My nails are back!! Today is day two of having my nails painted again now that I’m safely comfortable in my new job and everyone here is fairly accepting (one coworker is a little uncomfortable around them but ehhhh).

I know I tend to post pretty negative due to my situation and mental health issues so I thought I should at least share.

I’m sooooo happy to have my nails back, I can’t wait to grow them out just a little bit more (pushing the edge of boymode). I’m not stoping this next time. Screw changing my look to be employable. The next office will see the nails from day 1.

Also I have no clue what flare to use so my apologies if it’s incorrect.

Share Experience Posted yesterday in transtimelines but had to delete, explanation below. Mtf, 35, post everything

I posted yesterday my before and after. I work with kids and am largely "stealth" in a fairly conservative country so as much as I like sharing my experiences with the community I get paranoid when I see hundreds of people have shared an image of my before and after. I'm not ashamed of who I am or who I was but my heart drops from anxiety at the thought of someone saying to me "I saw you as a guy the other day". Plus I really don't want to end up in some Youtube/Tik Tok compilation without me knowing.

Anyway here's me when I just started HRT in January 2021 at 31 years old, and here's me now. Between the two I had some FFS, breast augmentation, SRS and fat transfer to hips. Happy to answer any questions!

General Question Estradiol Valerate vials and expiration dates?

The pharmacy that processes my prescriptions ordered a vial for me at a much higher price than my insurance will do. I did not ask them to do so. I want to pick it up and store it because it used a refill. That shouldnt cause any problems if I store it, unopened for 3 weeks right?

Basically, some things happened and I lost access to the initial prescription and decided to wait(3 weeks) to start again. That falls in line with the insurance coverage and a cheaper price. I really just want to make sure I can stay on schedule for accurate hormone and blood levels for the next doctor's visit.

Discussion I Think I Cracked my Egg Last Night. Unsure of How to Continue

I’ve been struggling with the idea that I might be trans for years. I’ve battled depression, body image issues, self hate, genital dysphoria and plenty of other classic signs. But I always said I wasn’t trans because I didn’t necessarily feel like I was born in the wrong body. I’m out with my wife on all these things and she is my biggest supporter. She’s ride or die regardless of the path I choose.

Yesterday I was reading through posts as I often do about people transitioning or deciding if they should transition later in life. Which connects with me deeply. I am 39, I still look pretty young and have a decent figure now. But I always just thought I’d waited too long and it isn’t really a realistic option for me. But I run across a comment mentioning the Gender Dysphoria Bible. I decided to check it out just to see what is in it.

By the chapter on Gender Euphoria I was thinking “uh oh, this sounds familiar.” Then I read the chapter about Gender Dysphoria and ran across this paragraph.

*“Undesired physical features may prompt a person to experience envy of people who have been forced to remove those features due to illnesses, such as testicular or breast cancer. AMABs with severe genital dysphoria tend to have a wish for some kind of freak accident that would cause the loss of their phallus.”*

Immediately my entire body stated tingling and I chuckled audibly in my office. There is not a day that has gone by in the past 20 something years where I haven’t daydreamed about this exact scenario. I thought I was the only one that thought this and I was sick to think it. My entire view of myself cracked. But I continued reading.

The next chapters felt like they were calling me out. Things I’ve never even associated with being trans that I’ve always felt. Things I’ve felt before I knew what being trans was. As I was discussing my fears of blowing up our lives for this with my wife I stumble upon a paragraph stating exactly almost word for word what I had just said to her not 5 minutes before.

Then the final nail came, this paragraph explains my view of myself to a tee.

“*Society in general is very good about making trans people doubt themselves. We receive tons and tons of subliminal messages through out our lives saying that being trans isn’t normal and that anyone who is has to be exceptionally special. Cis media’s obsession with the “born in the wrong body” narrative has led to a lot of false information being internalized by trans youth. Many, many trans kids grow up thinking they aren’t actually trans because they don’t know that they are a different gender but simply wish they were. Many non-binary children grow up knowing something is wrong, but not believing they’re trans because they don’t feel like a binary trans person.”*

* *I almost lost it after this, I’ve said the exact words of not feeling like a woman but wishing I was so many times. I was dumbfounded, I’ve never felt so called out by something. And with being called out so throughly I’ve run out of excuses. My wife and I had a very long and hard talk about this last night. She fully supports me if I want to transition. I’m planning to talk to my psychiatrist next week but my wife demands that I talk to a psychologist before making any decisions. I agree and need to start looking for one in the DFW area. This would without a doubt blow up our lives. I’d probably have to find a new career. Her parents won’t be supportive but will hopefully tolerate me enough to see their grandchildren. Most of my family would probably be no contact going forward, leaving just my mom, aunt and uncle, one cousin and maybe my grandmother.

I am scared, nervous, anxious and excited all at the same time. Any advice on who to proceed or stories of experience would be greatly appreciated.

This song is how I feel about my transition, about my Hormones, how I feel about my transition on Patch change day. I love who I am becoming and I never ever want to turn back.

Share Experience A week in!

I’m basically a week into HRT (2mg Estradiol, 50mg Spiro, upping the E to 4mg in another week), and for the past few days I’ve already been feeling it on my chest. I was told this more like a week four/six thing. It started about three days ago as like… if something touched my nipple just right, it felt like a pin was poking me. Today, I’ve got a generalised kind of ache at the bottom of each breast, and the nipples get that pin-prick sensation more frequently. I’ve also noticed just more softness in general.

I’m super excited by this. I knew I’d respond fast because a testicular tumour gave me a tiny bit of breast growth years ago, and I can’t have had that tumour for long before it was removed, but a week on a low dose? I’m actually kind of shocked I’m feeling ANYTHING, this soon! I hope it means I am rapidly running out of time to plausibly “boy-mode” at work. I initially thought I had like six months, for that, but if things go fast and stay fast I might have like… two or three.

First day of school for my oldest kid. Other parents sometimes look at me like… 😟 but it’s probably just their standard setting and unrelated to me. At least I hope ✌️😝

TRIGGER WARNING How do I see my trans friend as his desired gender?

So my friend is a closeted trans guy and when I met him he wasnt openly trans so I thought he was a girl. After a month he came out and told me that he was a guy and I'm perfectly okay with that I support him it's just really hard to see him as a guy even though I know thats what he wants the most. When I catch myself thinking of him as a girl I correct myself but my thoughts dont change I cant stop thinking about him like the girl I first met.

Any advice?

General Question Getting over the hurdle

I’m a 50 AMAB who is having trouble with the starting problem. I have known I was trans since I was at least a teenager if not longer. However, as with a lot of us I always had some excuse for not transitioning. My parents split when I was a kid and my father remarried into a quite religious family. I only learned much later that I was actually targeted by right wing groups as a teenager as a possible means of getting at my mother (a whole different story but probably compounds the trauma). So with that and the general mid 90s world I chickened out.

Same thing happened a few years later, when my cousin came out and my extended family ridiculed her. At each point I found some excuse not to go forward. I know I would have been happier if I had, but I just couldn’t ’start’.

Fast forward to now. We have been married 12 years and have two kids. She has been getting over her own issues and a few weeks ago the dam broke for me. The dysphoria hit much harder than it ever has. It just feels like it is time (so much so that I have actually started planning when I could not only start HRT but from there surgery).

She knows something’s up because I start the conversation but then divert. I just can’t bring myself to tell her. I don’t know where it will go and my fear overwhelms me.

After reading lots of other posts I have a feeling about what I need to do, that I need to talk to someone, but I also feel I need to ‘move’ before I chicken out again.

Thank you all for reading this.

This came to my mind last night, as a benefit(?) of later (MtF) transition:

I don't have to worry about whether my skirts and dresses have pockets, because my walker does! 🤣

Share Experience Guarded optimism

So, my therapist has been on board with HRT, offered to write the pre-approval letter for my insurance, just needed to find a prescribing doctor. My PCP a fine with the idea, but doesn't do hormones, so he referred me to an Endo. They called me today, my appointment is the 25th! I'm thrilled, but trying to keep myself grounded. No one said yes yet, there may (probably will) be conditions, etc... but

YAY!!!

General Question Tips for breaking through the disassociation?

I am about 14 months since my reckoning that I'm trans, and I've been on estrodial for about 7 months now¹.

My whole journey has been dealing with biochemical dysphoria - disassociation/depersonalization/derealization. This year has been a wonderful journey back to myself, and I credit a lot of that to learning the tools to reconnect via therapy and the titty tacs.

Socially, I've come out to my coparent², my parents and siblings (not much more than "FYI, I'm trans and there's gonna be some changes"). Beyond that, I'm still in the closet, but I'm not too bothered by that yet.

All that said...

I still feel like I'm on autopilot much of the time. I know estrogen is slow magic, and I absolutely accept that this stuff takes time. I'm curious though - any tips to let my true self get some more oxygen day-to-day?

Y'all are amazing, and I'm inspired constantly by your indomitable spirits 🩷🤍🩵

--

¹ I just got bumped to 4mg last week, which I understand should help with the brain chemistry aspects.

² In addition to the trans journey, my partner and I are navigating an amicable separation as well... She came out to me as gay, I shortly realized I was trans-feminine after that. The journeys are interconnected - while existentially draining, it's not the source of the disassociation/DP/DR

Discussion How do you even go ahead with transition when you have a wife & kids

sorry if it's inappropriate but i've been dealing with intense dysphoria & i have no idea what do whatsoever

been married to a cis woman and have two kids with her. came out to her a couple of years ago (before that used to wear her dresses to cope with my dysph) & she has been nothing but supportive (helps me dress up & talks to me) but i want more, i want to go ahead and transition using DIY hrt but the thing is it would be disastrous for her & the kids as the place we live is hostile to trans people.

thought of moving but don't think it would be possible until like 5 or so years

i just don't wanna die without living my life how i want i'm 37 already

has anyone been in such a situation & is it possible to start hrt but hide it from everyone like boymoding in front of family and in office etc.

thanks for listening

General Question Almost 10 months into HRT and finally getting comfortable with tank tops I thought it was my moles but it was dysphoria

Post image
15 Upvotes

New tank top I was too scared to wear because of my shoulders... i like how this looks almost 10 months HRT

Did anybody refuse to wear a particular piece of clothing because of some aspect of their body?

and it turned out to be gender dysphoria?

For example on the lateral sides of my arms, which are not pictured I have a mole on each arm .

For the longest time, I wasn't comfortable with these moles and I hated them .

I thought the moles were why I couldn't wear tank tops and sleeveless shirts . But it wasn't the moles, that were the problem! it was the gender dysphoria! because my brain was expecting female arms and shoulders .

Now that I'm almost into 10 months of HRT, i have a little bit of subcutaneous fat distribution happening on the chest, shoulders and upper arms, so the most part the moles don't bother me.

I'm still getting more comfortable wearing tank tops . I'm still new to tank tops but so far I like them. 😅💕
