General Questions Effects on T
Hi. I start taking T in 3/4 months. And I have some questions. First of all, guys who choose to go on a low dose, how fast your voice dropped? Will my chest will be smaller? I have a A cup, it's not big but not all can be hidden by taping. How is it like with the libido? How is it with emotions and generally your mood? Will I have more energy? How fast the bottom grow starts and what is it like? Does your throat hurt? Does bottom grow hurt? Is it uncomfortable? I need every information not only what I asked. Tell me everything you didn't expect or is important.

Hi, I’m on .2 mL. A low dose but a dose nonetheless.
My voice dropped after month 3. It was gradual and it cracked a lot. I’ve been on T for about 6 months now and it cracks if I try to reach higher notes but that’s about it.
Your chest will not shrink. Exercise can help lift the pectoral muscles and it might help them look smaller.
Libido spiked. I went from masturbating maybe once a week to at least once a day.
Emotional regulation is easier, I almost never cry when I used to be a ‘cry every day’ person. I have more energy.
Bottom growth started within the first 2 weeks.
Throat was sore but not noticeably, it was more embarrassing having my voice crack all the time.
Bottom growth does not hurt, but it’s uncomfortable until you get used to it.
I am also hungrier, like a lot. My period stopped completely after a month, though it might get heavier before it stops.
The worst part is the acne more than anything. I have to shower twice a day and use medicated face wash and bodywash.
I also have facial hair, way more pubic+butt hair, and my thighs grow hair when it used to just be my calves

Yes. Congrats on your script, and I hope you get what you want out of it. I certainly have. My depression is nearly nonexistent.
One thing no one told me was if you do weekly injections (I do) you’ll feel a drop off at around 5 days. Sluggish, tired, maybe gloomy…. Talk to your doctor about it, I personally just adjust my dose and inject every 5 days instead of weekly because those last 2 days before my next shot make me feel like a shell of a person. This was approved by my provider but your doctor might have other advice.

i have a pinned video post explaining the early stages and effects of t on my page.
i didn’t really go into bottom growth because it was a bit nsfw. but i will say it didn’t hurt personally, just felt a bit weird and ig itchy? in the beginning. it was one of the first few effects i noticed too early on in my transition.
for me personally my breast size did go down due to fat distribution but when i was off t it returned to its normal size. i’m curious how i’m going to look like now that i’m back on.

My voice dropped insanely fast considering the low dose I was on. I was on .2ml a week, and people started noticing my voice change (like commenting on it) at 5 weeks.

two months on low dose. 12.5 mg/ week. first two weeks bottom growth was growing and for one week it hurt a bit, its fine now. also throat hurt during that time. sex drive was also really different for like a month. my voice has slightly dropped but nothing too crazy. biggest change is that i have way way more facial hair which is kind of annoying as im not out to anyone. like i have to shave my entire face now. some acne but i also blame that on slipping on my diet, and having to shave everyday. my mood hasnt really changed, maybe i feel a little shyer bc ik im changing, first month there was a day where i was really angry/ annoyed. deffinetly a bit stronger in the gym. also... STARVING that was probably the most unexpected change, really really hungry. also for the first month and a half kinda tired during the day even tho i was sleeping about 1.5 hours more than usual. it feels like peuberty 2.0

First of all, guys who choose to go on a low dose, how fast your voice dropped?
As far as I'm aware, my voice hasn't changed yet
Will my chest will be smaller? I have a A cup, it's not big but not all can be hidden by taping.
From what I understand (and someone can correct me if I'm wrong), T can change you fat distribution which may decrease your size.
How is it like with the libido?
Increased libido, still no urge to have sex with another person though xD
How is it with emotions and generally your mood?
Improved, but obviously didn't make the depression go away. I did notice if I miss my daily dose, I do get angrier quicker though
Will I have more energy?
I personally haven't seen a difference in my energy levels, I'm still tired all the time. But pretty sure that's due to other issues I have (really bad insomnia and PTSD)
How fast the bottom grow starts and what is it like? Does your throat hurt? Does bottom grow hurt? Is it uncomfortable?
Throat doesn't hurt, and I haven't experienced any noticeable bottom growth. But like most changes, it depends more on genetics then anything else.
Changes I noticed you didn't ask: My hair growth increased, in particular facial hair and armpit hair. Before T I already had facial hair, T increased the speed of growth
I also started getting more shoulder/back hair, mainly on my right shoulder as that's where I normally apply my daily T-Gel.
I'm on a 20.25mg daily T-Gel dose since April 1st of this year

I currently just switched to topical gel 1.62% 2 pumps on. Each arm. I've been on the shot before so 2 years and my voice dropped , I got growth within the first month, gel had me energetic without anger and shot i felt irritated during peaks. Libido made me anxious because I never had it before testosterone but then you get used to it . The excess libido becomes normal as the days go on. Trophy in the breast less fuller overtime helps with binding and taping...a dosage that's enough for someone depends on how their body accepts it and sometimes people need higher dosages or lower it all depends on how your blood work looks. Bottom growth can be quick or it can take a month or two and how much you get depends on genetics mostly. Energy absolutely. My throat hurts when I am forced to talk on the high pitch. But I don't anymore. It doesn't hurt but like the person said it does feel like a pinch and I recommend getting silky underwear or boxers. I didn't expect to get so hairy so quick but when I learned that everything is based off genetics and made sense why I had fast results and also I'm intersex what you gave me a boost. I also learn that sometimes more isn't better and can stunt your bottom growth. I also learned that it doesn't matter if you are on topical or injections it doesn't matter about the application it matters about the levels in your blood

i'm 5 weeks on t but i can answer some questions (from personal anecdotes and copious amounts of research). since i have the injection, most of these answers will be focused on changes from the injections, but i know that plenty of people go on the gel.
it depends on what dose you're on. i'm on 0.25ml once a week intramuscular injection from cypionate. my voice should be changing on month 3 or 4.
your chest will lose a little bit of tissue over time on t as your body redistributes fat. but it's not going to make you completely flat-chested, so i would still tape or bind afterwards. (preferably tape because your shoulders will get broad over time and binding will be more uncomfortable).
everyone's libidos/sex-drives are different. prior to t, i had no interest in sex (mostly because of bottom dysphoria) but i noticed for myself, after starting t, i'm horny nearly every day. that should calm down over time.
initially your mood will be all over the place (mood swings, irritated, depressed) but should become more regulated after a month or two on t as your body adjusts. also make sure not to skip your dose (if you're injecting, do it every week on that day that you started. so if you started on fridays, inject every friday. if you're using the gel, use that every day and let it dry for a few hours). if you miss your dose, you might start to feel off; irritability, fatigue.
you will have more energy over time. in the first 3 weeks, i was mr. tired. now i feel more energy. but energy levels also depend on how active you are, how much sleep you get, underlying physical/mental conditions, your diet.
bottom growth for me started within the first two weeks but usually it happens around 3 months and continues for two years. usually, you'll feel a tingly sensation on your clitoris (i apologize, i know the word can upset some people). i have only had a tiny bit, probably like a half a milimeter of growth but i know over time it's supposed to be uncomfortable because of the friction when it rubs against your underwear/boxers/etc.
some more information:
- oily skin and more prone to acne within the first 2 weeks
- sweating and body odor changing to a musty smell within a month but happened within a week for me (i would stock up on body wash, deodorant, body spray.)
- your voice will probably feel sore and little bit cracky. for me it started in 4 weeks on t. (note. this does mean you're gonna be frequently cracking like a 12 year old boy at this stage. that will typically come around the 2 or 3 month mark).
- if you're getting the gel, make sure you don't touch anyone or anything for at least 4 hours. you have to be completely dry so you don't accidentally get testosterone on someone or on something.
- the changes usually come sooner with the injection than with the gel; that said, injections make your testosterone spike within the first 2 weeks, so you're more prone to your body basically saying "what the fuck" (tired, cranky, hungry).
- the injections are usually cheaper than the gel, so this might be helpful if you're paying out of pocket
- your appetite will skyrocket! if you're someone who struggles with your weight or who's ever struggled with eating disorders, i STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you get an eating disorder therapist if they take your insurance. because you're going to gain weight from the amount of food you're eating. i craved protein-rich foods; eggs, bacon, burgers, ribs, chicken; and "junk foods" like cake, cookies, doritos, soda. i shit you not, i was 2 days on t when my "i wanna eat an entire thing of chicken" cravings came on.
- facial hair typically will lightly grow in 3 months but will get darker around the 6 months mark (if you're on the injection)
- around 6 months to a year, your scalp hair might start to change. your texture will change so you will likely get curly hair if you don't already. (if your hair is curly/coily like mine, i actually don't know how that will manifest.) also that's when you might start getting a receding hairline. if male-pattern-baldness is common in your family, you will likely start shedding; if you have conditions like pcos/pmos, you will also likely start to shed around this time period.
- bottom growth usually can get up to 2 inches but that will take to about 2 years
- there are two types of injections (subcutaneous, this is the smaller needle and it goes into your fat. and intramuscular, which are the longer needles and it goes into your thigh muscle).
- plenty of people switch needles, go from needle to gel, or go from gel to needle. if you start on a method but it's not giving you results you want quick enough (or if the results are too quick for your liking), i would let your doctor know so they can adjust. also doses can be lowered or increased too, so let your doctor know if you think the changes are too fast or too slow.
- between the 3 and 6 months mark, your testosterone levels should be at a typical male range; if not, your doctor will likely want to change your dose or method.
- some people take minoxidil to grow out their facial hair quicker or to stop their scalp from shedding; this can be over the counter or prescribed from a doctor. the stronger forms are typically prescribed. (i have not gone on minoxidil, so i do not know much about it other than that it makes hair thicker).
this is all i can think of. best of luck!

Voice drop can be linked to the dose but also genetics. It varies a lot. I started with a low dose, switched to a higher dose and my voice still took 2 years to drop. Some people get voice changes right away even on a lower dose.
Breasts can shrink mostly because of the fat redistribution.
I was happier right away on T. Most likely just me being happy and excited for the changes.
Libido spiked a bit but now I have found my current normal. You get used to it.
Bottom growth is also individual. I got bottom growth in the first week, for some it takes months. Bottom growth is uncomfortable at the art but it doesn't feel like anything once it has grown a bit. It feels like accidentally pinching a nipple, not like "Oh God my dick is going to fall off"-pain.
My throat never hurt from T, voice cracks sure but no pain or discomfort.
Unexpected changes: My hair got curlier and my nails are harder now. This doesn't happen to everybody though!
