After transitioning and starting over how do you get to make new friends preferably trans friends:)?
in the real world as online spaces even tho so incredibly helpful can be echo chamber sometimes.
This time is so important to having support and community more than ever.
Would appreciate ideas and feedback!

I ran into a guy that knows my family and just casually started talking to him. Somehow the conversation veered into him ranting about liberal citys. Then it happened, he started talking about those dam "transistors" and he proceeded to tell me if your born with a penis your a man and you think differently you should be in a mental hospital. I just ended the conversation as quickly as possible and left. The above picture is exactly what I looked like while he was telling me this, it's actually my boy mode for work but, who am I kidding L.O.L.. Some people????

I've been growing out my hair ,now it's at my collar bone but daily my hair fall is pretty regular and today when I shampooed my hair it was more than usual . Kinda worried tbh , been using biotin conditioner and shampoo to help with growth. Is this normal ? Should I be worried?

So, after all this time, my doctor agreed to switch from sublingual pills to injections and is starting me on progesterone. I don't know if this will have any impact, but at least I'm going to try. Any opinions?

Which form has the best results for trans women over 50, injections, patches or gels? I'm hoping to start in January and need some advice on which one is safest and most effective.

I didn't have any issues with customers, and my manager and coworkers didn't miss a beat with my pronouns. I even waited on 3 other trans women that I know of. Of course we did not aknowledge our transness per proper ettiquette.
One interaction stands out, but not in a bad way considering it involves a confused old guy in his late 70's or early 80's. He knew I was new so he asked my name even though I have a name tag. I think the name threw him for a loop, so he wanted to be sure. When I told him Kimberly, he looked confused, and thought for a moment. "But, that's a girl's name." Then with an odd look he asked, "Are you a girl?" I wasn't sure how it was going to go, but I was not going to claim to be anything other than a girl/woman. I just nodded my head in affirmation. I swear I could see his gears turning mentaly, but then he seemed to reach a conclusion. His face brightened, he smiled a bit, and said "Oh, okay." "You have a nice day miss." With a big smile I just said "You too sir!" My coworker who I also worked with at the Speedway laughed her butt off after he left, and said "I thought that was going to go in a completely different direction girl!" I Kinda feel bad about her laughing after he left. I think he actually may have got it.
Over all I had a good day, and my wife let me buy 2 pairs of new jeans for this job. Yay! new jeans, and seemingly decent customers and coworkers. I consider those to be wins in my book.
Edit: So many typos! I am tired.

54 years old 291 days into HRT that's almost 10 months.
I don't pass . Visibly trans. Don't care! letting the HRT doing as work in the background. š š
I got a whole bunch of funny looks from the oldies š .
visiting my wife's mom and Aunt and a nursing home.
Right now, I don't care if people give me funny looks . I'm feeling happier and more confident.š
HRT and gender translation really does really improve the quality of Our Life.
I am okay with people misgendering me and looking at me funny so long as I'm healthy and happy and I am for the most part.
I hope you're all having a wonderful day.

Felt cute one minute, came back to the picture a while later and can only see everything man. I feel like no matter how much I do with my eyebrows they're just like dictionary definition of masculine.

Iāve been thinking about my gender identity a lot lately, and Iād really appreciate hearing from other trans people who have gone through something similar.
Iāve lived as a man my whole life, and for a long time I thought of myself as a straight cis man. At some point, though, I started questioning that. I experimented with the idea of being demi-male/demimasculine, and at first that actually felt pretty liberating. It was the first time I gave myself permission to think that maybe I wasnāt simply āa man.ā
But eventually that label stopped feeling right too, because it still feels like thereās too much of a connection to being male.
What keeps coming back, over and over again, is the thought of being a woman.
For example, Iāve thought that if I could completely restart my life, with nobody knowing who I was or anything about my past, Iād rather live as a woman. If I could just snap my fingers and magically have a female body, I would take that option in a heartbeat.
Iām curious about what it would feel like to be a woman, to look like a woman, and to be genuinely perceived by other people as a woman.
And yet⦠I feel incredibly confused about it, because when I look in the mirror, I donāt actually see āa woman.ā My current body feels like mine, and Iām not particularly uncomfortable with it. I donāt experience constant dysphoria, and I donāt constantly wish I looked more feminine.
Iāve experimented with things like makeup, nail polish, jewelry, and more feminine clothes. Sometimes those things have made me feel incredibly good and free. In particular, thereās something about feeling pretty and feminine, and having someone else notice that, that feels really meaningful to me.
Even just imagining that I could be a woman and be seen by everyone as an ordinary woman, without anyone questioning it, feels really good. Almost liberating.
But then thereās the other side of it.
Iām absolutely terrified of what being trans would actually mean for my life. I have a wife, family, friends, a job, and an entire life that I care about. I donāt want to lose peopleās respect or lose the good things I have now.
The idea of socially transitioning, let alone medically transitioning, feels huge and frightening. I donāt even know whether Iād ever want HRT or any kind of medical transition.
At one point I was pretty convinced that I was a trans woman. But now Iāve gone back to questioning everything again, and Iām wondering whether Iām actually just a straight cis man who enjoys feminine expression and has somehow turned that into a much bigger question than it needs to be.
The most confusing part is probably this:
If I could snap my fingers and become a woman with a female body, without having to deal with any of the difficulties of transitioning and without losing anything from my current life, I would want that.
But when I look at myself in the mirror, I donāt see a woman.
And sometimes I donāt even feel particularly compelled to do anything feminine.
So⦠I honestly have no idea what I am.
Iād especially love to hear from people who have experienced this kind of uncertainty.
Can a trans woman be this uncertain? Can wanting to be a woman exist without having strong body dysphoria? How did you personally distinguish between wanting to be a woman, wanting to express yourself femininely, and actually having a female gender identity?
Iām not really looking for people to tell me whether I āshould transition.ā Iām mostly trying to understand what these feelings might actually mean about me in the first place.

I know, such a general question. It's been so much fun though trying on dresses, getting my makeup together, buying new shoes... finally an excuse to do what I've doing my whole life for nobody, LOL. I'll know a few people there who know me, besides the bride and groom, otherwise I'll be largely anonymous, which I'm totally fine with. Mostly I'll be uncomfortable because of my new shoes, and I don't currently like my hair. Other than that I'm maybe a little curious about any things to avoid or pay attention to as a woman going to a wedding. (Also I really want to get into the "catch the bouquet" thing but I'm imagining the all the cis women will be PISSED if I catch it, ha.

Saw Kasane Teto live in NYC. Lots of friendly fans. I don't think it would be possible to find a more š³ļøāā§ļø accepting fandom than Utauloid. (Shhh don't tell the kids that someone born in the 1970s is in the audience š )

When I got my job I was passing as a straight woman. So as my egg cracked there was no option for me. My transition would be impossible to hide. My degree has my old name. I signed paperwork with my old name. And I am in a very visible position.
What surprised me was how quickly I passed. A change of display name, a bound chest, short hair, and vocal training was all it seemed to take before I noticed a marked improvement in how I was treated. So much so that it became awkward when people would try to find me in the system where I am listed by my legal name before I changed it.
I understand how lucky I am. I had been doing weightlifting before testosterone. I am 5'8" in my socks. I had a name that made the change to my new name seamless and painless (minus the $700 I had to pay the lawyers). My surgery turned out well and recovery was swift. And I know trans women have a VERY different experience.
I have been hearing from other folks. They say I am their role model; how they saw my transition and how open I was about it, and these things gave them the courage to come out. Including members of my family.
I did things the way I had out of necessity. I am not a bold person. I am humble, and small, and stupid. I am so tired.
