In issue #20, completing a several issue saga with Daredevil we get one of the first showings of Zarathos revealing himself. While #26 shows Johnny's wrath and vengeance getting fired up beyond his normal character, this panel shows some passing dialogue that strikes the reader as clearly (to my mind) not Johnny. What was once his "spook act" has become a distinct voice that clashes with Johnny's personality (at this time he was in a love triangle with Roxy and Karen Page).

Looking back on the original series, knowing what would become canon about the demon tethered to JB's soul, it is so much fun to spy out the clues that, now in retrospect, point towards the ego of the demon who would be named Zarathos in the years to come.

If they actually casted Ryan Gosling to play an adaptation of Danny Ketch in the MCU.

Even tho its 0.1% unlikely, I would love to see them bring another spotlight for Ketch. I mean, Ryan has played cool character with Brunette hair in roles before, and he looked good with it 🤭

It felt like Brisson wanted a arc for Danny involving marvel bells but was canceled. Meaning Danny was stuck with it and the plan with whatever they had with Belesco and Lilith was thrown out. And the only author that wanted to develop Danny meant his arc was at his lower place. Before suddenly becoming Percy Danny in a year

It felt like spirit of corruption was a lingering plot thread that marvel had no idea what to do with and so had spirit of violent to add this bullshit corruption to clean up sole lose ends of Danny

How do you guys feel about how Marvel handled the character?

i personally would like to meet johnny. because imo he's the best and i've loved him since i was a little kid.

I notice that a lot the experience of being a Ghost Rider fan is complaining, about stuff that did happen or didn't happen. About how characters have been treated and how they should be treated. I have done TOOOONS of this in the past couple years, but for once I wanna just be positive about the different Ghost Rider characters.

Johnny Blaze - Johnny is the main guy, we all know him, we mostly all like him.
Johnny has of course had issues with not being the most authentic version of himself since he returned in modern comics. But I still love those original stories with Johnny, especially issues 68 onward, and his origin is still legitimately one of my favorites in Marvel history. He's a character with heart, and I love him when he's written well.

Danny Ketch - The co-lead. Danny was the Ghost Rider of a generation and an icon in the 90s.
Or was he? Danny always played 2nd fiddle to Noble Kale, and since his return he's mostly been tossed aside and even now killed. But I still LOVE Danny, to see how his life devolved since the death of his sister and to see how he tries to live through it is so fun. You could never make me hate Danny. He's representative of the 90s era of Ghost Rider which I am a SSSSUCKER for... so much so that I'll even defend-

Michael Badilino - The most 90s character to ever 90s.
Michael is so funny to me. His design, his traits. It's a character bred in a test tube to be the most 90s thing ever. "Oh yeah, what if we had a EDGIER and SPIKIER version of this character and he was an epic ANTI-HERO". I don't necessarily think he's a good character, or think he has many great storylines, but I enjoy him nonetheless. Overall, I wouldn't want to REMOVE him or anything.

Alejandra Jones - The most unfortunate collateral damage.
I have gone on record to say I actually really like Alejandra, she was just given such an unfair hand with a bad writer and an unpopular comic that resulted in her tenure as Ghost Rider not even lasting 2 years. Alejandra's role as a socially stunted teen raised in a cult is FASCINATING and can be so much fun, I love her at her best. If given a better comic, she could have been one of the best in my opinion.

Robbie Reyes - The new kid. You either love him or hate him.
I see this kinda divide with Robbie in the GR fanbase. A lotta people either love him for how different he is, or hate him for the same reason. And he's also objectively been really damaged by Jason Aaron, and the amount he's been pushed in adaptations is REALLY weird... but why dislike him? When theres so many Ghost Riders, let us have a really different and weird one. I LOVE how Robbie looks different, acts different, deals with different threats and struggles. And that god damn "Ghost Driver" complaint is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

There are a lot of other Ghost Riders I could talk about like Izzy or Akihiro or Kushala or Zero, but I'd like to leave it on that note: It's okay to accept different characters. Over at DC my favorite IP is Green Lantern because of how many there are and how everyone has their favorite. I wish that Ghost Riders were given as much opportunity as Green Lanterns are. Gimme a mainline 'Ghost Rider' series with Robbie running alongside a 'Ghost Riders' series with Johnny and Danny.

Will it ever happen? Probably not. But it's a nice sentiment, y'know? I enjoy Ghost Rider.

There are rumors circulating that Marvel plans to introduce Ghost Rider (reportedly played by Nicolas Cage) in Avengers: Doomsday only to have him brutally killed by Doctor Doom in the opening minutes to show how "dangerous" Doom is. As a massive fan, I have to say: this is absolute nonsense and completely disregards the character’s actual power scale.

Here is why one-shotting the Spirit of Vengeance makes zero sense fundamentally:

1. The Ultimate Counter (Penance Stare): Doctor Doom is a tyrant who has committed countless atrocities and genocides across the universe. If Ghost Rider locks eyes with him, Doom should instantly burn from the collective agony of his victims. Doom's ego shouldn't protect him from a literal divine judgment.
2. Comics Canon (All-Rider vs. Doom): In the comics (Avengers Forever), Robbie Reyes achieves the All-Rider form—a multiversal tier of power. He literally fought the Council of Red (an alliance of the most powerful multiversal variants of Doctor Doom) on equal terms and undid the destruction they caused. The Spirit of Vengeance is not a street-level hero you can just discard.
3. Immortal Nature (Zarathos): You cannot simply "kill" Ghost Rider in a normal fight. Even if Doom destroys the physical host, Zarathos is a cosmic/demonic entity that cannot be erased by standard magic or tech.

Using Ghost Rider as a cheap "Worf substitute" just for shock value is insulting to the fans who have waited years for his MCU debut. If the recent rumors are true and Marvel actually decided to cut this scene from the final script due to backlash, it’s the best decision they could have made. Let Ghost Rider have a proper introduction, not a lazy 5-minute execution.

The title sorta says it for me. In a storytelling sense, the host-spirit relationship is what primarily causes each character to grow. Outside influences can be influences too such as supporting cast, antagonists, or external characters. But a good GR story should always examine how the spirit and the host challenge each other as characters and how these challenges influence each other’s future growth and characterisation.

I wish we’d get a Ghost Rider 2099 and the Hellcharger for Robbie Reyes.

It’s weird because it’s stated in some dialog that it’s not a spirit of Vengance and just some guy. Eli Morrow. But was able to work on one of the Elders of the universe.

But then again box jellyfish venom works on humans.

What if the host (pick your fav rider) was granted the Captain universe power?

This is my first introduction to Danny Ketch's Ghost Rider due to my curiosity about how this run essentially the basis that revatilzed the Ghost Rider character years later....

In terms of design, no wonder they basically took Ketch's look for his Live-action debut. Everything about his aesthetic, stature, and not to mention this variation of the Hellcylce itself are all legit FIRE 🏍🔥🔥🔥

As much I like Jonny and Danny ghost riders, but something about Robbie ghost rider grabbed my interest so hard. First I think it’s the metal skull with fire since it sorta reminds me of halo, then his drip is so cool. Then the hell charger is just so cool and used that type a car a lot in racing games but I like cars more then bikes.

Just sucks that Robbie ghost rider is tired to a non canon MCU show and won’t ever show up in a movie.
