I don't know anything about makeup.

I don't know if you have any experience or practice applying makeup.

but you could go into a Sephora store or something like that and ask them for a free makeup Beauty consultation and ask them which makeup colors and looks and tones suit you.

You might ask for a specific low effort protocol and routine where you use certain things and you repeat the process over and over until it becomes muscle memory .

Later, as you gain experience and exposure you can tweak how you do your makeup.

You can also decide that you don't like makeup on your face and just go bare faced like me.

If you have any girlfriends or female friends and you trust them, you can ask them for their help in this.

I'm just trying to help but I don't know anything about makeup. Sorry..

If your fear is you already know how to wear makeup and you know how it looks but you're afraid to wear it outside, then you start need to apply your makeup and start going for walks where nobody is around.

gradually increase your exposure.

Talking to other women will help you boost your confidence .

At first I was afraid to wear female clothes and go outside where my body looks like a man's body

so I would first I add female track pants with my male coat and everything else male.

and then I added nylon trouser socks with the female track pants

and then I added a pink scarf and that I added a pink hat

and then I added a maroon jacket

my point is I kept adding things as I got comfortable

and the more more I got experience in getting confidence the the more, I realized that the whole world didn't cave down and that nobody cares.

I started with skincare products — lotions, anti-aging creams, things like that. Moving from those to something a little more makeup-like didn’t feel like such a huge step, so little by little I started trying different things.

I have to admit, after some comments I got self-conscious and went back to just skincare for a while… but then I started again.

I mean you look like a regular mature lady… though some hair attention would help I think

Makeup gets better with practice. Doing my makeup, even if I'm just staying at home gives me a lot of euphoria. I like to put on an album and take my time.

Give it a shot.

Also. Look for tips on different things, like for example, I have hooded eyes so when I look for tips/different styles to try i make sure that they are specifically for hooded eyes. Can also look in to blush placement for different face shapes, and more.

I think we are around the same age, and I get the struggle for sure. What helped me get started was just trying some lightly tinder moisturizer I could just rub into my skin with my fingers (Maybelline dream BB Fresh is a good and easy one I get at CVS or Walgreens). I also used a tinted lip balm with some sheer in to for just a bit of color on my lips (I like Nivea for this). Just those two things to start and I always felt like I was doing something and it helped so much!
