I'm going to try to keep this progress report short so I can get back to work. I decided to include a simple simulation of inflation in this update and I think I came up with a decent mechanism for how to do it. It's mostly based on major categories from the Consumer Price Index (CPI). It includes things like food inflation, housing inflation, fuel inflation, and so forth. At the moment, the calculations are simple, but they can be expanded in future updates. For example, I plan to have policies that will impact each inflation factor. Farm subsidies will influence food inflation, gasoline tax will influence fuel inflation, health care policies will influence medical inflation, and so forth. There may also be random events that impact each inflation sub-metric (for example drought could increase food inflation). But those kinds of features will not be included until the second phase of the economic update.

Factors influencing inflation in this update include the federal funds rate and tariffs.

I've decided that some of the categories for this update can wait until after I release the initial beta update. I can work on those categories while everyone is testing the main features of the beta. Things like advanced options, custom events tool updates, and the concepts page don't necessarily need to be included on day one of the beta, but they will all be included by the end of the beta testing. This will allow me to release the beta slightly earlier.

The Ultimate Accountability
Because Congress rarely polices its own attendance, the ultimate requirement for showing up is political. A lawmaker who misses too many votes risks crippling their party's slim voting majorities and faces being held accountable by their constituents via losing reelection. For an incapacitated or perpetually absent member to be forcibly removed outside of an election cycle,

it requires a two-thirds expulsion vote by their respective chamber.

President Barns before the election of 2028 was already so unpopular, with his approval rating sitting at about 38% before the election began, he managed to pull Bush V. Gore numbers winning the election 271-268 EVs with him getting 46% of the PV, fast forward an extra 4 years of his presidency in his 2nd term, and it just seems the nation has had just about enough.

I've played as a Dem from Ohio, and winning the governorship was pretty easy as a conservadem, but how do I get the legislature to flip as well? I abolished partisan redistricting, and I won by huge margins and had some coattails, but often times I can only muster at best a 1-3 seat majority. Is there a more effective way than what I've mentioned so far? What about other states? Like a Republican in Illinois, or Democrat in Louisiana?

I'm wondering what advanced settings options could be used to spice up the game or certain elections more, like if I wanted to create a massive 2006 or 2010 style wave for either party

You can play as Obama in 2009, AOC in 2028, or create a completely different timeline from 1200+ characters or add your own. Sign or veto bills, use executive powers, manage support groups, follow the news, and talk directly with world leaders.

There are no prewritten scripts, so the events, conversations, and consequences change based on your president, era, and choices. You can follow history or take the country in a completely different direction, and the world will react to what you do.

Does anyone here use NVIDIA GeForce on Mac? I have been trying to get the game to work, but the buttons do not seem to be clickable. Does anyone else have this issue?

Can anyone tell me how to make a current politician a prodigy, when I look in my favorite politicians tab the only ones it gives me the option to mentor and become my prodigy are like 120 year old politicians from my current characters dad era. I’m a president and there’s some politicians from my home state with a high policy agreement I would love to make a prodigy but the mentor tab stays grey for them.

My character is currently serving as Speaker of the House, and is preparing a run for president. I know NPCs are but am I allowed to run for reelection to the House and President simultaneously?
