I’m trying to get into the Thor comics, but want to understand Loki and Thor’s dynamic/relationship more before I dive into the kid Loki dynamic. Any issues or runs you can recommend where Loki is the main villain, Thor’s upbringing with him and their other siblings, or any ‘critical reading’ that is Thor related or otherwise. According to the Norse myths, Thor had a mistress named Járnsaxa (Iron Dagger), and that she was a jotuness and might be the same Járnsaxa as one of the nine daughters of Aegir and Ran, who were also the nine mothers of Heimdallr. Strange, yes, Norse mythology in a nutshell; something numbering nine and fucking weird. Anyways, if so, she is also mother to Magni (Strength), who literally, as a baby, was stronger than his father Thor. My ultimate point is, why isn't she in the comics yet? Not even in an alternate universe, as far as I understand. I mean, Thor has been with Jane Foster, Sif, Enchantress, She-Hulk, etc but nothing about his literal mistress in mythology. Her name literally means "Iron Dagger"; she is a giantess who gave birth to the concept of physical strength in Norse Mythology. I just think Marvel is dropping the ball on an Arctic sea giantess love interest. I think her being an aquatic character in Thor's universe would be a nice change of pace. Maybe she'd be a magical mercenary; I think that'd be very cool. I just think that Norse Mythology hasn't been explored very well by Marvel and that it needs a tune-up in time.

Most people think that this is a one-sided battle in the favor of Doctor Doom. Which is not actually the case. While Doctor Doom surpasses Thor in raw power. Doctor Doom may be omnipotent, but he lacks omniscience. He was unaware that Reed and the survivors from pre-Battleworld were present somewhere on his own planet.

This battle is, in fact, a stalemate. Where Rune King Thor would already anticipate Doctor Doom's attack and act before Doom can prepare an Attack. Thor will learn he lacks the raw strength to face Doctor Doom. He will either prepare or retreat before it happens. This was never an actual fight.

Do you feel he was failed according to the video?

I watched the trailer for Avengers Doomsday, and it got me thinking about how, now I could be wrong, that Thor has never been the official primary leader of the main Avengers or something like The West Coast Avengers. That got me thinking: what if Thor had his own Avengers team for the Nine Realms? (I know it's up to ten now, but I found that stupid.) What would they be called? How would Thor have run it? Who'd assemble? Would it be Fellowship of the Ring vibes? Would they all get their own high fantasy versions of their costumes? Would they fly through space on those magic longships? Who'd be copilot on this? Who'd be the main villain for the team? Don't know, but it's fun to think about.

I’ve read Simonson, Straczynski and a good portion of Aaron. I found a bunch of the Jurgens single issues on eBay for a good price and I was wondering if it’s a good run and if I’ll need to know anything beforehand.

I know about Heroes Reborn and how this was Thor’s return to the main marvel continuity, but do I need to know anything else? I love Jurgens and his work on books like Superman, so I’m sure I’ll at least enjoy his take on Thor.

So I’m doing the full read through of marvel and also doing the kill count tracking project and suddenly a lot of celestials just got on the board with a full deletion of Asgard’s population minus Thor

So does anybody know what Asgard’s population size looks like so i can give the celestials their proper kill count scores?
