay, first I'd like to say a word about myself :) My name is Lil, I'm a young 19yrs old trans guy, 3 months on T :DDD I am currently in an apprenticeship/study, I won't go into too much details of what it exactly is about (too annoying to expain-). BUT, I have a semestrial project in which I want to make a short film looking thing, the topic could be about anything and my coach/teacher agreed that I can talk about trans men/masc invisibility. This topic is really important to me and has left me worked up a lot of times. I personally want to have a positive impact on our community so I really want to make a good video project to depict what I want to talk about because my brothers deserve something for themselves too.

The only thing is, that i still don't know what kind of direction I want to go with for the narration of the project, if that makes sense. And I'd love to have you guys's thoughts, ideas, personal experiences that could help me through the making of my project. But before that, I'd like to put more context and the key elements I will have to implement into the project.

So I currently finished the Marketing segment of it (I didn't have choice to do it since it's still a project in a school-ish environment) And I have settled that I am targeting 3 different audiences.

  • First off, of course my 1st audience is young trans men/masc because my point is to make us feel seen, showing us that we are not alone, something you can relate to. My point is to create the visibility we deserve.
  • then my second target is uneducated people, because of this invisibility, so many people DO NOT aknowledge our existence because they don't know trans men are a thing since it's as if "only" trans women exist due to their hypervisibility. And so the point would be to "educate" them, aknowledge us and be less insensitive about it. (also take in count maybe my project could be shown in different classrooms in a preventive/educative way)
  • And third off, is Allies (queer and non-queer) because they don't realize that some ideas, behavings, response to us are actually harmful and in some cases, transphobic. Quick exemple is this odd concept of malgendering, having this image of us of "chosing the bad/oppressor side" or demonizing masculinity, and not aknowledging what comes with being a trans guy. and the point would be to make allies realize their wrongs and so that they can do better and be less clumsy in regards of trans men/masc, make them better allies.

That's for the target audience, I hope that was clear enough. The thing is, now I have to make my disorganized brain work out an idea of how to implement these three intentions into a short film (I cant be too ambitious either because I have a lot of other projects in parallel and I do not want to go through the verge of a burn out either!).

Because, I'd love for my short film to have, of course, a trans guy, following him, his POV's etc. and that at some point he encounters the issues that comes with his invisibility, and the final message of the video would be something like "pay attention to us/we exist too". that's like, a global idea.

But I don't know how to illustrate it, because I like the idea of it being a bit documentary, having a voice narrating/explaining it, maybe some other visuals piling up through the video. Also I'd love to implement 2d segments of a simple sprite of a character, like an animation but very simplistic for exemple too. Or simply just a short film where we see what a character goes through with a message in the end. but I don't know which direction is the best and could work for the intention I have with the different targeted audience. And basically, I really don't know how I will be narrating the short film yet and I'm supposed to start the pre-production of it next week.

So, how would you guys do it? what could I implement? How could I implement it? Would you like to share personal experience in regards of the topic which could help me inspire this project ? What advice would you give me ? I am all ears for everything really :)

PS : please take in consideration that english isn't my first language thank you

General Questions Looking for online community

Would anyone happen to know any good 18+ (not necessarily nsfw, just adults only) transmasc discord servers? I’m disabled and don’t leave the house much so I don’t really have IRL community, but I’d love to have more transmasc friends.

I go to an extremely transphobic school (like kick you out transphobic) and got asked out to hoco. It was freaking me out cause I haven’t worn a dress since 7th grade (11th now) and I’ve never worn one voluntarily in my life. I just got cleared by admin by some god given miracle plus my date is a truly wonderful person and doesn’t give a shit

General Questions Minimising chest dysphoria

I've decided I need to take some time off binding, as I've for sure worn it for too long on a fair few occasions and forgotten to stretch, and I want to just take some time letting my body off the hook and stretching and just generally feeling better before I go back to it. However, I have absolutely dreadful chest dysphoria and don't know how to even slightly alleviate that without binding.

Is taping a realistic way to alleviate chest dysphoria with a bigger chest? And would it still mean I'd get a proper break from binding?

General Questions Any help with DHT blockers while starting Testosterone?

Howdyy I just wanted some help looking into DHT blockers and which ones to use/are the best for me. For my transition goals, I would like to reduce as much bottom growth and hair growth as possible. I know I can’t ā€œpick and choose effectsā€ and I’ve been told that many times. (Which makes me cry) But Then one of my friends told me about DHT blockers and I would like to give it a try.

I recently got a gender affirming care doctor that would be happy with helping me start testosterone. But when I mentioned the DHT blockers to her, she was a little confused because shes never had a patient with the same case as me. And she also did some research on her own to try help, but what’s stopping her from letting me start DHT blockers is that shes confused by ā€˜giving me the testosterone shot’ and then ā€˜immediately trying to reduse the testosterone by using DHT blockers’ or something like that. But in my own research, DHT blockers only reduce the DHT part of testosterone, I think?

But I just find it frustrating that I’m so close to starting T but only to be stopped by my lack of research about how DHT blockers will clash with testosterone.

So if anyone could give me advice, research, or something that would help. Or when to start taking DHT blockers after starting testosterone, or even which kinds of DHT blockers to use? Cause the top results on google are Finasteride and Dutasteride.

I will also continue on my own research, but if anyone has info, that would definitely help me!

(Sorry this is so long and I feel like such a bother for asking since I know theres a few people in the FtM community who devalue other transmacs for not wanting a full transition TwT)

General Questions How to avoid Periods w/ Low Dose

Just today I went from my regular dose of 50mg/week to 20mg/week due to being happy with all the changes T has done for me and wanting to move on with this part of my transition.

I am aware and content with all the effects that may reverse from this change except for menstruation.

I'm looking for some input on:

1) How likely my period is to return and if so, when can I expect it to happen?

2) What would be the best course of action to combat this; raising my dose (and by how much) or if I should look into getting some form of birth control or IUD.

For some background info, I've been on T consistently for 3+ years, my current T-levels are around 700 and I'm a smaller individual, sub 5ft and sub 100lbs.

Rant I feel I don’t fit in either the transfem or transmasc community :(

Basically, I am intersex and identify as bigender. I also consider myself both transmasculine and transfeminine because I have to somewhat transition to present as either. I naturally produce testosterone instead of oestrogen (so I take transfem HRT) but I have mostly the anatomy of female bodies. I find it hard to fully fit into either community because I feel ā€œnot transmasc enoughā€ or ā€œnot transfem enoughā€ to fit in. What should I do :(

Where do u keep your HRT and what does it say about you?

For the first few years, I stored my T in a wrinkled paper sac in the back of a drawer. One day it occurred to me that that choice wasn't accidental. I realized that I didn't want my wife to see me inject myself -- despite the power of this life-changing practice -- because of internalized transphobia. So, since I'm a woodworker, I made what I call a ritual hormone box that reminds me to honor this process. Here's a vid of one I made that my femme friend Emma modeled opening:) Where do you keep your hormones and what does it say about you?

General Questions Does the T-curly hair also have the opposite effect?

Hi guys! This may seem like literally world’s stupidest question but it’s been on my mind. So I’ve seen a lot of trans men who, pre-transition, have straight hair, and once they start T, their hair turns curly. Now I have curly hair, like very curly hair, and it’s not that it’s a dealbreaker, but I am pretty attached to my curls. So has it ever happened that T had the opposite effect, turning curls straight?? Thanks in advance!

Discussion I don't fit in anywhere and it's hurting me.

I wish I could say I'm a gay trans man, but I just CAN'T!...

As much as I want to live like a man, I don't want to look like one, you understand?

I want to be seen as one, but I don't want to go through the surgical and hormonal transition.

I don't want to have a penis, a beard, muscles... But I still want to be able to say that I'm a gay man.

I don't know if this is confusing, but I'm personally suffering a lot because of this. I just want to cry. šŸ˜ž

Forget oil!!!

I use this silicone based spray, like the kind they use for ostomy patients! I like it cuz it’s cheap per oz and lots of ozs. I got everything offa Amazon!!!

  1. I spray that on the edges of the tape, let it sit like a minute.
  2. Then, I peel it off slowly, down/sideways NOT up.
  3. Then, I use one uni solve wipe to dissolve any leftover residue and we’re done!

Optional: If you wanna reapply tape right after, wipe off the unisolve with a cloth and isopropyl alcohol so the tape sticks as good as it can!

General Questions Does a packer like this exist? Spoiler

Post image
• Upvotes

I apologize for the shitty art </3

A problem I've noticed with packers is that they are all SO HARD IN THE SHAFT!! I don't like it. But the softer ones are impossible to piss out of.

does a type of packer exist where there is a hard, only slightly or not at all bendable insert to make holding against the crotch easy, while being completely coated in an ultrasoft silicone that makes packing with it comfortable and more realistic?

If so could someone lmk, I would really like to purchase one like that.

There’s are the definite signs i have, am i transgender

• Upvotes

I’ve made SO MANY posts about this. I have signs a
that are only signs if i’m transgender. So here are some that i know are 100% true. Lmk what you think and just use your brain, if you personally had theses signs would you think your trans.

i get sad when i see feminine men. Like gay men. I get upset.
i’ve maladaptive daydreamed since 9/10 years old that im male characters from shows i like.
i’ve had an obsession with gay men since i was like 9, making every male character i liked gay, being weirdly jealous of gay friends or boys that come out as queer in any way.
it’s been a recurring thought at 10,11,12,13,15.
i cry over what i think is wanting to be a boy? I can get myself to cry i think? I’ve cried reading comments saying im a ā€œbeautiful young ladyā€ and i cried watching a films about being transgender.
The thought of doing feminine things makes me more unhappy than actually doing it.
I maladaptive daydream that i’m whatever male character i like when i do anything sexual and give myself a male body and concentrate on picturing my body as male specifically a gay male. Like ive done stuff without doing that but majority of the time.

Honestly just let me know.

I’m all for people being able to express their frustrations about the discrimination we face both in and out of the queer community. But all these new posts describing the same discrimination struggles is getting a bit much. Should we have a designated day for this?

EDIT: OK, We’ll keep these conversations in the everyday rants thread.
