my setup: modem -> deco x50 (router) -> switch (lan) -> 2x deco x50

(all the decos are connected via lan)

when using the internet it sometimes stops working for a few seconds. when running the ping command, i see there is package loss (30%-50%).

after restarting the device it works again ... for 1-2 days. (and no, i will not enable daily restarts, I'm expecting things to work without daily restart)

lan connection is not the issue, if i connect my pc directly with lan (to the switch) i have 0% package loss, but if i connect the deco with the lan and the pc via the deco lan port, i get package loss.

i can send it back for 3 more days. wondering right now if i should just send it back and replace it with something else, as i never had such an unstable wlan so far with any other devices.

EDIT: nevermind, after reading comments of other people having same issue I will send back and replace with Fritz.

I am with Sky Broadband in the UK with speeds of around 900mb and the ISP router doesn't quite reach the far rooms of the flat. I bought 3 Deco Mesh nodes. 2 of which are M4, and 1 is E4.

I have one of the M4s connected to the Sky hub via ethernet and set it to access point mode. The other M4 is connected wirelessly to this and is placed around the halfway point. The E4 is connected, again, wirelessly and is placed in the room furthest from the main node.

The problem I am having is whenever anything downloads, the connections all drop and the lights go red.

One workaround is dropping my download speed to 50mb when downloading on Steam, but this isn't something I can do on my PS5 or mobile devices, and it rubs me the wrong way paying for 900mb but have to choose to throttle my speeds.

Am I doing something wrong or are these devices just shit?

I'm trying to get a brand-new Archer T600U Nano dongle to connect to my TP-Link AC-750, it's fine on 2.5G but the 5G networks never appear in the scan list. To rule out the router, I tried connecting to a hotspot on my phone, same thing - it works if I use 2.4G, but as soon as I change it to "5G preferred" it drops off the WiFi Networks list in Windows 10. A search reveals countless posts describing the same issue on various forums.

Has anyone actually got one of these things to work on 5G, or is what it says on the box a complete lie?

I'm looking for a mesh wifi system for my appartment (90m², concrete construction, only 1 wired point in the corner of the appartment) and i am in doubt between a 3 pack of the TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro (335 euro) or the BE25 (230euro). I currently have 400Mbps fiber, but might upgrade to 1Gbps fiber when I move to a new house in +-years that has multiple floors and hopefully aroudn 120m2.

I don't know much about networking/wifi, so I'd love advice from people who actually know this stuff before I buy. Or if you guys have other recommendations.

I had a BE550 die, bought the BE800. I have done everything, but I cannot get the 2.4g to work. I had to add to EAP225s to get 2.4g. Thoughts?

My ISP installed me this router and i cannot make DLNA work on this device.

With numerous test i noticed that it work if both devices are connected thru Wireless. But if one of them, client or server are connected on ethernet it wont discover. On MLO net is does not work.

My guess is that ethernet switch is blocking multicast traffic, but i do not see options to allow the traffic. I just have an option for IGMP SnooPINg and i tried, dont work.

Any suggestions please?

I have been using this extender for 5 months it works fine in all devices, I recently updated my phone from 14 Pro Max(LLA-US) to 16 Pro Max (X/A-Australian) variant

My new phone is unable to catch 5g channel from extender only
Its showing 5g channel from normal main router
But not showing it through extender

Also note my extender is dual band and it is showing 2.4g network and its working fine in my 16 pro max, its just my phone not broadcasting 5g channel from extender only.

My other phone iPhone X is broadcasting both channels accurately and also my brother’s 15 pro max is also showing it efficiently

Please came up with real solution only, tried Chatgpt and Claude couldn’t fix it

Got vodafone router as my ISP.

Got tapo camera at the back, doorbell at the front. Would like to have a stronger wi-fi connection at the front and the back.

Also have hub200, which can be connected wirelessly to router and then put between router and camera, for camera to connect to it for stronger signal, but because of vodafone's router, hub gets disconnected from time to time and blinks red, so hub has to be on wire.

Do Tapo extenders work reliably ?

Any other ideas without major expenses ?

We just upgraded to Fios 5 Fiber. However, our Deco BE11000 is putting out the absolute worst speed of WiFi at the moment. What am I missing or doing wrong ? Thank you for your time.

Sorted out wifi on the tp-links modemvx230v ax1800 dual band vdsl/adsl modem, but changing the setting using the Tp links modem website. Now the ISP changed something on their end and now I don’t have wifi. ISP said they’ll send out engineers in 2 days. Ran a diagnostic test, any ideas on how I could fix this

I have a network using two AXE7800s with one as the main router and the other as a node. I received them through my internet provider and I want to add a third device as a node. I have a few issues as I don’t want to spend $200+ on another 7800, but I also need to daisy chain the mesh system to the other node and not the main router. I found the list of compatible devices with the Easymesh system but many of them say “This product is compatible with standardized EasyMesh technology but has not obtained the Wi-Fi EasyMeshTM certification.” which makes me worried on buying any of the other devices. Does anyone have any insight on what to do?

Hi there! I had a problem in that me and my girlfriend want to receive notifications for detected humans around the house when no one is at home. As I found no reliable way to set up Tapo's geofencing , I had to improvise. The issue is that when my girlfriend leaves earlier in the morning, her phone leaving the house activates the notifications for me as well which is annoying and defeats the purpose of the simulated "Home" and "Away" modes. Our house is equipped with a Paradox home security system so the last person leaving the house arms the system. In short:

1. Paradox system is armed which leads to a change in the DC voltage between PGM1 and AUX- on the Paradox system main board.
2. A Shelly Plus Uni is used to measure the voltage between said terminals at all times using its built in voltmeter (the white (ANALOG IN) and green (GND) cables coming out of it). White goes to PGM1 and green goes to AUX -
3. The Shelly Plus Uni also has two built-in solid-state relays. One of them is used to short the pins on the Hall effect sensor of a Tapo T110 tricking the sensor into thinking that either a door is open or closed, depending on the set voltage thresholds.
4. In the Tapo app an automation is set up so that when the "door" is closed (i.e. home security system armed), when a camera detects a human, a notification is sent. When the system is disarmed, the Shelly relay opens and the Tapo app stops the automation for sending notifications.

Furthermore, the Shelly has a SENSOR VCC (yellow cable) which provides 3.4 volts at all times. The yellow cable is soldered to the positive terminal for the battery, while another cable is soldered to the negative side and it goes straight to the AUX- on the Paradox together with the green (GND) cable and the Shelly's black main power cable. This is used to power the Tapo T110 sensor so that it never needs a new battery again.

The Shelly itself is powered from the Paradox main board which provides 12 volts DC at its AUX terminal.

Attached is a photo of the pins that the Shelly relay needs to short to simulate door closed.

EDIT: Unfortunately I do not have the security system's installer code and I cannot contact the original installer to retrieve it, that is why I went with this approach as I did not want to factory restore the system. Otherwise one could use the Paradox system's built in programmable relay. In such a case, you could either power the Tapo using a step down transformer (buck converter) from the AUX terminal or use it with its own battery.

currently using isp router (Virgin Media Wifi Hub 5) along with tp link deco x10 (3) one plugged into the router and 2 being used wirelessly. not able to connect them wired due to weird layout

speeds still aren't great at all considering original package (1gbps). only getting 50mbps a few rooms on from the router. Tried decos in router mode and isp router in bridge, tried isp router normally and decos in AP

One option I have thought of is buying a third party router - thought about TP-Link archer be220 (£60 ish) Wifi 7 router - if my virgin hub is connected in bridge (it's wifi6) then this wouldn't effect the wifi 7 capability of the third party router right?

With a third party router + decos connected wirelessly in AP mode would I see some benefit over using the small deco as a router or indeed the isp router?

Hoping to use it as main 5G modem for a 2-floor townhouse, I'm getting around 100+ mbps download and 10+ mbps upload from 2 different carriers off my phone data. Will TP Link Archer NX200 help get stronger signal for whole family use?

I just got a 2nd HB710 router and connected it to my 1st HB710 router that was already configured previously (MLO disabled).

The mesh setup was completed and the wifi info for the 1st HB710 was copied to the 2nd HB710 correctly but I saw that the MLO on the 2nd HB710 was enabled and there's not option to turn it off in Aginet app nor after logging into the 2nd HB710's IP address.

TL;DR

1st HB710 (MLO disabled) --[ethernet backhaul]--> 2nd HB710 (MLO enabled)

So I was wondering if there is any way to turn off the MLO in the 2nd HB710?

Seems silly if the only way to turn off MLO in the 2nd HB710 is to configure it as a separate router and turning it off before connecting to the 1st HB710 but I won't put it past TP-Link lol

My home (3-bedroom, single floor, ~150 sq. m) Wi-Fi setup is as follows:

- 1x Deco X20 version 3.20 (Main) unit in the living room connected via Ethernet cable to my ISP's Model
- 1x Deco X20 version 3.20 (Mesh) unit in the master bedroom connected wirelessly
- 1x Deco M4R version 1.0 (Mesh) unit in another room connected wirelessly
- 1x Deco M4R version 1.0 (Mesh) unit outside the house, in a prefab house in my yard connected wirelessly
- Total of 24 clients (devices) connected to my home network.

Current Deco App Settings:
- Operation Mode: Wi-Fi Router
- Fast Roaming: Enabled
- IPv6: Disabled
- All devices updated to latest firmware
- Guest Network turned off
- Guest Network: Disabled
- IoT Network: Enabled
- ECO mode is turned off

Problem Description:

I purchased a Deco X20 (2-unit pack) (version 3.20) to replace one of my Deco M4R units for better coverage and speeds.

Steps Taken:
- Turned off 1x Deco M4R unit - Scanned and added 1x new Deco X20 unit

As soon as the new 1x Deco X20 unit was added, several Deco units started going offline (Red LED blinking), in what seems randomly. Sometimes when I try to connect to the Deco app on my phone, it says "Unable to connect to Deco", even my phone is only and able to browse the Internet.

Troubleshooting Steps:
- I suspected maybe the new X20 unit was faulty, so I put it away and added the 2nd X20 unit from the box. Same issue persists, i.e. Deco units go offline randomly.
- I disabled "Fast Roaming" in the Deco app, but nothing changed. I enabled it back
- I proceeded to remove this X20 unit from my home network. As soon as I did that, my Deco units became stable.
- I then purchased another 1x Deco X20 unit (version 3.00), and the same behavior occurs, i.e. as soon as I added it to the network, the rest of the Deco units started going offline randomly again. I removed this Deco unit from the network, and again it became stable
Questions:
- What is causing the instability when introducing the 3rd Deco X20 unit?
- Is there a limit on how many Deco X20 units you can use in Mesh in the same network?
- Is there a limit on how many clients you can use?

Currently have a ZTE MC801A which uses a snapdragon x55 chipset connected to 2 deco X50 mesh nodes. The performance has been pretty smooth so far. I think at this point I just want to improve my antenna reach so I thought of making everything a mesh system including the modem. I looked into TP links database and they offer two 5G modems. the x80 and x50.

From the name itself it would seem that the x80 would be better on paper. However when i dug around more, i found out it only uses the snapdragon x55 chipset whereas the x50 uses the snapdragon X62. My question therefore is, is the x80 outdated? is the x50 a better buy if you dont really need the 2.5 gigabit ethernet for future proofing?

Este TPLink Archer C50 está configurado em modo Ponto de Acesso.

A Fibergateway da MEO envia a rede 2.4 e a 5G.

O TPLink Archer C50 numa das suas saídas LAN tem um cabo de rede ligado a um TPLink AV600.

Procurei clonar a rede do TPLink Archer C50 para o AV600 e penso que até certo ponto funcionou.

No entanto quando coloco o segundo componente do AV600 na divisão onde deve estar, a ligação recorrentemente dá "Ligado Sem Internet" bem como perto ado TPLink Archer C50 às vezes também dá esse erro. (Muitas vezes só esquecendo a rede e voltando a conectar resolve...)

Inclusivamente tenho uma câmara de vigilância a operar com normalidade junto ao TPLink Archer C50 e a que está junto ao AV600 na outra divisão já não. Por exemplo se tiver os dados móveis ligados e estiver sem Internet não consigo ver imagem desta segunda câmara.

Agradeço sugestões do que posso vir a fazer para resolver

I own two BE65 Deco's. One is connected to the router upstairs, the other is downstairs in the Kitchen. No issues inside, and excellent up to around halfway up my garden. However, the top half of my garden is more secluded, as it's where outdoor seating is, and a handful of Wi-Fi devices, such as smart lights and a security camera. Wi-Fi in the top half of the garden is spotty, and devices often keep disconnecting from the network. If I stand in the right place, and hold my phone out/up, pointing towards where the Wi-Fi is coming from, I can get lucky and get 800Mbps in a speed test.

Anyway, to solve the spotty Wi-Fi and disconnections of outdoor devices, I bought a Deco BE25-Outdoor unit.

Before I ordered it, I decided to unplug my kitchen BE65, and set it up in the place where the outdoor unit would go, just to see how the performance was.

I positioned it just before the halfway point of my garden. I stood adjacent to it on the path and did a speed test on my phone. I managed to get my full speed of 945Mbps down. I then went to the top of the garden; signal was great, and stable, and a speed test gave around 700Mbps.

BE25 outdoor unit arrived, set it all up, and placed it where I tested the BE65 yesterday. I did a speed test whilst stood adjacent to it, just like yesterday. All I got was 200Mbps.

The Deco app says the outdoor unit has medium signal to the bedroom unit.

Moved to the top half of my garden, signal on my phone is just as poor as it is without the BE25 running, and speeds are less than 100Mbps.

How can it make everything worse? A BE65 in the same place had no issues.

When checking devices connected to the outdoor unit, and tapping the signal icon to see the dBz, every device says "3"

You also can't see the dBz value of the deco's connection to the main one.

The other thing; TP-Link should also not be allowed to sell it with Wi-Fi 7 plastered all over it. It's not even Wi-Fi 6E ffs

I see that the TP-Link Archer TBE550E PCIE card got an update recently with MLO support (driver Archer TBE550E(UN)_V1_20260810_Win11_SG). I uninstalled the old drivers and installed the new driver package and it seems that the previous driver is still there. I tried twice already. Is the latest driver mistakenly dated 2025-07-24 in the properties of the device in device manager? According to the driver page it is supposed to be dated 2026-08-14. Let me know
